*"I don't think the fans of Tekken fully realize how insignificant the characters who aren't Mishima's are. So we're going to fix that by bringing back Heihachi."* -Harada
They learned the same way Star Wars had to learn. Nobody gives a shit if the Skywalkers arent involved. If there is a Star Wars movie coming out and it doesnt involve the Skywalkers or isnt based on their family, nobody cares about it. Tekkens story is the story of the Mishimas. Thats it, nobody else. Now you can sit here and backseat and be like "they should explore X character more and X story more" but the fact of the matter is NOBODY CARES. The dumbest possible thing they could possibly do at their peak of popularity is "move on" from their most famous and iconic characters for the sake of someone whose gonna play the game no matter what. "Hey we are the most popular and mainstream we have ever been....lets kill and replace the characters the general populace know and associate the most with Tekken" Its like the Avengers going "Hey we are super popular now, we no longer need Ironman, Captain America, and Thor" and look what happened. Nobody cares about Marvel anymore. Good move killing off your best most iconic characters right?
If anything, it highlights the lack of awareness by Bandai and Harada. They didn't have to bring Heihachi back with the story. They could have added him as a regular dlc character with no story implications, like Negan. But instead of learning from Akuma how bad it is inserting a character into a story who doesn't belong, they are doing it again with Heihachi.
it wasn't ever like fighting games had a good story to begin with, people didn't like Tekken story for the boring ass story mode 7 introduced, it was the crazy lore that Tekken character always had, Ive heard of people that play Tekken for the lord say this, the story never ever mattered, it was the crazy lore more than the story
Remember Triborg from MKX? He’s a playable DLC character, but he is not canon. Heihachi should at least be like that in Tekken 8, and he should have stayed dead.
That's what I lovee tekken 8 but seeing him back in canon was kinda deflating it would be cool if game kept him dead since the voice actor who played him passed away as well. (Would have loved a playable hehachi as dlc but not in story though)
When characters die in MK the lore can back up if they come back to life. SF to a degree their lore can also back up if they come back to life mainly Byson with the multiple bodies. TEKKEN doesn’t have the lore like that to back up why Heihatvhi is still alive. He got killed cold blood fish straight through the chest and got thrown into lava. Just for storytelling purposes, they couldn’t even live one game without him on the roster.
bald statement considering you haven´t even played the story expansion...the explanation may be weak but there´s guaranteed gonna be one...besides MK is the worst offender of bringing characters back with lazy explanations...the worst being the multiverse nonsense they got going on at this point
@@ScientologyHunter2 The monks summoned Heihachi from the past (the Soul Calibur III's Heihachi.) This might be the start of Tekken / Soul Calibur crossover event. That's why they added more weapon based characters beside Yoshi, like Raven, French Raven, nun-chuck Law, magic staff Leroy and probably yet another Final Fantasy guess character later (Cloud or Sephiroth, maybe.)
He survived alot of shit, he even *canonically survived* Akuma's Raging Demon which is supposed to be a soul killing move. Nothing is killing this man.
@@suijin3129 Yeah people tend to forget that multiple jacks blew themselves right on him and he was in a coma for a while So a volcano wouldn't do much either
The simple answer is because the developers decided that Marduk fans had to suffer 2:59 not even when your skin TOUCHES it, even being NEAR it should make you burn alive
Heihachi is like M Bison in the sense where he just can't stay dead, at least M Bison has the excuse of having spare back up bodies, but still what's Heihachi's excuse, hopefully it will be explained in the Story Mode Expansion?
Greed strikes again lol Here’s a thought, Ed Boon and Harada have been more friendly than usual What if. A mortal kombat character is the last fighter for season 1? Also just subbed to the channel!
I don’t like to admit it, but the lore is clearly not meant to be taken seriously. As I’ve done in the past. It’s due to passion but obviously the developers prioritize fun and finances so why even bother caring when everything logically can quickly be flipped upside down?
