Thank you so much for doing this, Lorie, and especially to the young women who consented to be interviewed. This is a tough subject, made even more difficult when changing languages. Often, the young women don't interpret the question itself as you intended it. Then, there's the normative pressure when you interview groups: a temptation to say, "I agree with what she said." I frequently adjust my perspective by attempting to answer your questions in the languages I speak. I range from fluent to fluent-ish to fairly basic comprehension, so my answers vary considerably in nuance and detail... and I'm not on camera! In some, I could express detail or nuance, but it would take me longer. The camera creates pressure to be concise. When we have incomplete mastery of a language, there's a tendency for things to come out too strong while we ignore other sides because as we think ahead, we realize that we lack the vocabulary express that side. Then, I add the likelihood that some of the young women's' friends are likely to be watching from behind the camera, and that they may be made fun of by their friends for not speaking clearly. These are the filters through which I interpret what I see. They have courage! I'm reacting to this video in this way, but it applies equally to all of them.

The closest family members in your life don't need to hear that you love them...... they just know you do!!!

You would make a good detective Lorie, you dig to get answers🥇Being blood relatives does not always translate to being loved by parents or siblings, it is quite common , but not usually talked about. I have a policeman friend who says the same. As you suggested Lorie, break that negative cycle and show all the love you can to others. Being blood does not automaticly make them family, other non relatives can be much more like a family sometimes.Always remember that God loves every one of us much more than any human can anyway. Nicely done interviews family, glad you are making interesting and informative videos, not mindless fluff👍👍💪 Great stuff😊

I'm 60 and I and my kids say I love you to each other often. It seems strange that people there stress family as much as they do but don't say I love you to their parents or children.

I also have this experience. Wife and daughter don't say it to me but I get a heart in a message many times.

people can say anything out of their mouths but yyour actions will always speak greater value ! personally it reminds me of funerals friends and family can never be in your life but usually at every funeral you see mor of your family then your family reunions . and that's always proven too me just how you truly how close you really were ! love is an action word actions are proof in constant evidence that someone is on your mind and heart ! remember that go hug your parents now because youll wish you had when you can't , love is for the living not the dead ,which is one reason in the bible jesus said, "let the dead bury the dead" food for thought ! the last question she asked are you closer to your friends or parents ? that reminds me of - of where the bible says there is no greater love then a man willing to lay his life down for a friend ? (i think its because your family and loved ones are in your life ,because of genetics not by choice . but a friend chose to love you ,they can know your most darkest secret and still stand with you !

Sort of weird that is closer to friends than own family.... It puts thr philippine myth of closeknit families... so upside down.....

My kids and I always say love you when one of us leave or say goodbye on the phone every day.

Most I met are very close ! The girl will support them which is right!! Most are poor theres rich poor no in-between hard life not like the west but it's a bit better then the 80s 90s still more crowded Philippines now more traffic conditions not great my experience

i would be apprehensive about dating a girl who grew up watching her mom be diifficult and disrespectful to her dad because even is she behaves bettter than her mom she may stiill have some disrespectful tendencies but think that she's being resonable just because she's not quite as difficult as her mom!!!

Filipinas are so hot. I just got back from my 4th trip to the Philippines. I’ve got 9 girlfriends from 3 different islands. Every time I go, I tell myself I’m gonna be a good boy and only date 1 girl, but it’s impossible.
