You have not researched the story well enough. You are taking it from the perspective of a western person and biased. You should ask Malaysians what they think about their King before spilling some inaccurate information on the web.

I admired the last Agong, the Sultan of Pahang who fulfilled his constitutional duties and obligations, protecting Malaysia's constituted patriotic values. With the grace of God, the present Sultan of Johor will also fulfil his constitutional duties and obligations in his term. Dualat Tuanku.
I like the King's straightforward attitude and the fact that he acknowledged there should be tolerance for non-Muslims in terms of religion and culture. This King is respectful of all the citizens and rightfully so because Malaysia is a multiracial country.
It's humbling to know that the king is involved in charity organisations and raise the awareness of the needs of his people. We want to see this part more often and his 'ordinary ' life of his family. Long live the Sultan and his wife!

@@kahhowong3417 im sure he will do all that and more. He was always a stern person. Unfortunately Ive never got to meet him, however hearing stories from my friends father who works for him; he is praised to be the kindest but strictest person that demands discipline. For paraphrase of comprehension: “a monarchy, a king is Head of State. The Malayan Monarchy is known as a constitutional monarchy. This means that, while The Sovereign is Head of State, the ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament.”
@@peterkovinski8476 One of its kind in the world, none other like the Malaysian Constitution Monarchy System of electing one of the State Monarch to be the Federal Monarch for a 5-year term. Its main responsibility is the election of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) and his deputy, the Timbalan Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which occurs every five years or when the positions fall vacant (either through death, resignation, or removal from office). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conference_of_Rulers#:~:text=Its%20main%20responsibility%20is%20the,%2C%20or%20removal%20from%20office).

@@omaronnyoutube wtf high king? Is the king of Malaysia, that’s it,9 other malay ruler is not King of Malaysia, they are King of Perlis,Kedah,Perak,Kelantan,Terengganu,Pahang,Selangor,Negeri Sembilan and Johor,Yang di Pertuan Agong is King of Malaysia.
I hope the new king can lift the people of Malaysia out of poverty. With his wealth he should contribute 10% if his annual income to help the poor & give scholarships to talented young people who cannot afford tertiary education.
Haiyya, that's his hard earned money. Why do the Royal Highness needs to contribute 10% of it to the poor? There are many businessmen in Malaysia. More billions than him, may be we can also asked them the same 10%.
Like the king before him, he will try to prioritise his own state first. I'm 100% the Economic zone (SEZ) between the Singapore-Johor border will happen.
Nahhhh.... this king sold water to singapore much cheaper then his own rakyat. Toook land to huild fotress forest city for chinese mainland n singaporean
The purpose of his annual bike convoy trips around the state of Johor known as 'Kembara Mahkota Johor', which started since 2001 when he was the Crown Prince and well before he became the Sultan of Johor, was not actually for the purpose of tourism and raising funds (those are secondary objectives) but to actually 'go to the ground' and personally see for himself how his subjects are doing in their daily lives. That's why you can see him in photos calmly sitting on the wooden floor of a villager's house, listening to the villagers telling him about their lives and problems while having tea and snacks with them or eating with his entourage at roadside stalls or even attending weddings or events while his subjects came to him to directly socialize with him and tell him directly of their hopes and needs. An incredible man and the only royalty in Malaysia that I know who does this (the bike convoy) on yearly basis. Whenever he says 'jangan main-main dengan rakyat beta' / 'don't play around with my subjects' or something to that effect, people listen because he actually goes down on the ground to actually check on them.
He should push for a third and fourth link to Singapore. This would greatly help Johor residents working in Singapore and also boost the economy of Johor and hence Malaysia.
@@AnthonySng-c2mnot really. 1. There are shorter ones like months and even days. 2. They're already monarchs in their own state and he's a billionaire so he doesn't care much. Long live the king 👑❤
Down to earth, humble, "King of Hearts", just like the Queen. Goes down to the roots to get to know the people's plight and improve their lives for better future.. A excellent role model for all future leaders.. If only they can be King and Queen for life, and restore the lost glory of Malaysia.. Salute and Respect the King and Queen and the Royal family.
Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Iskandar of Johor, is not the King of Malaysia, but is the current sitting Constitutional Monarch, which in a democratic parliamentary Malaysia is by Constitution, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and who is is formally elected to a five-year term by and from the nine rulers of the Malay states (nine of the thirteen states of Malaysia that have hereditary royal rulers).
@@kilatpetir5115 Bro; Malaysia has a modern Constitutional Monarchy and called Agong which is an institution; very different to the meaning of King which refers to the feudal absolute monarchy.
@@aizleyshahar2613 You are "Lost in translation". I was talking strictly about Malaysia's Constitutional Monarchy; and I did not say that Britain today is a feudal absolute Monarchy. Modern UK is not an absolute Monarchy, as it is limited by Britain's un-codified constitution since historical precedence set by Britain Magna Carta; which began to take the U.K. out of a feudal absolute Monarchy. What I did say is that Malaysia is a Democracy and a Constitutional Monarchy which is an institution. Bye for now, my good friend.

