Hula hoops on PVC pipes work great for narrow gates. Use prop guards when you practice. Fly the route at the same altitude and path several times and then put the gates in. Kind of like golf. Imagine the path, commit and put the ball in front of a consistent swing. Fly forward through then backwards. Fly through, 180 and fly back. Fly through backwards both directions. Include the hoops into a predetermined exercise with orbits and slides and record all of it so you can review your errors and identify what you did or didn’t do correctly. QuadcopterFX is a good app for rainy day practice. Decent physics.
Interesting and informative video. I suppose drone flyers need to check apps like UAV forecast or Weather by Tomorrow to judge ideal flying conditions.
Early in the video you suggested NOT doing the drills with the Mavic Pro (and mentioned that some of the shots were flown with the Mavic.) But you didn’t actually say WHY you recommend against the Mavic. Was that an accidental omission?
DrawntoAdventure Well, pick a micro-drone with propguards and practice both FPV and LOS of course in acro-mode. The financial impact of an accidental mishap is small.
