Keep an eye on him, because you will want to "remember when" you knew this incredibly talented young man. He is going to be SO famous. I hope it doesn't screw him up. Pure, unadulterated talent. Wow. His parents must be so proud of him.

what a beautiful feel! Whats incredible about Hass is very obvious to me, just by sorting through his RU-vid videos. From Adam Rogers, to John Scofield, to David Garfield, Patti Austin and Keiko Matsui. EVERYTHING the guy plays is appropriate in every genre. He changes styles in an instant with deep authenticity and no ego. As great as some of my other versatile favorites are, like Brian Blade or Steve Gadd for instance, they are too caught up in being original and the music suffers unless it's a perfect fit. They are limited to their identifiable sound. You can always tell it's them. I love and respect that. They are Gods of drumming. I've been told stories about certain drummers being replaced in the studio because they didn't fit the style of the song. Many of the greats seem to always bring the same strong personality to the song. The music has to suit them, otherwise it's not a great match. With what I've seen from Hass though , he fits into the music. The music doesn't have to fit him. In fact, I'm not even sure what type of drummer I can call him. That's extremely special in my opinion. Depending on the music, his personality alters, his sounds alters and his attitude alters. I have yet to find this flexibility in another name drummer. I love the sounds and feel here.
