Honestly, Ned was a outlier compared to previous Starks. I feel like a lot of people saw Ned, and assumed that his behaviour was standard stark behaviour, while YES, Starks were honourable, they didn't take it to the extreme, most starks were always ruthless and pragmatic.
I just know Cregan’s rage storming south with 20,000 men was fueled by Jace’s death. Their alliance was more of a brotherhood than an alliance in the book.
Cregan stark is definitely as big a player as Stannis. I’m assuming this is spoiler friendly but here is your SPOILER WARNING……. Cregan may actually be an even bigger player then Stannis. He may not show his presence until the end of the Dance but when he does he by all accounts wins. He controlled the 7 Kingdoms (minus Dorne) and while it was only a fortnight (2 weeks) he was unopposed during that time and effectively placed Aegon III on the Throne and got the realm back in order before choosing to retire back to The North. Stannis has nothing on Cregan.
@@emare_6665 He did have one of his people on the Regency Council, in Lord Manderley - but I don't know how much the two communicated in that period- though there's an indication that Cregan was among the many lords opposed to Peake's high-handedness, in trying to marry his daughter off to the young king...
i cannot wait to meet Cregan because I feel like we’ve all forgotten at least for those who don’t read the books that the Starks are not kind or loveable but more of a levelheaded pretty cold and not very emotional bunch. They have been molded by the cruel environment that they live in so I cannot wait to see how Cregan is going to materialize in the show, especially in comparison with Jace because he’s such a non-character we don’t really know who he is as a person so the relationship between both of them is really gonna be central for this plotline.

Same people that act like GOT season 8 ruined everything. The same ones that watch it every episode twice and won't stop talking about it. Season 8 wasn't great but it definitely gets to much hate. It's still better than 80% of all other content. Just because it wasn't a fairy tale ending everyone mad. Guess what it was never a fairy tale to begin with. To think the ended was gonna be is just dumb on their part. Still takes place in the universe we all fell in love with. Quit being a hater and just ride with wave. It's not your story. @@bailmasterflex the dialogue and the visuals definitely were not on par with other seasons. It definitely was rushed but I think they did a good job with how much time they chose to have. Definitely should of been 10 episodes at least. The storyline was fine though. When people bitch about the storyline it pissed me off. They act like that's not the ending martin wrote. They had an solid outline of how Martin wanted the story to end. That was Martin's ending just now how he wanted it done. If you wanna complain about stuff other than the storyline that's cool. That roughly how Martin wanted it to end though. Martin also does a ridiculous about of rewriting though, so who knows how he would of changed it during the writing process
-Random realization- If you think about it Rhanerya was diluting the bloodline even tho I’m on the blacks side it’s probable more suitable for the greens to keep the thrown because Rhanerya can’t keep her legs closed to protect the validity of the bloodline.
We have no idea what happened to Bennard and his sons. The most likely answer is that Cregan's uncle and heir were sent to the Wall, but his younger sons could have stayed in the castle for they are the same age as Cregan. At no point in the books was it ever mentioned that there was an actual bloody conflict or fight. The most likely reason imo is that Bennard truly did not feel that his nephew was ready for lordship but relinquished his regency anyway to avoid any kinslaying. If Stark blood was spilled, then the whole of Westeros would have heard about it. I just fear the show writers will ignore the true star of the North, Roderick Dustin. Roddy the Ruin was a true monster on the battlefield and it would be utterly shameful if they ignored his existence.
It was Neds honor and duty above all else that was his downfall. He didn't want innocent children murdered. His naivete with little finger was his biggest mistake, and, not siding with Renly Baratheon when he should have.
One perk for the North: because winter is harsh, the people that usually go to the wilderness to die to save food for the young will instead head south in war. Especially those mountain clans, who the Starks are kin with.