It's win win at national level. Although many will claim that sultan is only interested in increasing the value of his lands (ermm... What's wrong for any Agung to increase value - economic value - of land in any city?)
He has some difficult Decisions to make & Think He Will come Out on Top … For Starters, he’s poised to revisit the “ Batu Putih “ Issue that TDM did not follow thru …
Long live our King & Queen. I know our Country is in good hands under his reign & pray for our multi-racial, beautiful Malaysia is lifted up minus the corruption. 🙏.
It is easy to be gracious when one is that rich, but most rich people are ungracious. “Fighting corruption” has often been the motto of politicians and the elites, however when they attain power they too are corrupted by the power of the day…unless one is a philosopher king.
Uh, Malaysia's not a Monarchy, more like a Federal Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchy. Even the Monarchy part is more like a rotational elective Monarchy where the different Sultans of different states within the country takes turns to become the Agong (King).
There are different types of monarchy. The "monarchy" is not just Absolute Monarchy as people would like to assume when they think about a country with a King or Emperor as the head of state.
Malaya ( about the size of England) is that part of Malaysia where all the 9 state kings live. Perlis, a state with an area of 819 sq km also has a king.
@@afniadnan3439 Sultan is title use by all the king of 7 malays state out nine malays state. only the kings from Negeri sembilan and Perlis dont use sultan their title. but they are still from royalt bloodlines. The YDPA is the supreme leader among of the 9 kings/sultans as the head of the malaysia federation. The YDPA (Yang dipertuan Agong) is like the title of chinesse emperor during chinesse empire exist. the chinesse emperor rules many small countries and their kings must obeyed the emperor. but its different with malays kings/sultans, there are sharing their power equally to rule the countries. that why every 5 years the position of YDPA will be rotates among them. this is what the sultans/kings agree when they unites malay states to form the federation of malays land (Persekutuan Tanah Melayu) before malaysia exist and before borneo also unite with malaysia.

This is the time to fight the corruption. The new king will do it better than this before. Congratulations to Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar as a new king in Malaysia

He doesn't set a good example as an honorable King for breaching the constitution by getting involved in business activities, and his luxurious lifestyle does not resonate with Malaysians who live below the poverty line.
The newly-installed Malaysian King (Agong) and I are second cousins as both his grand father and my grand father were brothers, sons of Sultan Sir Ibrahim of Johor. What is less known is that the current Agong's father, Sultan Mahmood Iskandar, was cast aside as the Crown Prince of Johore for 20-years by his father and replaced by his younger brother, Tunku Abdul Rahman because of his controversial behavior. Only on his father's death bed, was Sultan Mahmood Iskandar (his father's favorite) restored as the Crown Prince of johor and shortly thereafter succeeded his father as Sultan of Johor on his father's death. Had this last-minute change not happened, the present Agong would not be sitting on the throne!
His Ancestor Maharaja Sir Abu Bakar bestie with Queen Victoria, later his son, Major General Sir Sultan Ibrahim well known as an anglophile, & Johore With British had diplomatic since 1886
The Chera Nadu in South India or the State of Kerala are the once who deviced this Unity Kingdom. Chera or Chernthu means unity and all of then select a King to lead them who will be know as the Cheran. Those in his Sabha or Sabai are know as Chera Avai Karar (Chervai) .

The modern Sultan of Johor is very unique. The only Sultan who wears a crown instead of the traditional Malay headdress which is tanjak or tengkolok. He has British ancestry and is a trained military man. Owns many businesses, among the richest rulers in the world. He is also often involved in various community activities. I, as a Malaysian, am very proud to have a king with a big heart. Daulat Tuanku.
Our new King is well loved in Johor by its people. I know because I was born there and live there still. Unity and peace is what he will now bring to the whole Malaysia. Long live our King !
I wish the new king best wishes and congratulations. I am so fortunate to have his cousin, Feroz, as my husband, and I loved my husband's mother very much. A family of genuine, caring, accomplished, tolerant and elegant persons. "Real" people. My husband and son and mother-in-law have always been a great blessing to my life. They are a truly wonderful family, and I am honoured to have been chosen as a wife by my loving husband. He has always been a great and loyal friend to everyone I know, and most especially to me. I can see why he is so wildly popular, and the family's history is one of accomplishment and renown. Long live the king!
I saw some videos said his history that he is actually not the true crown prince. When before the king dies and very sick, the real crown prince was in another country. The king cant speak well and was in bed very ill so he talked this son before he dies. This son later declared that his father announced him as the new crown prince and heir to the throne! Nobody able hear that but cant disobey. In another state, a king was ill and on the way driving to Singapore hospital but once the team of bodyguards were out of the palace, they were hijacked by special police teams with pointing machine guns. They brought him to some local hospital. Later the king was forced to abdicate to his son who conspired with the PM at that time.
