Everything you do is dangerous, you can't just put a tag on Kayak fishing and say it is dangerous, crossing the street without looking is more dangerous, just don't be stupid and do stupid things.

Hell yeah it's dangerous. Dumb ass boat owners that want to get right up on you going way above the no wake limit causing unnecessary waves. God forbid if one of us gets hit. Fog and wind can set in at anytime. I fish in the ocean so occasionally sharks will get curious but I'm skinny so they just keep it moving lol. Ever get sea sick while miles away from shore? This guy did and it's no fun. But I always tell my wife it's not dangerous and not to worry 😉

You should mention if you have Cattails around there I flipped my kayak in a creek that had Cattails growing into it and they acted like Barb's that once I was in I was stuck and if it wouldn't be for the fact that I had friends I never should have ever ventured into that Marsh if I moved for a second then I was done to my chin and one shot something that is super dangerous is a cattail Marsh

Alex, great video it’s good to make people to think about safety. Be prepared with gear, and be smart about the weather conditions. One thing we have to think about up north is the 120 rule, that is if the water and air temps don’t add up to 120 you should have drysuit on. Also, you made a comment that made me thing about demo you could do in the futures and that is a PFD comparison. The comparison could revolve around wether or not the PFD would flip a unconscious person over to a face up position. I know all will keep a person afloat but I don’t know if they will flip you over. This just suggestion for the future. Thanks for time and keep up the work.

We had case this May of a Kayak fisherman drowning in Australia so yes kayak fishing is potentially dangerous. I don't know all the facts but it looks like he placed himself in dangeous offshore conditions in an unsuitable craft and without necessary safety equipment. If you take sensible precautions, check the weather, take your safety gear, tell someone where you are going etc. then I think kayak fishing is quite safe.

Difficult decision indeed, let's break it down, rs117 will be faster, and lighter and easier to handle off the water but it will be more expensive and less stable, what's important for you?

I almost got run over by a boat once i know most of you guys saw the video, in my opinion inshore is very safe as long you take the safety precautions like Aliex said, but offshore can be more dangerous for many reasons like boaters , strong currents, weather, and very important and scary giant octopus and squids 🐙 those are scary to 🤪💪

Ok I got a tough one for you. The sportsman salty, vibe, pelican, or lighting kayak. These are all under 2,000. Which one is the fastest, the most stable, and the one the is the most comfortable and has the best accessories.

Honestly, I’ve never felt in danger on my kayak. You mitigate your risk by wearing a PFD, have a whistle, use a flag , watching the weather, and letting people know where your kayaking. This isn’t hard stuff. Lol
