I live in Summerside PEI! I actually grew up just 20 minutes from the farm you were at! Seen a few familiar faces in this video and Mikes last episode on Check TV!
@Sprouht : Thanks to you and Mike for showing some of the process of getting 'ptatahs' harvested. Spent a few days in PEI quite some time ago. I loved it and want to go back - lobster suppers, beautiful scenery and some great golf courses! BTW, sure we knew about PEI potatoes - ever hear of Stompin' Tom's song 'Bud the Spud'?? :)
I had a comment from you on my channel a while ago now and ive just popped back to see how your doing. 10k subs. Well done man! Video's are really high quality love it!
An islander here - I was expecting to be rolling my eyes at us being portrayed as country bumpkins; and while there were a couple of things I giggled at, I still learned a lot about potato harvest and I’m sure many viewers will as well.
I live in PEI for 2 years when I was young and it's some of the nicest people I've known and such amazing culture! Looking forward to seeing your full adventure on the island!
I never thought a video on potatoes could be so interesting! Thanks for sharing this with us bro, another top quality video, always learning something from them.
Never been to PEI, but I've seen how hard farmers work to produce what they do elsewhere, and potatoes are potatoes. Also: 5:35 - is that potato launcher actually called a "Spudnik"‽ Awesome!
Interesting seeing how all of the machines work that harvest potatoes all the way to storage. I think that it is true of all farmers that they work hard and a lot of hours to be successful at farming. Never been to Prince Edward Island or knew that they are known for producing potatoes. Like they say you learn something new everyday.
@@martysmallman9218 When I was in UofM, Manitoba had taken over the highest acres spot...I guess that has changed in the last 10 years. But google has Manitoba at 19.8%, ONT at 20.5% and PEI at 22.8%...but if you go to PEI websites they are at 25%. I guess if you're a potato farmer I will give you the benefit of the doubt...
