I’m a hibs man but it’s funny you hold that view with a Celtic cross as a profile picture. A symbol of Celtic (Celtic as the people) transition to Christianity 😂😂😂 we are both clubs with Irish origin. Also Celtic we’re formed by a monk, who was a practitioner of the faith, which makes Celtic football club, in essence, a staunch catholic football club. Don’t need to be catholic to support Hibernian or Celtic but they are both catholic football clubs with great history
And yet the original Celtic or Culdee church was NOT Catholic in theology. Look at the surviving writings of Patrick. Catholicism has changed over the years but his writings did not reflect Catholic doctrine at the time. It was only when Strongbow and Henry invaded Ireland and subjugated the native church at the behest of the pope did Ireland become Catholic, and with it the Celtic church.
