Any drink shop tends to not have a "for here or to go" option. If they presented this, you would still see a reduction in cups without the up charge scaring people off
such small things can make a huge difference - imagine if the world and people operated this way. Progress not perfection! Zero waste where you can too as an individual, it makes a huge difference. Sometimes to the people around you, you'd be surprised who you can inspire by caring and making small changes
Wow, how admirable - I wish every business followed similar practices; if your menu is vegan/plant-based as well I commend you even further! Thank you for everything your cafes are doing, and thank you Goodful for covering this important topic. Coffee lovers, unite to save the planet! ☕️❤️
This is so nice. I try not to do to go's at a cafe, but at the same time I create a lot of wastes by ordering Uber Eats, etc. when being rushed to complete work before due dates with no time to go grocery shopping and cook decent meals. Really need to get my like re-organized...
This makes sense and helps cover the cost of the supplies. I also like the cup library. Pre pandemic I was all about bringing my own mug/cup/etc. Are coffee places (or rather the state) allowing to bring our own?
I would say most are, especially local places. Starbucks inside Target/grocery stores usually don’t allow it, but freestanding Starbucks resumed last summer. -Portland, Oregon
This is a great idea in my book! (But I wouldn't have watched this on my TV if I'd known that it was formatted like a short, with the video being super tall).
This is cool. I've mentioned this before that to go stuff should he an upcharge since technically it costs the business to have to go carriers. Also I've mentioned before that items like straws and utensils shouldn't be automatic or readily available but asked for if they really want it. this sounds like a great shop.
Especially with how easy it is to bring your own utensils. I have a set that is made from wheat straw. It comes with chopsticks, metal straw, cleaner for the straw, knife, fork and spoon in its own case.
This is very cool and love the purpose behind it but I am yet to be sold on "full electric" the amount of work and "harm" that goes into making the lithium batteries and ridiculous and also when they go bad there are pretty much useless.
I was going to say this. I stopped going to Starbucks because they’re too wasteful. I make my coffee at home and I bought my own to go coffee Mason jar and I have a metal straw too.
that's an OPTION but can be pricy and technically can still create waste if the consumer takes the cups and don't properly compost them. Also many "compostable" eating ware are only compostable in industrial compost, not backyard kind and landfills don't guarantee it'll compost properly either. maybe later on since it is progress they'll change their to go cups as "compostable" but still keep the $.25 charge. we'll see

Compostable cups are great if they're actually put into the compost bin (and if the city accepts them - Seattle's one of very few that does atm), but reusables are always better - not just environmentally (the compostable cups are still single-use and have to be made out of materials too), but culturally as well if it means taking a moment to relax in the café instead of constantly rushing to the next appointment.
To everyone who sees this comment, keep pushing in life and never give up. Can't wait to see you successful one day and May God bless you!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
By reducing to go cups, you need to provide the space for people to sit and drink. Now, that’s not easy. You have people buying a cup of coffee and sitting for a few hours. That’s just horrible for business. I wish this entrepreneur all the best seriously.
