How Could you NERF JOKER!? 

Personally I’d avoid nerfing too much. I’d rather buff low tiers.

Pikachu should be nerf instead.

There are characters that need nerfs before Joker. I wish MkLeo picked up Pikachu so people bitched about nerfs with an actual reason.

The meta is stagnant due to online, Mkleo is the only top player who played Joker, and Joker has already been nerfed while other characters have been getting buffed. What is the point of this video?

Nerfing his hurt box is actually perfect. That would be just enough in my opinion.

I think making him lighter is fair, he should be as light as ZSS or Bayonetta because of his small hurtbox, that would also make it harder to get arden more than once a game and would only reward a good player that is able to live for that long

Why nerf tho when you can buff characters that have a hard time beating him

I don’t think he is op. Although he’s 1 of the best characters in the game I still think he is very balanced. Joker is basically a jack of all trades character. Does joker have a really good recovery? No. He has no horizontal recovery and no mixups off-stage. With arsene 2 framing becomes easier but edge guarding is harder. Does he have the best comeback macanic? No. Lucarios aura is way more op than arsene. And that lasts infinitely until he dies. Arsene is very inconsistent and can screw over joker in many situations. Joker also has to take around 80% before he can use arsene. And even if he uses down b, it will never kill and he takes half damage, as well as it’s a very punishable move. Landing options, anybody with a teleport can land better than joker or characters with a down air that brings u down such as sonic or sheik. Down b is a pathetic landing option. Literally up air joker from the side. Even little Mac can up air joker on the side. I think you get the point, but joker is fine the way he is. He does everything really well but doesn’t excel at anything. I personally think he is fine the way he is. It’s not like he is meta knight in brawl or bayonetta in sm4sh. There is still no agreed on best character in the game

I see why joker may need a nerf, but why focus on him with peach and pika still being even more broken

-more end lag on all aerials (3-4 frames or enogh for up air draig down grab not work) -up air no longer kills -dash attack doesnt hit oponent if they failed a tech -up b cant snap the ledge if used higher or at the same height as the ledge and has more lag between snaping the ledge and pulling joker up -a bit slower initial dash -higher hurtbox when running then they say nerfing is hard

Nerf Arsene dash attack strength and counter size/strength, and make Eigha SLIGHTLY worse in some minor way, either in overall damage, priority, or just how fast it starts up. That would be totally fine to me and he would still be solidly top 3 or top 5.

I don't think he needs a nerf. Instead, I would say he needs a redesign so Arsene isn't such a dam crutch. Buff regular Joker a bit while nerfing Arsene

I'm okay leaving Joker alone, but I wouldn't complain for nerfing Tetrakarm's hitbox. But I feel he is a healthier character than even Smash 4 ZSS or Sheik. I think he is bad enough.

Make Arsene meter only fill by landing attacks or using Rebel's Guard. No longer by getting hit normally. And holding Rebel's Guard could actually very slowly drain his Arsene meter away if he holds it for too long while not taking damage, meaning you would have to properly time Rebel's Guard into hits rather than mindlessly spam it.

They should only nerf his counter (with arsene) since it’s kinda broken. It has such little endlag which is kind op for a counter in my opinion

Looking at this now, I think we were all wrong for hating Joker. He's actually a very balanced character despite having Arsene.

But why, why would you do that?

I think counters just need to be nerfed across the board. Make every counter have a 1x multiplier, and you solve a lot of issues, not just with Joker.

Rebels Guard shouldn't allow joker to be able to get persona faster. Example: 1 Incineroar toward smash hitting joker while using rebels guard gives him Arsen instantly. Joker should only be able to get Arsen from getting hit enough times. But, that's just my opinion

Let's be honest Nintendo is not going to buff every character to be top teir, so might as well nurf the top tiers

Joker only needs one nerf: -Make Arsene part of his hitbox when activated. He would be placed in the same situation as Mewtwo. Great mobility and kill power but a much larger hurtbox that can lead to unfortunate combos on them and even worse endurance.

Nah Don't nerf the best character in the game. Just buff ppl like Pichu, Luigi, Kirby, Diddy Kong, Lucario, K Rool, Dedede, and more

Honestly, I feel Nintendo's philosophy of buff not nerf has been healthier for the game. Ultimate is surprising well balanced for a roster of its size, especially compared to melee-smash 4 where there were meta dominating characters and completely unusable characters. While Joker, Palutena, Pikachu and other top tiers are good, they aren't bayonetta or meta knight broken. Bringing other characters up through buffs allow more characters get spotlight and develop new plays making it more interesting to watch. Removing strengths remove things that can make a character fun to watch.

Hard nerf his Arsin meter build up while he has a stock lead, like a debuff version of Lucario. Make come backs against him way easier so he doesn't chug out 3 arsins while you're on your last stock.

How to ruin Joker: Remove Arsene, give him.a horrible f-smash(like Snake or Shiek), Horrible dash attack, and a back air. Better option: Get gud

Not trying to be offensive but, I'd say make his hurtbox bigger when tumbling, give Down Special more endlag + make the successful Arsene version have a significantly smaller hitbox, Neutral Special bullets being reflectable projectiles rather than unreflectable massive disjoints (possible, not necessarily a redesign), decently increasing the threshold to acivate Arsene (seriously, that one patch didn't count) and Back Air reducing range and knockback I guess. Those are my ways of making him more balanced without taking away most of what's good he has.

I would add a few extra frames of end lag to both versions of his Side B to discourages idiots online for spamming it SERIOUSLY, USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT STUPID CURSE!

I don’t think joker should get nerfed I feel they just need to buff lower tier characters since a thing that would make ultimate even better would be having more mid tier characters rather than trash characters or low tiers

I'm not really for nurfing characters, especially in the first year or so of the meta. By continuing to nerf characters you'll only weaken the player base, not labbing the matchups to find a way to beat each top tier. No one has a chance to grow as a player, I think Nintendo has done a decent job of just adding slight buffs and only nurfing what was not intended to be in the game for the most part... I do think it's funny that they basically neutered Cloud's Limit (and Nair) for a healthy balance... but then release a character with an even better Limit mechanic 🤣 I'm just glad I can use Cloud as a fan of his series without being shunned for his brokenness lol.

The characters in top tier aren't too broken so I don't think nerfing them is necessary. I would rather have buffs to lower tier characters than nerfs to higher tier characters.

Well, Joker is one of those characters that is top tier but it's hard to play, execution wise he's hard. I could say that reworking how Arsene works that when he deals damage he gains meter, but that may influence his top tier status Idk, he's meh online, his advantage state is pure reaction, so online he is extremely boring and predictable

What about nerfing the tether a bit? It would restrict joker's recovery and this would limit the gimping potential because going off stage and safely recovering would become a weakness that could be exploited(like Cloud's non-limit climhazard, granted this is an extreme example). And yes, please make counter smaller. Its broken enough being able reflect any attack other than grab.

Well one tiny thing that could really nerf him is that Dash Animation, if he stood up that would be a big Nerf, maybe a Nerf to his kill power even more, so he NEEDS Arsene to kill, otherwise he has like... Shiek kill power, but that might be too much.

I feel like joker doesn't need buffs or nerfs anymore except for his counter range, his pretty easy to beat since most joker players are predictable.

Nah! Joker's indeed balanced. His out of shield game is not that good, the arsene recovery can be exploited and overall execution of his combo game is not as easy as it seems so no one will get carried by the character unlike bayo carrying players in sm4sh. I'd only gut the counter by decreasing the counter attack range and adding some end lag and take 3 secs off of arsene
