I'm a big Bama fan but I love Dabo!! Clemson and Alabama have a great rivalry going. Hopefully, we will meet again this year. I hope Clemson has another great year.Roll Tide!!
i'd love to see another clemson/bama match-up.. i'm predicting a perfect 15-0 clemson championship this year... but, i'm fully aware that bama will be a roadblock that will not be easy to get around.. but,.. we'll see..
Totally agree, Dabo is one helluva coach and seems like a truly terrific guy. As a lifelong Bama fan I'd love to see him come home to Bama after Coach Saban retires, but I honestly couldn't knock him at all if he stays at Clemson for life considering all he's done for the program. It will be a great battle again this year if the Tide and Clemson meet. RTR!
yeah.. i just don't see dabo leaving clemson. this is HIS program.. he can make clemson what bama is... and why, oh why, would you want to be THE standard at one program,... just to go to another program and live in the shadows of their ex-coach? i'm not saying he won't... but, i just don't see why he would.
Same, lifelong Alabama fan, and have much love and respect for Clemson and Dabo, fantastic program and a really nice fanbase. Always look forward to playing them, RTR!
@@roguelead72 which your making my point as all those teams are ranked teams. Clemson has no argument playing trash teams all season. Being a Power 5 school. I hope alabama doesn't go to the playoffs
@@roguelead72 my friend.. pointless talking about Clemson schedule. Everyone embraces cupcake culture rushing the field after wins against high schools.Enjoy the rest of your day
Thanks luke for noticing that. I don't really have a favorite team and i just appreciate what all teams do. I'm always unbiased because sports are for everyone, they bring people together and create values that last a lifetime. To hate on a team or system is just silly in my opinion unless they're actually breaking rules or something crazy. Like this ohio state stuff and the new england patriots are teams and schools i admire. Even through the controsversty i see through it and notice how much good they bring.
What a journey for Dabo, barely playing at Bama, working real estate wondering if the right opportunity would come to coach again and then boom, you’re winning 10 games a year easily, that’s so hard to do nowadays and he makes it routine, what a great football coach
salute to Dabo and the Clemson Tigers from a canes fan. we're in a similar situation with manny Diaz being a 1st time HC. hopefully he can build us back up to an elite level soon.
Just sweep that Orange Bowl performance away like it barely happened. TBH it was that game that made them focus on defense more and lead them to the dynasty they are. There's nothing wrong in a video like this pointing out the down performances, especially when they were a clearly defining turning point for the better lol
I live in WV, which was trying for a Clemson grad after that game. Going into it, neither team had shown much on defense but were blowing it up offensively. My neighbors asked me who was going to win and I told them "which defense steps up". But, Look at the directions of the two teams now. It was a wake up call that Clemson dearly needed. Since then, defense has been the anchor of the team.
Hey everyone I’m currently writing the downfall of Baylor football and I have a college game day story video planned for next Saturday! I want to do some sort of polling for which video I should do next after Baylor so just let me know what you really want! I’m thinking a story about Miami Hurricanes football or What Happened To Texas Longhorn Football! Thanks and enjoy the weekend!
I would love to see a video about Miami football, particularly how Howard Schnellenberger built that program from an afterthought in the state to a national champion.
Great clip, but Dabo built Clemson by being a tremendous builder of men first imo. What you see is what you get with Dabo, a devoted Christ follower that happens to Coach football! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, IMO the best Coach in College football!! Go Tigers
Couldn't agree more danny! He does it the right way as well, he might view the world a certain way but i don't think he would ever judge someone! He is an excellent person and someone i would love to sit down with someday!
I’m so glad this channel was recommended to me by RU-vid. This is quality work and to listen to someone who is well informed on the sport I love is amazing. Keep up the great work
Thanks brother I really appreciate you commenting all of that! Definitely makes me really excited to create more! If you need anything or have a video idea just let me know bro 😄
Hands down this is the most knowledgeable college football channel I’ve found on RU-vid. I don’t feel you’re biased to a certain team and really throw in all the facts. If Scott Frost Does well at Nebraska id love for you to do a video on us someday! GO BIG RED!!!!
Thanks brother! I defiantly don't favor any schools and try to keep everything even! Glad you found the channel and Scott Frost is about to change your school! So glad he came home for you and expect a exciting year obviously! Might do a video about him very soon!
@@bubbaclemson5566 Very true, but to say that the quarterback transition went straight from Boyd to Deshawn is not true. IIRC, Stoudt played most/all of the Athletic Bowl that year when we rolled on Oklahoma.
