팩트입니다. 전 그들이 아이돌이라서 좋아하지 않아요. 빌보드 순위 집입시 아니 수상시 국내 언론 기사로 못봤기에 그 당시 방탄소년단 존재도 몰랐고, 아이돌 좋아햐는 세대도 아닐 뿐더러 국내 음악엔 관심조차 없었어요. 우연잖게 유투브에서 해외분들이 방탄소년단을 열광하는 리액션에 적잖은 충격 받았어요. 아니 왜? 듣보잡 한국 아이돌 가수에 왜? 호기심에, 너무 궁금해서 찾아보고 알아보다가 결정적으로 팬이된 포인트는 노래 가사였습니다. 중년세대인 저는 10, 20대의 풀리지 않은 악감정이 남아 나이를 먹어도 끊임없이 저를 괴롭혔어요. 방탄 음악으로 드디어 해답을 찾아 긴 악몽에서 벗어났습니다. 세상을 바라보는 시선이 변하니 생각도 변하고 암튼 행복의 날들을 만끽하고 있어요. 저와 같은 경우의 팬 분들이 국내, 국외 너무나 많다는... 미모가 뛰어나고, 춤 잘추고, 노래 잘하는 아이돌은 많아요. 진심이 전해진 아티스트는 방탄소년단이였다는 것! 방탄도 완벽하지 않아요. 그래서 더 좋아요. 정상의 위치에도 그들은 끊임없이 노력하는 모습을 팬들에게 새앨범 발매될 때마다 또 성장한 모습을 보여줍니다. 앨범 가사를 보면 이 친구들이 무슨 고민을 하는지 그래서 우리에게 무엇을 말하려는지 아미들은 가사부터 찾아보죠. 방탄소년단을 비방하고, 무조건 폄하하시는 분들에게 드리고 싶은 말은 언어가 다르고, 인종이 다른 전세계 나라에서 bts를 괜히 인정하고, 열광하는 것이 아닙니다. 그들도 배운 사람들이고 똑똑하신 분들이세요. BTS의 메세지가 진심으로 전해졌고 전세계 사람들의 심장을 움직이게 했다는!

맞습니다 그들은 아이돌을 넘었어요 저는 69세이고 아기때부터 팝송을 들으며 자랐다고할까... 나이차 많은 언니, 오빠덕에 50년대 팝송을 들으며 자랐죠. 제 자신 비틀즈 전성기 청소년이여서 수많은 팝송 듣고 한국노래는 두만강 같은 노래만 있던 시절에 조금 가수가 있었다고 할 73년에 미국와서 46년인데 지난 46년동안 수많은 장르의 음악 들으며 살았지만 비틀즈에 빠져본적도 없고 수많은 좋은 노래 있었지만 그 가수에는 빠진적이 없는데 은퇴후 작년 10월에 신문 보다가 방탄소년단을 알고 유튜브 찾다가 빠져서 지난 8개월 하루에 14시간 이상 영상 보고 기사 찾아보고 은퇴후 무료하고 내일 죽어도 후회는 없다는 생각도 가끔씩 하던차에 이젠 방탄때문에 새로운 세상과 빛을 받고 방탄을 오래 보고싶다는 생각에 잘먹고, 잘자고 방탄보다 잠들고 방탄 보려고 눈뜨고 그럽니다. 맞습니다 방탄은 아이돌을 넘었어요 미국 방송에서 방탄소년단을 볼때는 벅차고 감격해서 눈물까지 흘립니다.

대형기획사에서 데뷔하자마자 주목받고 띄워주는 기사에 무명시절도 없는 아이돌과 bts는 분명히 다르죠...그들이 무명시절 겪은 설움은 안겪어본 사람들은 몰라요..땜빵에 사전녹화분량도 잘리는경우도 많고 음방스케줄도 대형기획사 위주였고...지금의 bts는 그냥 이뤄낸게 아닙니다...그들의 시간.노력.땀 여러가지가 결합해 만들어진겁니다..

