My factory has 2oo kva transformer with 1oo santion load. 1 How much kvar capacitor should i install on 2oo kva transformer 5kvar or 1o kvar? 2 My average load is 3o to 4o kva how much capicatior should i install? I donot have pf controller panel. Waiting for your reply?

Why transformer has negligible reactive power that's why it's rating is in KVA and motor has reactive power far more than transformer that's why it's rating is in KW and power factor is also consider in motor but not in transformer. While both are types of inductive load?

Sir my doubt is that in ug level we are always taught that capacitor produce lagging reactive power and inductive load consume lagging reactive power but you are saying that inductive load is producing lagging reactive power please explain it sir

Mr. Abhishek I have to correct you. Inductor consume lagging power, capacitor consume leading power & supply lagging power that's why capacitor supply lagging power requirement to inductor and improve power factor. Because now inductor consume lagging reactive power not from main supply but, it consume lagging reactive power provided by capacitor.
