How you show is more important than what you show.

The "how" is always more important than the "what". Although I get the feeling things are getting flipped around nowadays...
@HeyIntegrity
@HeyIntegrity 5 лет назад
@@tydendurler9574 Ofcourse. The amount of filmmakers focusing on visual storytelling is very low nowadays. Its just all exposition and dialogue. Even critics are failing to acknowledge on how a story is told, claiming creative attempts as "it's just style over substance". Filmmaking as a result is suffering because of it.

I need my Nolan fix. It's been too long. Each movie MUST be seen in the cinema (Imax preferably). Always left sick to the stomach of how good his movies are. Think on them for hours and days afterwards. The man is an absolute genius. Awesome video btw.

Love this video. I'm a huge Nolan fan, and of all his work the Prestige is the one I continually come back to the most. The editing is in a league of its own. What's the name of the music playing from 4:10 until the end? Great cutting. Thanks.

What kind of transition do you use to switch from one sequence to another? Like at 5:19 for instance? Thanks in advance!
@AMatterofFilm
@AMatterofFilm 5 лет назад
It's a transition I created in After Effects. it's an adjustment layer with a blur mask in a diagonal shape. Thanks for commenting!

I never undestood how people fall so easy for manupulation in movies... like inception "a person has a unique totem, this was my wife (therefore NOT MINE)" and then everybody discussing if the top would stop spinning or not, bunch of dumbs dumbs
@TheGeorgeD13
@TheGeorgeD13 5 лет назад
Because they want to be manipulated and taken on a ride. That's why people go to the movies... usually.
@foglias
@foglias 4 года назад
Because Cobb knows that a totem must be unique because he learnt that knowing the characteristics of someone else totem is problematic. He knew the spinning top wouldn’t stop in the dreamworld so that’s how he did the Inception to his wife. Then he learnt it’s not a good idea to know that kind of information. But definitely you can use the totem from somebody else is you know the trick.