저는 방탄이 빌보드와 그래미에 갔는지 다 몰랐고 관심도 없었다가 4월에 작은시 뮤비보고 입덕했어요. 최근 가수인줄 알았는데 2013년도 데뷔에 놀랐고 이름을 알리기까지 긴 시간과 싸워야했더군요. 포기하지않고 지금까지 달려와준게 너무나 고마울정도입니다. 앨범마다 연결고리가 있고 그 안에 무수한 카테고리들이 존재하는 블랙홀같은 음악에 푹 빠져있어요. 누군가 말했던 게으른 스웩에 일침을 가한듯한 퍼포먼스까지 눈까지 즐거워지더라고요. 힘든 긴 터널을 걷고있는듯한 지금 제 상황에 방탄의 가사들은 가슴을 후벼파고 무릎을 탁 치게 만들기까지 했어요. 같이 공감하고 분노하고 슬퍼하지만 결국 같이 일어서자, 죽지말자, 이겨내자라는 메세지에 저도 희망을 가슴에 품고 있답니다. 다시한번 이들을 통해서 선한 영향력이 무엇인지 알게되었고 비난과 폭언으로 나 자신을 나락으로 떨어트리지않고 사랑해야겠다는 생각이 강하게 들었어요. 슈가말처럼 언젠가 추락이 아닌 안전한 착륙을 하는 날이 올테지만 그때도 우린 함께 오늘을 추억하며 웃어보일 수 있길 간절히 바랍니다. 고마워요, 방탄♥

I really have to agree with you on this. Before knowing BTS, I was never interested in boy bands, and thought it was a waste of time. After knowing them, I found out that they were not only brilliant singers and dancers, but had moving lyrics, and the sweetest personalities. I seriously love them a lot now for who they are.😊

If I'm honest i was listening korean music like 10 years, about kpop i find something different with BTS .. I'm really special when i listen music and I'm not the person who just became a fan easily for any artist.... BTS really is unique for me.

You are right. BTS is successful because of who they are. The are different and stand out from the other Korean groups. It's because of the whole package, including their work ethics, creativity, personality, performance, musical and dance skills. They are also very genuine people. They are open and friendly. Truefully care and love their fans. Also they are unique as a group. My suggestion to other groups is there is no point in trying to copy them, be yourselves and work hard to become successful. Do something unique to you that is valued and appreciated. You will succeed.

솔직히말해서 지금까지 히트급의 성공은 한곡이 빵 뜨고나서 그때 전성기를 맞이하고 사람들인식에 그사람의 성공은 그시절로 기억에 남아요 근데 방탄은 뭐랄까...계단식?한곡이 빵떠서 대중들의 인식에 남는게아니라 걍 몇년동안 얘네가 변함없이 열심히하고 잘하니까 팬덤이 붙는것같아요 요즘시대에서 아이돌은 물론이고 한 노래가 강남스타일이나 거짓말 지 으르렁처럼 메가히트를 치기가 어려운시대잖아요 옛날처럼 연예인이 적은것도아니고...근데 방탄이 예능에 나와서 인지도를 쌓는것도아니고 드라마에 나와서 인지도를 쌓는것도아닌데 이렇게 잘되는건 걍 얘네가 열심히 하니까 그걸 알아주는 팬들이 단단해지기때문이라고 생각해요

첨엔 25세의 아이돌이 유엔 연설을 한다고해서 정말 놀라서 방탄을 찾아보게 됐죠. 알면 알수록 감동이더군요. 그들이 전하고자하는 진심어린 메세지를 더많은 사람들이 알게 됐으면 좋겠어요. 빌보드! 정말 대단한 일들을 해낸거고 국내에서 제대로 인정받지 못하는거같아. 안타까울뿐입니다. 저도 갠적으로 군대면제 찬성이예요.

그룹명이 독특하구나 하고 지나쳤드랬죠 아이돌 걸그룹 관심이 없었으니까요 해외 시상식 소식을 접하고 아 뭐지? 그때부터 여기저기 뒤져보기 시작했고 노래를 들어보고 가사를 보면서 울고있는 제자신을 보고말았죠 울나라에 널리고널린게 여러장르의 음악들인데 노래를 들으며 울어본 기억이 거의 없거든요 방탄은요 슬픈노래를 불러 사람들을 울리는게 아니예요 많은 사람들의 가슴 깊은곳에 접어두었던 꿈이란걸 먼지를 일으키며 들춰내게 만들어 공감 감동 동화되게 만들더라구요 잃어가는 자존감을 살려주고 정말 열심히 살아야겠다는 열정을 불어넣어주고 용기와 희망이란 단어를 친숙하게 만들어요 그들의 노래로 다가오는 메세지들이 이미 그들은 그냥 아이돌이 아니란걸 우리에게 보여 주었어요 이제 그들은 우리에게 인류평화의 메신저들입니다

