How Can Pokémon Legends: Z-A Improve on Arceus? 

Regarding voice acting, Legends Arceus felt like it was trying to build up to that. The player character has small amounts of voice acting as them move and interact with the world, similar to Link in BotW. It was a baby step, but it will hopefully lead to more in the future.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus made me feel like a kid again. It brought back the joy of playing Pokemon. It’s such a refreshing new take to play the games. It might have had a decent storyline, but it still brings a lot to the table. Definitely a top tier Pokemon game. ✨

The Kalos Region has a VERY diverse number of Pokemon (457 total, which is almost double the number in Legends: Arceus) so I'm curious to see how they handle it in Legends: Z-A. I'm also very excited to see what new regional variants or evolutions they add.

Words cannot describe how excited I am for Legends: Z-A. Pokemon X was my introduction into the Pokemon _games_ (as I had seen the anime and owned some of the cards before) so it holds a very special place in my heart, in spite of its flaws. Of all the regions, Kalos was the one with the least utilized potential. I'm SO EXCITED to see them actually flesh out the region's lore in a Legends game.

The ONLY change I'd care about is NOT LOCKING THE LEGENDARIES/MYTHICALS FOR PETE'S SAKE

You know what’s ironic? There is a Pokemon game with voice acting that works like Zelda and it’s the Gatcha game Pokemon Masters EX Sure there is probably less voice acting in Masters than what would be needed in Legends ZA but my point still stands

My switch and all my games got stolen on vacation this summer. So I lost every progress I've ever made. And seeing this video makes me miss legends Arceus so bad😭😭😭. Let's hope I get a new one before ZA.

How do we tell him that there's nothing suggesting that the battle mechanics are going to be even slightly similar between legend games?

I don't think any of you opinions or proposals are controversial in any way. They are all either features that are already in Pokémon but got removed in PLA, or basic game design features that have been normal for ages in the rest of the gaming world but that this franchise still refuses to accept.

I am obligated to mention that Pokemon Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu doesn't have held items, but still allows you to Mega Evolve your Pokemon.

I think a cool thing ZA could do would be to change almost everything from arceus,so the legends title shows more of a white canva instead of a preset formula (Also,ZA will probably lauch on switch becuase on the first trailer on the nintendo chanel,it starts with the switch logo)

I just want the legends gameplay with actual battling. I think the battling in legends arceus felt too much like a side feature.

First of all, KEEP the unique battle system. Maybe tweak it a little to ensure that revenge killing isn't so easy - for example, if you knock out a Pokemon with a priority move, the next opponent can't instantly revenge kill you unless they use their own priority move - but the overall system was one of the best parts of Legends: Arceus.

I don’t know that the game needs to be”improve” on legends arceus rather I think that it needs to stand up by itself like arceus does. Personally I think we need to lower our expectations a little bit I’m expecting a experience closer to scarlet and violet then the legends arceus experience not because I think the game will be bad but because Nintendo doesn’t always set the bar high and fails to meet the expectations as a pokemon community on the regular

I really think voice acting would be a great addition to not just Z-A, but all main line Pokemon games. The story in Scarlet & Violet was just serious enough/good enough to necessitate it imo

I know that ZA was delayed for at least a year, but I'd honestly prefer to have it be delayed for three years, minimum. That way, we'd actually have a chance - albeit still a slim one - of getting something good for a change. As it is, GameFreak and the Pokémon Company are just delaying the inevitable. They're avoiding showing the game until the last possible moment before release in the futile hope of minimising the (fully justified) backlash from fans. As the saying goes, you can't polish a turd.

How about placing the mega stone into a held item like the anime but setting some restrictions like a choice band...

I'm som frekaing excited for Legends ZA, you have no idea. And I'm so happy someone gave their artist on screen credit XD One of the things I can't really agree on with all that was said is the online battle system. Or any "Online" stuff for Legends ZA. I'll admit, the only reason I say this is because I love how Legends: Arceus is Mostly single player game, and I can evolve Pokemon that require trade evolutions with a single item. I don't want them to have the incentive to take that away (It was great, taking my Machoke from Pokemon Red and Finally evolving it) But who knows, maybe they'll incorporate it in a way that doesn't do that. I won't deny though, that there are some "replayability" to the game that I would love to have. I always come back to play Arceus for the sake of Shiny Hunting (due to the gameplay making it fun) but I don't want to keep doing JUST that. So I'd love for Legends ZA to Reintroduce Mini-Games. I can't have been the only one who played these back in the day when they were available, Like the Pokeathelon, Mantine Surfing, or the other Mini-Games you find in Pokemon Stadium. And I'd LOVE a Battle Facility, one that evens your Pokemon's levels with your opponents so that you're forced to strategies and not brute force your way through. Basically, I'd love a Pokemon game where I can do more than just "Catch Pokemon" or "Battle with others Online"

Bold of you to assume game freak plans to improve on anything.

One way I can improve is with Post Malone on the sound track and Ryan Reynolds doing the voice acting. Would make for a very fun game almost quadruple A quality gaming

This has summarised every thought that’s been rattling in my head since the announcement, it was so cathartic!! ❤️ I’m not getting my hopes up that Alpha Pokémon will be back tho, I think it‘ll be one of those awesome features that Game Freak do as a one-off, but I’m hopeful they’ll think of some other cool gimmick special to Ye Olde Lumiose. (I do also have a sneaking suspicion “Z-A” as a title combined with the trailer means it’ll involve some Ocarina of Time style time shifting)

I Think the battle system needs complete rework if they plan on having you fight more than 5 trainers in the whole game. The speed stat being broken was fine against one alpha pokemon because you would have to use your whole entire team to take one down. Most of the battles were super easy until right at the end they went from trainers having like 2 pokemon to having 6. There was no indication of what level you should be with no other trainers than the story battles.

Honestly, one of the worst parts of PL: A was the grind. Not only in terms of items, but also money.

2:07 is one my biggest gripes with the Switch Pokemon games. They look so bland and empty. BoTW and TotK are great examples of how to make a great looking world with density, foliage, and liveliness on Switch. An example is the Lost Woods in Zelda Breath and Tear compared to the Timeless Woods of SV.