Reasons why I root for Daemon… It has nothing to do whether you think he’s an asshole for killing his wife or you think he’s a badass for killing over 15 guys in the Battle of the Stepstones. Or because he rides Caraxes. The reason why Daemon is so cool is he excels at mostly everything. He gets things done. Viserys was the weaker brother who didn’t get things done because Otto poisoned his mind about his own brother. Otto is the real troublemaker. The keyword is mostly. HBO did give Daemon an erection problem like Tormund saying how Jon Snow had the smallest penis he had ever seen. HBO trying not to make Jon be completely perfect. Daemon being the second son failed to be king. Has never been a good husband. But if you look at his talent/skill set, he’s basically a Renaissance Man who was great at every job Viserys put him in… Swordsman? ☑️ Warrior/fighter? ☑️ Dragon rider? ☑️ Commander of the City Watch? ☑️ Master of coin? ☑️ Master of laws? ☑️ He’s great as a knight, prince, protector, dragon rider, chief of police, treasurer, lawyer, and he gambled and won a lot of money from it. He was popular among the common folks, hence, Lord Flea Bottom. He wasn’t some jack of all trades but master of none. He excelled in all those jobs. That’s a cool character to enjoy and to watch. His charisma and sense of humor similar to Han Solo are just gravy. Team Green: Daemon is an asshole! He killed his wife and nobody seems to care. But when Criston kills Laenor’s gay lover, everyone hates on him! You know, Team Green/Booger, that’s true. There is a double standard that Daemon gets. But Daemon killing his first wife, was that any worse than Anakin doing what he did killing innocent children? But isn’t Anakin/Vader the most popular character in Star Wars? I think Vader is the bigger asshole but fans still worships him including me. The Joker killed and fans still love him. Loki killed and that Loki series is my all-time favorite on Disney+. Tony Stark can act like an asshole but Iron Man is still the most popular character in MCU. Same with Johnny Lawrence in Cobra Kai. Homelander is my favorite character in The Boys. I’m not rooting for Daemon because he’s perfect or he’s some saint. He’s far from being a saint. I root for Daemon because he’s an excellent all-around character. He’s versatile, complex, and practical to be allies with. I’m hearing Aemond this season is obsessed trying to be like his uncle. He worships him like Kylo Ren was a Sith poser because he idolized Darth Vader so much. Aemond is Daemon’s No. 1 stan. Like Kobe and LeBron idolizing Michael Jordan by imitating him, wearing his No. 23, and making a Space Jam movie. Aemond = the pretender to the throne He’s the cheap, fake imitation of the real one known as DAEMON TARGARYEN. Aemond is the most badass character from Team Green when he will never be as legendary as his uncle. Root for the wannabe but he isn’t beating the OG. Daemon = Darth Vader Aemond = Kylo Ren Daemon = Heisei/MonsterVerse Godzilla Aemond = 1998 Zilla Daemon is basically Jaime and Tyrion if they were one person. Add Bronn’s sense of humor and some Loki being a second son who wanted the throne but still loved his brother like Jaime and Tyrion had for each other. And Loki is regarded the best character in MCU. Iron Man is the more popular character but Loki had the far greater story arc.

@@m.williams4971 Because it directly informs what moves the North and the characters down South. It enriches a character that we have seen nothing of so far. Jace's diplomatic victories are important in setting up what is to follow. The relationship between between the heir to the Iron throne and the warden of the north is important. By not laying the groundwork, you cannot fulfill the payoff later. Jace's fate loses impact, as does Cregan's conviction.
For some reason THIS Cregan just isn't doing it for me. I imagine someone totally different when I read the book. A big, burly bearded northerner. This guys.... Not so much 😅
I enjoyed HOTD, but to be honest, I'm not very hyped for S2 and it has multiple reasons. 1. 2 years wait is just wait too long, especially when people have a careers, families and don't have that much time to binge-watch to remember every difference between books and show. 2. This season will only have 8 episodes. After 2 years, only 8 episodes. That is just lazy. I think material of book is for like 5 full 10 episodes seasons, so this is very weird path HBO is taking
Theon Stark was THEE MOST BADASS stark 😂 the guy invaded the invaders and mounted their heads on spikes along the northern coast to deter other invaders, went beyond the wall to squash a wilding army and a bunch of other things. Theon Starks shits on all the starks😂 imo
No doubt he'll be a cool character and important ally for rhaenyra but you're really overestimating this man's importance to the overall story the writers of this show are trying to tell. This is a Targaryen story first and foremost and the fact that not one review (so far) has pointed to him being a highlight or standout tells me all I need to know.
The whole Ned is some naive honorable fool thing is a little bit overblown… Go back and actually read/ pay attention to his actions and plan in King Landing… His biggest mistake was believing and trusting his own wife.. Which can you blame him? He isn’t Little Finger… but he isn’t some bumbling fool so naive of politics and danger that he gets himself killed. Definitely more nuanced
Why "16 years old child is as scary as that sound" just because our generation is late bloomer? I think 16 years old is perfect age to rule or in general given responsibility to.
