It was addressed by some players on some interview that I cant remember. NA LCS teams structure are too lax compared to other regions and Reapered made the right move tyo make some disciplinary action to correct it.
they actually have a real chance of winning worlds in my opinion, if they keep up the early game pressure like they have. And they dont throw at baron like they did against RNG the second game.
I'm not a C9 fan (I've been supporting CLG since about forever) but after watching them play during the play-ins at Worlds, I want to see them play some more because damn, this team is entertaining to watch.
C9 is probably gonna get put in the group B, the group of DEATH with RNG and Gen.G (formerly world champion, SSG) and Vitality, C9 can only be in Group A or B because TL and 100 Thieves are in Group C and D, hopefully C9 goes in Group A and they can get to QuarterFinals (you can't have 2 team from same region in the group stage)
@Shamanalah C9 will automatically in the group B. Because EDG and G2 can only go group A or C, whereas C9 can be A or B and the last team (GRX or SUP) B or D. So, to put each team in a group, EDG/G2 is in group A, C9 group B, EDG/G2 in group C, and GRX or SUP in group D. I’m so sad for C9.
Not only did they finally beat TSM but they did it twice. I have been waiting for revenge. I want to that finals in Vancouver and I wanted my boys to succeed so badly. I can not wait to see them at worlds. Big thanks to Swolskeren and Goldenbro, Swol bros clutched it up.
World is boring without SKT they need to give the final win automatically to Faker or else no one will watch worlds because Faker is best player and forever be the best and no one else will ever be better than him in the future - yours truly a real Faker Fan Boy
@@changshu5008 It's sad because I think around 60% of players actually watch worlds to see Faker win. (Altho I'll still watch worlds without them because RNG and FNC, as well as C9, will be there kekekeke.)
Cloud 9 showed the NALCS that academy does matter and it’s a shame that worlds hasn’t changed to a 7 man roster. Although it seemed like “cloud 9 lost the off season” in spring to “benched OMGALUL” in summer C9 showed the potential of what a 7 man roster can be.
Fried Doge yeah I understand that but I meant was the use of academy players switching them in and out to find what play style they want since say in this case both mid and jungler have different play style. Not many teams have gone full investment of player testing with academy players.
Honestly, with c9's bad start this split, I kind of knew what Repeared's long con strategy was. While everyone else was bashing, I was trying to remain skeptical and see if it worked in the long term. Lo and behold, it did and C9 made it to worlds.
yeah i feel like people were too quick to writing them off and bashing them for what was you could say a "testing phase". People wanted instant results when it was complicated when you have rookies playing with veterans.
I can't stop watching this video because I really love my Cloud9, what happened was a really weird thing but that they all the true fans believed. GG ALL, now Cloud9 will win worlds. no doubt!
i wouldnt doubt it as rapidstar was there lmao. I havent followed the scene since skt lost at worlds but it seems like rapidstar is there as a coach or analyst?
It's one of those weird things where like this year we learned. Maybe TSM dictating NA meta was what held back NA all this time. Meanwhile maybe SKT being the final raid boss of the Korean splits historically elevated the other Korean teams to do better. With C9 being like, "fuck it, we're going to do the European hyper-aggression thing into NA meta" they found a ton of success. With SKT kind of collapsing after Worlds 2017, the other Korean teams fell out of shape this year.
Gonna be honest... I don't watch all of these videos. Because some don't get me... like, simply not interested, but whenever i watch on, the 15-20 minutes are soooo good. The videos are just so captivating
this is so fucking true, most teams just let it go through again so they can get other priority picks, then they lost to the champ they didn't ban, LMAO #LCSmentality
Being a c9 fan has been one hell of a roller coaster this year but man am I so proud of the team. Such a feat what they've managed so far, let's gooo! p.s. This was a really well made recap, kudos. :)
This just shows teamwork and synergy will always work better than having 2-3 "top pros" on a team. Those three stagnated and stopped working together for awhile. The academy guys brought back their synergy and motivation to be better and work together.
I remember the very first time I saw C9 come on the scene with that Ashe Morgana bot lane combo. The entire team looked so fresh and were making waves. Got sad when Hai ended up in the hospital and the team started falling off. Glad to see them find their way now.
The strategy of switching player is so good. It also lets off some steam and give the other a sense of refreshness. Also it changes the game tempo. Making it harder for the enemy team to know the pace of the enemy. Slow or fast. Aggro or passive. Strong macro or split push. Its kind of like a trump card to throw the enemy team off. And it works!
Most people don't know how C9 work together and they see them as a 5 man team with a head coach and a manager when infact operate as 10 man team that works together because they also depend on academy players that prove themselves to be good.
7-man roster... I think this is healthy for pro-play. It changes teams up and keeps it fresh in terms of strategy and coaching. Coaches will have more impact this way. And its just more exciting.
You can't really ever beat them being basically auto locked for relegation. In a situation where the next worse team had to lose their game, and they had to beat TSM just to be able to play a tie breaker to stay in the league. Then they brought back Hai from retirement as a jungler, won that game, the other team lost, they won the tie breaker. Then got put into the bottom of the gauntlet where they went down 0-2 only to come back 3-2. Then in the next round went down 0-2, only to reverse sweep again 3-2, only to then lose the first game in round 3, then bounce back 3-1 and make it to worlds, where they proceeded to be the best performing NA team crushing their group 3-0 in the first week.
Zayzal is gonna get them somewhere. I'm legit so proud of the C9 team for making the choices they did, the changes made some beautiful strides for the team. They have the synergy that they were missing and I can't wait to see more.