BTS는 넘사벽. 평소 아이돌 음악이나 뮤비는 듣지도 보지도 않던 제가 일단 BTS건 틀고 봅니다. 물론 그닥인것도 있었지만 꽤 마음에 들던것도 많았어요. k pop 아이돌 음악의 최정점에 서있는 느낌. 거기다 뮤비가 없는 곡 중에서도 듣기만해도 플레이 리스트에 꽂아넣고 듣고 싶은 곡들이 꽤나 있다는 것. 간혹 해외 뉴스?에서 BTS나 k pop이 마치 급작스럽게 점령한 것처럼 묘사 되는 것이 이해가 안갔던게, BTS 빌보드 이야기가 나오기 이전 몇년전 부터 k pop 리액션 유튜브 영상이 심심찮게 나돌아 다녔습니다. 한국 음반 시장은 작기 때문에 중국이나 일본 더 나아가 아시아권을 지속적으로 공략 하지 않았나하는 개인적인 생각도 들구요. 더 나아가 서양권도 노리기 시작했죠. jyp, sm, yg 대형 기획사들도 지속적으로 도전했고..(YG하고 SM은 개인적으로 싫어하지만..) 길게 보자면 십수년에 걸쳐서 끊임없이 개척해온거고 현재 최정점에 서 있는게 BTS가 아닌가 싶네요. 개인적인 바램이라면 앞으로는 아이돌 음악만이 아니라 좀더 많은 한국 대중 음악이나 문화들이 개척이 되서 한국 문화가 세계의 중심점에서 트랜드를 이끌어 나가길 바랍니다.

BTS 군대 면제받는 일은 그들의 업적을 표창하는데 의미를 지나서 국가적 경제적 이익을 위해 당연히 해야 합니다.💜

저는 50대인데 빌보드에서 상받은 한국 아이돌이 있다라는 말을 들었을때 저는 단순히 3대기획사 소속의 아이돌이겠지 하고 생각을 했었습니다. 그리고 그저 한번 반짝하는 일인줄 알고 관심을 두지 않고 있었죠. 그러다가 해외 유튭을 감상중 자동재생으로 방탄의 영상을 보고 외국인들의 리액션에 충격을 받았죠 그 후 여러 리액션 영상을 보다가 방탄의 노래에 관심이 생겼고 그런다음 그들의 노래 가사를 찾아 읽어 보았습니다. 방탄의 노래는 저의 아이돌에 대한 편견을 완전히 바꾸었습니다. 나름 나이를 먹어서 다른 사람의 태도를 어느 정도 파악을 한다고 생각하는데 방탄을 보면 그들의 진심이 너무 느껴지고 팬들에 대한 그들의 태도는 정말 감탄스러울 정도입니다. 꾸미는 것이 아닌 그들의 진정성을 알 수 있게 되고 방탄의 노래가 저를 감동시키게 되었습니다. 그리고 뒤늦게 그들이 세계에서 인정받는 소형기획사 소속의 아이돌임을 알게 되어서 더더욱 놀라웠습니다. 진심은 나이와 성별 국적을 넘어서는 위대함이라는 것을 보여주는 파워있는 능력임을 방탄이 보여준것입니다. 자랑스럽고 사랑스러운 방탄소년단..... 그들을 앞으로도 많은 팬들이 지지하고 응원할거라 믿습니다.

사실 몇년을 꾸준히 듣다보니 올해는 유독 아이돌음악이 질리기 시작했는데 2018 말쯤에 방탄을 알게되고 노래에 푹 빠졌어요.. 유일하게 탄이들 노래는 가사를 보면서 노래의 의미를 알아보며 듣고싶은 노래들이 엄청 많거든요...노래가사들만 봐도 멤버들이 삶에 대해 얼마나 고민했는지 알수있고 철학적인 부분도 많이 담고있구요.. 거기에 데비초부터 지금까지 이어지는 스토리가 넘 신박하고 신기했고.... 또 팬들을 위한 컨텐츠들을 쉴새없이 쏟아내더군요... 소속사도 더불어 엄청 열일하는게 느껴집니다.

