Japanese-trained Kentucky Derby hope Forever Young left it late to land the 2024 Saudi Derby in the very last stride.
A slow start saw him with plenty to do turning for home, but Forever Young launched a sustained wide rally to just catch USA runner Book'em Danno in the final strides to secure a head victory in the $1.5 million Saudi Derby (G3) and extend his perfect record to four races.
In landing his first Group-race win, Susumu Fujita's Forever Young completed the one-turn, 1,600-metre race on a fast track in 1:36.17-shattering the track record for the distance by about two seconds.

The funniest part about this particular race ,Forever Young ran that horse down on the wrong lead.That was all heart grit and it shows the competitiveness of this horse , He ran 4 wide around Dubia and again ran on the wrong lead and won by 2L..The most impressive part about the Dubia race is FY ran the fastest final 400m ever in a UAE derby and again thats after being 4 wide and on the wrong lead. He s on of my Derby top picks and easily could be the favorite May 4th to experienced Handicappers. I loved Derma Sotogake and Thunder Snow but this horse is a throwback horse to the old school beast of the sport .His pedigree is of Royalty and Sunday Silence ,Big Red and Raise A Native are awesome... Ican ramble all day about this super star he will finally get Japan a Kentucky Derby or at the very least be in the exacta ..GL to everyone who bets the derby..

Absolutely an excellent breakdown. I am handicapping for the Kentucky Derby replays and never saw him on his wrong lead. Maybe I have just watched too many replays and need to step back and start over fresh. Just Steel stumbled in the stretch and was chasing Muth still. Thoughts?

@@joshuacurry577 Thx for the kind words . I been handicapping for 20 years now and I used to live off my winnings . I make my own figs and Im on a fb group who shares a we azz lth of knowledge. Im gonna check out Just Steel more today and I ll def get back to u.. Theres 4 horses right now I m high on , Forever Young. Domestic Product. Catching Freedom and Endlessly .. Im still going through the field and ptential for tain is making it hard

@@richardecleary3621 I love both horses Pedigrees . Sierra Leones a nice horse . I love seeing Sunday Silence prove everyone wrong. The horse literally transformed Japans racing stock single handily. Just incredible. They breed for staying power while we breed for speed . I think its starting to hurt our stock. This years fields pretty soft and I m hoping this isn t things to come in the future

@@richardecleary3621 I still can t believe how dumb of a move tht was , makes no sense seeing he almost won the triple crown. By looks he was beautiful . He s definitly one of my favs . 30 years seems like forever but in that time Japans caught up with everyone now . I m afraid to see what the have for horses in another 20 years . They def know what there doing now.

@@j4967p Thats funny seeing that multiple horse came out of tht race and A turned into really good horse and Sires and B . have won huge races ,shit Thunder snow won back to back Dubia world cups. Derma Sotogake is also a greT horse who got completely took out bbn of the derby and still ran a game 6th. People like to compare horses and act like Sierr Leones finish was so great . When he literally ran by gassed horses and ran slower the FY who went 4 wide and flew late. Just putting it out there for handicappers who actually make figs and use times. gl to u reguardless