If it's not meant to be taken seriously then why is the tone of the story the way it was? Why did we have 2 several hour long campaigns? Didn't seem like a joke to me
Kazuya was brought back to life by G Corporation, i won't be surprised if Heihachi got ressurrected by any way Harada Sensei pleases. Personally i was expecting Harada Sensei to make Heihachi a playable character even dead in the story and i'm glad his "karategi" outfit is not the very same black karategi with the tiger head on its back and white bandages (in some games wrapped defferently) this time, because Jin and Kazuya were getting new trousers, gloves, gauntlets, etc. The fourth character could be Bruce, Anna, Ogre (that's a good point, in T4 he was trying to do some s**t with its dna), Kunimitsu, Lei or some new Tekken character. I would love to see Marduk, Armor King or Forrest Law with a new breath of fresh air.
So some observations: It'd be weird to me for OG Heihachi, as in the original incarnation from Tekken 1-7, if he hadn't died, to declare "I am...Heihachi Mishima!" Like, of course you are, who else would you be? It'd make more sense for him to say something like "...I have returned!" or "Heihachi Mishima is back!". To me that could imply that A: He is newly resurrected in a reborn body, or B: Somehow 'he' wasn't always Heihachi. We also see the monks & possibly Reina going through some dark ritual in the story content. It may be a long shot, but with the bare bones context we currently have, my guess would be that they're going through some kind of ritual to reincarnate Heihachi, either in a completely new body, or one of the Tekken Monks (the one with the long white hair) serves as a host. I think the Jacks attack in the middle of the ceremony & destroy the temple T5 style, only for Papa Mishima, newly revived and somehow looking younger, to walk out of the devastation. The thing that really throws me off though is the new scar from Kazuya. A reincarnated body, or one derived from a host, wouldn't necessarily have that. Which leads me more to think it's his original self. But then how to explain surviving the volcano, the rituals, him looking younger & his odd declaration of self? Or perhaps they just included it to give the T7 connection & to look badass, canon be damned. It's always a possibility. Alo, the long-haired one has the chest scar as well. So much we don't know yet. I'm probably way off, but it's fun to guess. I'm just glad he's back. I've been playing since T2 & always slept on him & went straight to Kazuya (Hei mains have been feeling that circa T3 Kaz main pain🤣). but since T7 I've been wanting to give the OG Iron Fist a shot, & it seems now is the perfect chance. 😁
I mean, the colour of the last character is Dark Orange. Eddy = Green Effect. Lidia = Red Effect. Heihachi = Blue Effect... Who has a Dark Orange Effect? Bruce! Armour King! I reckon it's gonna be one of those two. A guest character would be sick though. Ngl I do miss Geese.
Exactly, there's something different. Even when he says his name, that's kind of strange, like it's not exactly him. I think he actually died and got resurrected or someone is controlling his body.
to me it seems like his hair is charred and he has severe burns on his chest,so hes likely so strong that he legit tanked magma all over him for uhhhhh... however long tekken 8 was
@@Brieg_Skald he has kazuya fist mark on his chest I think it awakened something. You see that’s the same mark of the fist as the new organization symbol
I think the reason why bro survived is cuz. #1: either he got a succesful experiment with the devil gene enhancing his body secretly, but heihachi didn't know since he saw them all fail or. #2: the mishima bloodline is actualy a decendant of raiden, hence their superhuman bodies and power to manipulate electricity.
He didn't survive, Its implied he's been revived....What do you think Reina's goal was in all of this?. She's dedicated to this man like Kabuto was to Orochimaru.
Easy because Harada still can't move on or accept the death of his favorite Japanese character which is Heihachi, next character would be jinpachi and next would be Kazumi, there is no end of this sxxt
It's sad that death doesn't mean anything in these games. I get people wanting these characters back as dlc, but to add them to the story as well is ridiculous imo.
@@ssjgotenks2009 I didn't understand. The other guy was mentioning characters that died and remained dead... I just added Kasumi, Jinpachi and Ogre for that same reason.
Its obvious from the trailor that heihachi actually died. I believe those mishima monks and reina have a connection, and somehow end up pulling off some kind of ritual to reincarnate him into that leader monk in the black and he will resurrect/become Heihachi on some otsutsuki shit from boruto 😅 (just my speculation)
I'm guessing Reyna revives Heihachi.. not the "old man" Heihachi, but the black haired version of him, and Reyna is the only one who has the Devil gene, as JIn and Kaz doesn't have it anymore. +We should've never trusted RAVEN's reports of Heihachi LOL +Heihachi's VAs already passed away, the curent VA for him is the one who VA-ed All Might from MHA.