I wish all those so called 'experts' who appeared on TV talking abt why and how BTS become so popular in the world would listen to what you have just said here. Those 'experts' kept saying that BTS succeed because K-Pop is already made popular by Psy in the West. If so, then how come other BTS's senior idol groups that are very popular in Korea and Asia couldn't achieve the same feat, right? And I also think you are taking the right path with your company. Bang Sihyuk was also like you too, he didn't believe in following the well established path. He believes in his own principles and he was laughed at and ridiculed but in the end, who got the last laugh, right?

나랏일 하는 사람들은 저희 필요할 때만 방탄 인기 이용해 먹으려 안달이고, 정작 방탄에게 필요한 일은 외면 하네요! 한국을 알리고, 경제 살리는데 일조해도 알아주지 않으니...아마 한명 두명 군대를 가게되면 지금과 같은 인기를 누리기는 힘들겠죠. RM도 말했다시피 영원한 인기는 없다고...그래도 BTS가 훗날에도 레전드로 전설로 회자되길 바래 봅니다!

Koreans need to come on board with BTS on this Glorious Ride and stop whining about them coming from small company, not being in assistance for long like the big 3. Believed it or not, everyone blessings and chapter is different. It was meant to be for BTS to be where they are and secondly BTS was chosen to put South Korea on the map, if you know what I mean. South Korea is well known in the world and she will have people relocating there than ever before. People are going to learn the language and culture; therefore the prejudice between rich and poor gap will reduce. Little business people should be open minded and increase their capital now why BTS is pluming the economy. Hotels, restaurants, street food vendors, small businesses are all capitalizing on BTS success. This is a good thing for the little businesses and I hope they realize that. Some Koreans can be bitter and hate all they want, what have been promised above can never be change accept yourself make that change. The rich along with the Big 3 companies are damn mad with BTS great success and nothing they can do to slow it down or stop it as they have been doing with other companies. BTS CEO is a very, very smart guy who knows how to do his homework. Every country in the world want part of America pie. How many are studying or doing their research to know what is American taste or the new generation taste? The same question go to the Big 3, all of them are copying from America, hip hop, rapping swag all 9 yards and made it theres. BTS boys are very talented from the very beginning, all they needed was someone special who believed in them and to help bring their talent out. This is where Bighit the CEO came in and took those that were rejected now look at where we are. Everyone in South Korea is not handsome but there are people with great talents. This is where America is different from Asia or South Korea, America has more than 3 music agencies that are well known. why Korea only limit themselves to 3 major companies but yet still doing the same thing over and over. Bighit just change the game of South Korea Music Industry and the bottom line of BTS says it all. BTS success is the Message in their lyrics nothing else much, then the bonus is the power dance. Even if they were not giving power dance the message in their lyrics was still going to be listen to. Young folks are being bullied, committing suscide, depression, stress, low self-esteem; they need something to lift them up. Singing about regular love song is not going to cut it. Thank you for this! I'm a 67 year old author and international public speaker in an industry about as opposite to current pop music as you could get. An original Beatles fan too in the 1960's plus a lover of music all my life. I fell into K-pop in 2012 and went crazy loving everything - all the bands! It was so different from American or British pop. Then BTS hit me in 2013. It took until 2014 but I suddenly found myself veering away from all the other groups. At first it was the music and dancing, then it was their personalities on various SNS platforms. It took me two years - into 2016 - to even look up their lyrics and then I was completely blown away! BTS is the group I've waited for my entire long life. I've seen them nine times in person, plus attended 2017, 2018, 2019 BBMAs and the 2017 AMAs. They give me hope for the world and our young people. I wish I had a group like BTS, with their positive message, when I was a teenager. Everyone needs to discover BTS. In that process you will discover and love yourself!

