I bought THIS petticoat! I'm so excited to have it hanging in my closet :) For shorter people, like me - I'm 5'4" - and heels are NOT an option due to a bad back, I simply took out the top hoop and threaded the waist string through there. Works awesome! Also, works beautifully under the pink/white tutu! When I make my Kaylee Frye/Firefly/Layer Cake Dress costume, my hoop skirt cover is only going to need two bottom ruffles under the tutu! Perfect poofiness :)

LOL! You're so silly...I've gotten a couple different styles from Angel's Bridal, nice little crinolines for the price and now they've got flat waistbands (but the smallest size is 24" so they sort of hang on the corset.

hey dear, i'm just confused about my wedding dress, is it necessary to wear a petticoat over crinoline? what if i just wear this crinoline and put on my wedding gown, no petticoat. kindly help!

Yes, some people wear just the hoop skirt under their wedding gown. The corset helps to distribute the weight of the hoop skirt (and optional petticoats) so it doesn't sit on your hips and dig into your skin, so I personally find that wearing a corset underneath a hoopskirt makes it more comfortable for all-day wear. Fluffy petticoats overtop of the hoopskirt helps to hide the "hoops" (boning) so the skirt of the dress looks smooth and moves around more nicely. But they are optional, it depends on what you are comfortable with, and how perfectionistic you might be about the final result.

i have a question, now if im making a dress that will be acompanied by a hoop skirt, should i make the dress longer??

+Ro Draws Yes, great question! If you think of a right angle triangle, you know that the hypotenuse is always longer than the other two sides. Now imagine your legs as the height of the triangle. Then the hypotenuse of that triangle is the length that your skirt needs to be with a hoop over it. :) This could be calculated, but it's probably easier to just make the skirt longer than you need and then hem it to the right spot after a fitting with your hoop skirt underneath.

Hi dear! (omg you and your crinolines are amazing) I have a question: how to clean / refresh a crinoline or a steel pannier without having to remove the circles? Or is it necessary to remove? Thank you so much!

If the hoops are a nylon-coated steel (not plastic), I would put the crinoline on a dress form and use a steamer and run it along the fabric between the hoops. But if your skirt has plastic boning, or steel that's not covered by a waterproof coating, I wouldn't use steam on it because it might warp the boning or encourage rusting. If you want to run the fabric through the wash, I would remove all the boning. :)
