I know what you mean. I think playing in public is very important to her. It's not some kind of punishment or diminishment as she appears to draw energy and satisfaction from these street performances. Anyway, I'm glad she does it, because I couldn't afford to fly out to California every week to hear/see her play.

She learns two pop covers per week, one per hour - all by ear. She learns classical music from sheet music. She has about 300 pop pieces in her head - continuously elaborating on them and improvising new variants. She also sings beautifully and develops her young voice magnificently by regular lessons. I simply can't wait what happens to her singular voice when it matures. She takes ballet lessons to bring her dancing into perfect conjunction with the music she plays. Sometimes she accompanies her singing by guitar that she also plays well. Recently she took up piano lessons and shows quite a progress within few months. Violin is second nature to her - actually she seems to grown together with it as one entity. Her music comes straight from her wonderful deeply feeling soul. She is probably the best teenage popular violinist in the world at the moment. Karolina loves to play classical music and is very good with this, but her direction seems to lie in becoming world's top popular artist. She is the most watched young YT artist on the planet - 1,5+ billion views. And she is barely 14 from October 3rd! All of her musical career lies ahead. We are all blessed to have her as she is.

Playing without sheet music is no criteria of talent. Almost all solo performers play from memory, including just pupils. What makes Karolina super talented is ability to learn and compose all of these covers by ear, perform them from the bottom of her very soul and be as one entity with her violin. Having an inexhaustible memory (300 covers in her head), improvisation skills, self-assurance etc. This is what makes serious talent. Much more amazing is the fact of ability to play perfectly while dancing. This is much harder than learn a piece to memory. She also plays classical music beautifully from memory, having learned it previously from sheet music.

I presume they have discussed this with her classical violin teacher mr. Sam Fischer.