People said that Chad Morris was the reason for Dabo's success and if Chad were to leave things would fall apart especially if Watson couldn't play. For the Athletic bowl that year Chad Morris left at the end of the regular season and Dabo put in two assistants in as Co-Offensive Coordinators. People said Dabo was crazy for doing that. Watson decided to go ahead and have his knee operation before the bowl game. Dabo was left without Watson or Chad Morris and had to play Oklahoma/ I forget the spread on that game but few people gave Clemson much of a chance. Cole Stout played his best game by far and the twin coordinators were the reason. Morris had based his offense that year around Watson and didn't call plays to take advantage of the vastly underrated Stout. Tony knew what Stout could do and called plays based on Stout's game rather than Watson's and it took Oklahoma and the general public by surprise. Oklahoma was soundly whipped that night outting Clemson and Dabo up toward the top of the college football world. It still took a couple more seasons to finally prove that Dabo is the man. His Assistants and players are up there also but the common denominator has been Dabo.
Im an FSU fan but Dabo is my favorite coach. He took lessons learned from Tommy Bowden and the Bowden tree on how to care for your players like family. He also understands his own limitations as a coach and wasnt afraid to go pay Chad Morris big bucks to be his offensive coordinator and basically left money out of what he could have gotten for his self. The same with coach venerables. Lastly Dabo has full control of his own ego. He is the next Bobby Bowden in my opinion. Clemson is almost in the same situation as FSU in the 90's.
@@martinsmallwood2399 yeah that's true. I'm from jacksonville FL, and Clemson has always recruited our area hard. So with Bowden being there and players like Dawkins and Patrick Sapp back in the day, I've always kinda rooted for them except when they played the Noles. Also gallman is related to me through marriage so I had to root for them against Bama. Good luck this year except when you come to Tallahassee😁
It begs the question, what exactly was Dabo/Clemson offering to lure 5 star recruits to a university in the middle of cow pasture nowhere SC, with subpar facilities, hadn't won a championship or accomplished anything meaningful in 3 decades with an unproven coach with no pedigree or brand name appeal. I'll give you a hint. Look at Ole Miss. prior to winning championships, Clemson was paying to bring 5 star recruits there. Now that they're out of the risky part of that equation, he can sell past performance and a pipeline into the NFL. But if anyone is naive enough to think Clemson didn't cheat their way into relevancy, you're just not paying attention.
Mack in 2012? They had what could only be described as mediocre facilities and a bunch of coaches who had ZERO established resume. When Clemson was getting 5 star recruits with inferior facilities, coaches who hadn't accomplished anything from a program that hadn't been relevant in 2 decades, you know they were paying
Truth be told Gus Malzahn helped him as well. Dabo reached out to Gus after the 2010 season. He wanted a new offense to run and Gus referred him Chad Morris out of Tulsa where Gus came from. Chad learned his offense from Gus and even with a bad defense in 2011 Boyd and Cole and Chad gave them a new offense. Now with Veneables. Just have to give Dabo credit for finding 2 under rated assistants at that time
for playing in a trash conference and having one of the weakest schedules in the country? sweet give bama, lsu, osu, oklahoma, even michigan that schedule and theyd go undefeated
Thanks Brendan! Just happy people are starting to watch! I feel like i have some great ideas and i just can't wait to show the stories i tell. Happy you enjoy bro!
So if Watson made Dabo, how did they go 10-4 in 2011, 11-2 in 2012, and 11-2 in 2013? They didn't have Watson for half the year in 2014, and in two games they did have him he was either playing with an injured shoulder/knee and then played South Carolina with no ACL and still went 10-3. So how did that occur if Watson was the only reason Dabo is considered a great coach? Clemson lost 75% of its 2016 offensive production and still went 12-2 in 2017 without Watson and with a QB that has a hard time hitting the broad side of a barn at least 10 times a game. I mean shit, Clemson went from having a QB that threw for 4600 yards and 41 TD in 2016 to a QB that threw for 2800 yards and 13 TD YET THEY STILL WENT 12-2!!!! Clemson lost its starting QB, RB, #1 & #2 WR and starting TE from a 2016 top 5 offense nationally, replaced every single one of those guys with players that had taken the most marginal of snaps and STILL went 12-2!!!! How can you deny the talent and coaching that Clemson possesses? When Lawrence gets under center it's gonna be 4 wide WR formations and I guarantee Clemson will have another 4000 yard QB and at least 2 1000 yd WR in Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross. Clemson isn't going ANYWHERE so the haters can suck tailpipe as we ride by them playing the gap band.