I was been shocked when I see Heihachi Mishima's trailer, how is even be possible to he is survived, like how, what kind of man he is, Heihachi is not a human, I really don't know what he is anyway, I really can't believe it, hat's down, big boss is back 👍😲
I'm a Bison main and Heihachi is my second character in Tekken. Whilst I was of course sad to see them not in either SF6 or T8, I think they should stay dead. I felt the same way about Frieza in Dragon Ball. He's my favourite character, but he should have stayed dead.
That was it for him, He's been Resurrected meaning something spiritual, Supernatural is at play. Why do you think Reina wanted to unlock her devil gene so bad and she said soon...and now we see the blood moon. Also even more proof he's resurrected, look at his hair its black similar to his T2 look.
I'm a Heihachi fan since childhood and his T7 death was the best death they could give to him. I hope his T8 appearance is just ghost, clone or something because they ruined him as a character with endless resurrections.
Harada is notorious at this point when it comes to the Mishima storyline and turning awesome characters like Law into bad jokes. I think he regrets killing off Heihachi.
@@pietrolupo2717 This time, it's the worse! Worse than in T2 and T5. Imagine someone telling you that someone gonna throw you dog of a 20 story cliff and he does. Then, that same dog come to later with little to no scratches on him. You would have the common sense to say, "How?" And not, "Oh, you silly dog."
@@christhechilled heihachi has survived an entire explosion rigth in the face and this is worse? Tekken was always an over the top videogame franchise a little bit of suspension of disbilefie
Heihachi being dead may not be a lie (him being COMPLETELY dead is, though). The trailer suggests he was resurrected. Jinpachi and Kazuya also died, with the former being resurrected by an "evil spirit" and the latter by G Corp.
So if they retconned heihachi DYING to him getting knocked out, they undid one of the most epic deaths and moments in Tekken History. What a joke... And at MINIMUM, heihachi's hair & clothes should been burned off by the lava
I feel like the mishimas are immune to lava my theory is Kazuya secretly knew about this because he knew some point he’s gonna bite the dust so he didn’t want the Mishima story to end 😂
But Kazuya literally had to be bio-repaired by G-Corp between the events of Tekken 2 and the prelude of Tekken 4. The only reason Kazuya survived was due to the devil gene. I don't see no G-Corp-type shi happening to Heihachi. Has to be some kind of will power
Probably a bit of both lets be real, dude was expecting to be revived (Kazuya was against him so why not do the same for him sure Jin works but heeeeh a good part of 7 is Heihachi explaining why he is not THAT bad so couldve been a PR stunt to get someone to like him enough to revive him), and Reina wants to bring him back it seems @@otdreamer193-j6m
I would prefer if he stayed dead and this DLC was non-canonical, but, what can I do. Bringing "dead" characters back like this simply ruins previous moments and impacts, making them not have the same emotion as before. I thought the next enemy would be Reina, but i don't know what will happen now, i hope they don't shit on the story at least.
A November 2022 rumor/leak says that "Heihachi GHOST will be DLC" Take it as you will. It also mentions MainManSwe I have a comment on King Connel where i explain why he may be a ghost or something from things from the trailer
Theories: 1. Like Jin, Kazuya and Reina before him, Heihachi gains devil form through a death experience. 2. Heihachi is possessed by another demon, an oni, similar to Jinpachi. 3. Reina uses her own devil blood to bring Heihachi back. 4. Heihachi just willed himself back because he's fucking Heihachi lmao.