To be honest I'm the last person who would like a kpop group because I hate kpop. I don't hate the artists but I hate the way kpop industry treated their idols so to me supporting the idols means supporting the corrupt industry. But I fell in love with BTS because they are different. Bighit don't treat them like other kpop companies do. Bighit give them a lot of freedom. This freedom allows their creativity and they grow into amazing artist and people. I think BTS has gone beyond kpop. I'm here for BTS-POP only!😉 BTS are able to convert GP like me into ARMY who are loyal only to them and that's how we make BTS successful😍

I've read so many analysis and your simple observation is spot on. Yes, its simply a culture made by Bighit, Bts and their fandom. They also went thru the same recruitment and training, with members talented in different entertainment aspects, dedicated fans but there were things Bighit thought to change. Bang PD gave leeway for the boys to interact with their fans in social media, most agencies would prohibit their trainees using a phone. They wore outfits with their name on it that would help people recognize each members. They intentionally released songs that talked about social issues, its controversial but also denotes they make meaningful, timely and relatable songs especially for youth of today. They created a storyline that runs across all their MVs and they kept events and activities for fans that would keep them on their toes even if BTS is on break. Not to mention having an underdog/Cinderella story that people can't help but emphatize and cheer for the boys. I'm a bts fan and they are deserving with everything they have right now but I give kudos to the people behind the boys who masterminded every aspect that would catch and lock all the fans that would fall on the bts rabbit hole, we are not complaining in that hole tho.

제가 좋아하는 수만가지 이유 중 하나가 방탄의 끈기 노력 입니다. 걔네들 돈 많잖어.. 라는 말 속으로는 맘아파요. 돈 많은데 지금도 뼈 부서질정도로 춤추고 전세계 돌면서 스타디움 투어하고(파스도 등에 덕지덕지. 심지어 부황자국) 미친 스케줄 계속 소화하고 앨범내고 ... 돈 많고 벌거 다 벌었으면 쉬도 되는데 지금도 팬들 위해서 본인들 도전 위해서 계속 하잖아요? 그정도 위치 갔는데 지금도 활동하는거 아무나 못한다고 전 단언컨데 말합니다. 그런 애들이었기 때문에 성공한거라고 말하고싶습니다. 멤버들 힘들어해서 포기하고 해체하고싶었다 작년연말시상식때 울먹거리며 말하고,, 심지어 뷔앱 라이브에서 사생한테 전화나 문자오고.. 돈 많은게 부러운 분들은 그것만 본거지 그걸 얻기위해 그리고 그 부와 명예를 감당하기에 희생해야할 것들은 못보는거죠. 그래서 전 아이돌 아무나 못한다 생각해요. 방탄때문에 그걸 깨달았어요. 정말 극한직업입니다. 열정없으면 진작 나가떨어지는 직업. 팬사랑으로 무대 서는 게 즐거워서 버티는.. 그거 아니고 겉멋에 부를 중시하면 대중들은 바보면서도 똑똑해서 오래 못가죠. 아미로서 방탄이 덜 아프고 건강했으면 좋겠어요 진심으로.. 학생때는 몰랐는데 다 크고 사회생활 직장인 되어보니까 아이돌 고충을 알거같아요.

For me, your words are 100% correct. I was looking up Dubai on RU-vid several years ago and a video came up that had BTS on the title. I didn't know what that meant. I started to watch the video. No idea what they are saying but I couldn't stop watching it because I really enjoyed how the members interacted with each other; laughing, and having fun. I didn't know who they were. I started to look up more videos and realized they were a boy group. I listened to their music and already liking them as individuals it made the music with great messages even more appealing. I really appreciate them and see how hard working they are. They had so many things against them and they didn't give up. They are an inspiration to people around the world.

I had never been in a fandom and I wasn't interested in it either, not even artists. I just listened to their songs (illegally) and that's it. It WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE LETTER what captivated me when I was 18. After a long time came the merchandise. I see them as friends, they make me feel that way for the way they are. I have never idealized them. I respect them a lot. So why did I spend more than 300€ ( 395.826,13 won )to go alone for the WEMBLEY concert? Why do I legally pay for your music and merchandise? Because I think it's worth it. Their cause and purpose convinced me

I'm in my 40s. I love music, art, poem, literature & philosophy. I happened to watch an explanation video of BTS song "Spring Day" on RU-vid. I was blow away by them. How can these young men be so talented and creative at the same time. They used a lot of reference from art, literature & philosophy book. Their lyrics were written in a way like poem and alot of time pierce thru my heart. I feel the pain even just by reading it. How amazing they can put their though in words. How can they express it so well. They can read my heart, my though & my pain so well. I watched a lot of their MVs, variety shows, performance shows & dance practice. I have let myself fallen deeply in this hole without any reservation.They taught me how to love myself, make me want to learn more things, read more & how to come to acknowledge with my weakness. I'm a happy person now. ARMY is also an amazing fandom that I'm deeply in love with. 💜💜💜