@@4rcowboy Better recruits in GA, period. When Ford came along things evened up, Clemson was pulling very good players from Ga and Fla... Vince Dooley went on record about not play Clemson anymore due to be a tough out of conference game, he was soley responsible for the series stoppage. Clemson really wanted the keep the series going due to fan support and rivalry implications..
I love dabo, he’s amazing in the coaching realm and off the field, I just wish the acc wasn’t so terrible... he knows what he has, one of the best teams every year and also in the worse conference by far, from now on until the acc gets better he won’t lose a game until possibly the playoffs
Good video. One day I thought to myself in angst, "hold on how did Clemson rise to the top? they used to be in the shitskirts of the ACC and now they're number 1????"
I gave Dabo a lot of respect for turning Clemson (one of the founding members of the ACC) back into a powerhouse team and go on to win their second and third National championships.
For sure, he should get a great job just like Kirby Smart got one in georgia. He played at kansas state so maybe when snyder retires? But i could see him getting a much bigger job than that as well.
@@ColeAdams TBH he gets paid the exact same amount at Clemson as he would at K state so money isn't a draw. He gets the best recruits in the country in fertile territory surrounding SC, Kansas State has to compete with everyone in the Midwest for Texas recruits so that's not a draw either. He has also said he doesn't want the added responsibilities of a head coach and prefers the defensive side of the ball better. And he has said his kids literally grew up in Clemson, Jake his oldest son has already graduated at a local HS and was a 3 star ILB that plays for Clemson and he has another son who is coming to clemon in 2020. He has two more daughters alsoin the local school system and it's the only school system and friends that they've known their entire lives. Clemson is home to him and Dabo now, I just don't see Dabo ever leaving and Brent very well could stay for another ten+ years.
Great video! Coming from a lifelong Bama fan here, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Clemson and Dabo, these guys just get out there and put on a tremendous performance everytime. A very fun team to watch led by a true class act of a coach. Hope we get a chance to see Bama and Clemson again this yeah. RTR!
Thanks! RTR! Glad you show respect to Clemson as well. I don’t like seeing the same teams win, BUT I have such a huge amount of respect for how Dabo Built clemson and how Coach Saban turned around Alabama football!
anybody saying a deshuan watson made a dabo successful i think its switched i think dabo made deshuan successful u just have to think how good there defense is
I really love your videos and don't think there are enough CFB youtubers like you to share the great game. But I must critique that your music cuts many times are too sudden! They just don't flow well sometimes and feel very awkward. I love your videos so don't take this as hate but I hope this problem improves because sometimes they kill your videos for me. Once again, love the channel and keep uploading though!
Thanks! Good to know, should i just go with like 1 or 2 music clips throughout the whole video and overlay them so it just sounds like a extended version? I just worry the same audio clips make the videos boring.
Hey Cole, I have been a sub for a while and you have inspired me to have a College Football analyst channel and I was wondering if you could give me a shoutout. Please I just really am such a fan and it would be unbelievable if I could grow because of an inspiration like you.
Steroids and extra benefits built that! They have a player that’s on his 3rd new car ……… not sure how they’re able to buy $60k SUVs and add custom paint and wheels…… but they’re managing
The hand of God himself is on Dabo Swinney. I believe that with all my heart. Dabo is a good man a Godly Man and the Lord has built him up. And lucky me, he signed a football for me
8yr/27 mil contract. They got a steal with Dabo on that contract. Don't forget Dabo mom was a single mom and she lived with him in his place while he attended Bama. He made sure his mom never had to work the rest of her life. Much respect to Dabo upstanding guy. Im a big Gator fan, but its nice to see young coaches take over and dominate. Saban had a good run.
Could’ve beefed up the 7 second “people didn’t think he was up to the task” section if you had mentioned that he convincingly lost to his in-state rival 5 years in row. I’m just trying to make you a better teller of stories.
I think it helped that FSU transformed into a giant turd and was no longer a threat. That was the mountain they always had to get past and now it is not even a bump in the road. Anyone else remember the 2012 Orange Bowl? I thought the whole staff would be fired after that game.
How? Easy. Schedule a bunch of cupcake teams all season to leave you with 2 tough games to play at the end of the season after any issues your team may have are worked out. What a fraud
You want to make a video on how Western Carolina can suck year after year? (I’m a fan by the way ) but god it stings year after year even though we are so close to all of these great football schools
While watching the video I thought to myself, "this guy must have a couple 100k subs." While you don't yet, if you really want it, and you're willing to keep working for it, you will. Best of luck brotha man!
