Young people so damn impatient. He must be solid after mixing for so many years. Now start rocking college parties before hitting clubs at 21. Shit too easy.

The young DJ wants to push himself and we as upstarts or old guards should give him whatever knowledge we have to share. I know a DJ/Producer who started at age 16. He's now a huge Producer and one of the most exciting DJs I have every seen. He's called Kid Enigma. If he can do, anything is possible. It depends on how bad do you want it.

Hey Dj TLM, much love to you and yours. I am an old school DJ from the 1982-1996 era b4 serato and just as CDJ's we're starting to be the norm. I never truly "mastered" CDJ's only played around and did a handful of gigs with borrowed ones. I am now 46yrs old and I want to get back into my old love for hip hop wheather it be as a hobbie or as an occasional gig. I have missed a lot of time and I only know what is and has been played on commercial stations if that. I no longer have the underground connections to music that I used to have and my kids who were a big source for this have all grown up and have also lost the underground connections. I used to get free music from people who worked at record stores by just making free mix tapes for them and they let me keep the vinyl. I bought a Numark Mixtrack 3 and use an old MacBook Pro running Virtual a few years ago. I really want the NS3 but currently can't house or afford it. I have two 15inch powered speakers with stands and two 6" studio monitors with a 12 channel mixer and two Mic's left over from my gig days. I am having trouble re-intergrating into Current Djing and DJ life after years. I don't know how old you are but I can sense that you can help me somewhat. Can you do a tutorial dedicated to old school Dj's that want to get back into the game? I know that as a vinyl-controller Dj yourself, only you can explain it easier. Thanx Dj Thyst1

Another thing to note since he is turning 18 soon is if he's planning on going to college, that might be a big help right there. If you're involved and you get your name out, a lot of people and organizations will be seeking you out. (Clubs, organizations, radio station on campus, etc.) Not to mention colleges party pretty much every week. This was how I got my start actually and I didn't even think about DJing before college. $0.02

Can you do a video on the technics turntables? For instance can you go over things to look for when picking up a pair? I am getting a lot better at scratching and djing, all thanks to you brother, and I have no idea how to get a pair of technics. A video about what to look out for would be huge.

Hey DJ TLM! i have a question for you! i am starting to get more interested spinning with turntables, so i dusted off the old technics 1200 k2's of my fraternity(studentenvereniging). Since i want to learn to scratch, i am wondering if these players have the right needles for scratching, so how do i see this? also, if they aren't right, where do i buy high quality needles i can use to scratch als well as playback. looking forward to your reply!

Bax-shop kan je goede naalden vinden
@allstar930

+Maarten Steeghs I would honestly buy something like a WeGO3 and learn to scratch on that before taking it to the actual turntables. You'll learn your timing and have an overall low investment before you take it to the decks where you'll have to be mindful of so many aspects of keeping those machines in good form.

I have a DDJ SB myself, but i don't really like the feel of scratching on those. I have now tried vinyl and a controller, and i prefer the vinyl, i have more feeling and control on those, so why is it better to practice on controllers first?

Hey, I am 15 and thinking about starting djing I want to start because I love house music and some hardstyle, but I don't really know what equipment I will need? What is the essentials? I was thinking about getting a cheap controller to start out but will I need anything else? I have been playing around with virtual dj for a while now I am finding it fun but also hard just using a mouse, so what advice would you give for your very first controller or maybe cdj's. If you would reply to this it would be very much appreciated, Thank You :)

All you need is a controller (i recommend the Pioneer DDJ-sb), a laptop with at least intel duo core 2 and some cheap speakers. Practice a lot, listen to mixtapes and watch videos and you will be fine