It makes me sad when someone says something about how the guys don’t deserve the success they are having - like do people not understand how hard they have worked for so long??? This was really interesting to watch. I always wonder what people who work inside the idol industry think about the whole development with BTS. I really want to write down my thoughts, story and a few questions. It will be a long text. I hope you don't mind. ^^" ~~~ I'm a 28 year old woman from Germany who is part of the ARMY. I'm someone who doesn't become a fan (or even become a part of a fandom) easily. I was a fan of one band before (a local german band), but I listen to a bunch of music of different genre. In ~2012 I got in touch with "k-pop" for the first time. But I didn't really like what I heard. It took me until 2017 to give BTS a chance and I was mad at myself that I didn't listen to them before. Because of them I checked out many other groups, but no one really impressed me. Some are okay, and some even good, but still not enough for me to actually be interested more. I'm now ARMY for almost two years and I'm really glad that I found BTS. They're not only special for the music industry in South Korea, but also globally. Somehow they managed to got into the german charts (Map of the soul: persona debuted at #3 and is still charting next to Love Yourself Answer & Tear). The german charts are very complicated and even big US artists aren't charting(high). Most of the time everyone just talks about the success in the US and maybe in the UK. But they managed to break into so many countries. They don't need to promote here. They just sell and can simply come and perform in the biggest arenas and even stadiums. I have never seen anything like this. ~~~ Because of the entlistment topic: I know that I don't have a valid opinion because it's a topic which only should concern people from South Korea. It's a sensitive topic. But I want to explain my point of view. :) I agree with your argument that athlets are already get an exception..so why shouldn't someone like BTS don't get one. The politicians just need to add a new law rule. But I wonder...do BTS even want the exception? In an interview (I think it was in the US) they got asked about the military service. And Jin (the oldest) said that he will accept the service when it's time. It's kinda funny that so many people discuss about this, but BTS themself want to serve. And with this I have a question to you. I often wondered if it's possible that all member entlist at the same time. All BTS member reached the age where they could entlist. Somehow it's normal that the other group members just keep going without a few member. Or the member go solo or enter other parts of the entertainment industry. But in BTS case I have the feeling that it would make much more sense that all of them just "do it together". They have a global success now. And in the most music industries (especially in the west) it's completely normal to have a break of 1-2 years at some point. The longest I waited to a new album release was 5 years (local german band which I was fan of). Okay I think I should stop here now. The text is already long enough. Thank you again for the video :D

Thank you for this! BTS should also be commended for not being one trick ponies. They cut through a lot of genres and their catalogue is just so refreshing. I was so grateful when I listened to and learned about their lyrics. They are wise well beyond my 40 something years. They aren't just bubblegum like most ...cough cough b free...were hoping they would be. Anyway, like Agust D said, he is a mudfish that thrives on negativity. The more they hate, the bigger the domination. When you wish bad things to a person, they come to you. Full speed ahead legends. Today they took #1 in Japan.

BTS works because BangPD wanted them to be different, and that has always been their goal and motivation. The right people were brought together to achieve a meaningful dream.

I have been following Kpop for over 10 years.. But i stopped for some years after it become so boring and so obvious. In fact, we can actually guess these idols come from which company just by hearing their songs esp if they come from what used to be the big3. Each members have their role and personality wise its not genuine.when i got back into Kpop it was because of BTS. Kpop industries thought people cannot sense genuineness.. But this i got from BTS.. Their music, personality its genuine and i can relate to them.. Simple.

Thank you for this video, i agree coz i’m not into kpop but i do listen occasionally but not to the extend i want to know more about the artists even for western artists too i listen to judtin bieber, taylor swift etc but just basically listening to the songs,but the first time i listened to BTS songs and watched their MV i wanted to know more about them, they are so uniquely different! when i know more about them, the songs they write with meaningful lyrics addressing the mental health etc, their personality, love for their fans is mind blowing, interaction with fans on twitter etc sharing about their lives, it was no turning back for me, in fact i called BTS genre of music as BTSPop.