Mostly up to this point T8 reused a lot of things from T7 if you at something like the Tekken shop were they want to sell you random basic assets from T7 for real money. I really hope that this method isn't also used for the roster if DLC characters and they bring us at least 1 new character this year
My take on both of your questions : *How did Heihachi survived ?* Well, it's simple. He didn't. Kazuya punched him in the chest, causing Heihachi an heart attack. Then, Kazuya threw him in the lava and Kazuya stared at it for, AT LEAST, five to ten seconds. There is no way someone interfered at the moment and, as someone said in the comments, Heihachi's body would burn and turn into flames even before touching the lava. My guess is that the ritual is the key of the whole story. What is that dark cloud Lidia is looking at ? What is that red 'thing' the masked monk is holding ? Who is the long-haired man ? What is Reina's role in this ? There's a lot of questions to answer. Kazuya survived the volcano thanks to the Devil Gene but Heihachi doesn't have it. It came from Kazumi line, which Heihachi is obviously not from. However, Reina has it. She awakened it. She spent the whole first part of the story studying it to get to know how to trigger it. Also, remember the last words she said in TEKKEN 8's ending : "Heihachi, my father... On my life, I'll swear..." ... Then she awakens and the music starts. We don't know what she was thinking. What was it ? 'I will restore your legacy ?' or 'I will bring you back from the dead ?' I believe she used her Devil Gene and the monks' ritual to activate the blood Moon. Do you remember her rage art ? The shadows forming Heihachi's face and hair under a full blood Moon ? There's clearly some hints, there. The long-haired man is another key. That's why I'm curious about the dark cloud and the red thing which are sparking threateningly. I can't wait we have a proper gameplay trailer that will probably tells a lot more, unless B.NAMCO unveils the mystery before, which I doubt because that would spoil the story.
*Who is the final character ?* I think it will be Ogre. Ogre makes a lot of sense. We could have him appearing in a Jun's side story and Harada confirmed in a live talk there WILL be an (free) update that allow us to know how she came to survive all this time. That would be the perfect opportunity to bring Ogre back. Furthermore, we know Ogre's blood has amazing properties (remember how the mouse grew in TEKKEN 3's Yoshimitsu's ending). Heihachi wanted to use it to gain power, see if that would trigger any Devil Gene in him, and to be young again to retrieve his former strength. I do believe Ogre is part of Azazel's lineage and was, somehow, a superhuman demigod embue with the Devil Gene (explains his True Ogre form). Jin destroyed him in TEKKEN 3. We saw him 'disintegrate' into white sparks... but y'all know how death works strangely in TEKKEN's lore. You (from the video) mentioned Ogre when looking at the statue. I think it's a statue from the monk temple that got attacked and bombed by the Jacks, as someone mentioned in the comment, but I don't get why Reina, who probably enrolled Nina, would do that additionally to the ritual... did she ? Is she just a spectator ? I still don't think so. Is Ogre part of this ? That would seem so crazy but hey, we never know. I think we should still keep this idea in mind and see what happens. Uhm... Sorry for that (very) long text, glad if you liked it if you red it. I've tried to gather some people's ideas from the comments.
For crying out loud, and Heihachi fans waving a shouting hand of applause, it came out of nowhere- by this point Heihachi is an unstoppable machine, but who knows- as the for the 4th character at the winter that could be anybody that’s for sure- forget about Fah Kum and Marduk - I bet the 4th one would be something related to the story installment (could be a new character? But I doubt it) could be Kunimitsu or, definitely Ogre, we kinda need him.
How did he survive ??? producers want to as usual didn't know a better way to include him in the game and the DLC money that comes with it Our favourite fighting game franchises like MK and Tekken are Shadow of themselves thanks to hidden agendas among game producers and sony pushing politically correct messages and firing experienced game developers in the name of cost cutting and most importantly due to disagreements in the direction in which gaming industry is heading .
it all started after tekken 6 had come out on ps3 and xbox360 as well; and the mortal kombat series after armaggeddon came out in the autumn of 2006. also soul calibur series has suffered after the fifth game came out in early 2012. samurai showdown and the street fighter series have had similar downturns also. it's as if the developers have no artistic or creative vision for future instalments for their series. all they can do is stay loyal to so called legacy characters and have guest fighters from other games to drive up sales of their games. they have no faith in any of the debutants in their games and even some popular new characters they relegate to DLC. the day ps4 and xbox one hit the shelves creativity truly died when it came to games development. money is more important to the developers than advancing the story of any fighting game franchise. only a token few new characters from recent entries in any of the aforementioned games will make the base roster while the rest of them are consigned to history to the appeasement of people who are not die hard fans of the games. when you look at current entries of established fighting game and you see the rosters you wish some fighters from previous games would come back. i'm in that same boat as you.
That would explain the bodies you see right before... but the Jack-7 are controlled by the Mishima Zaibatsu, last used by Nina, whose Reina probably enrolled. We see the TEKKEN Force and the Jacks attacking some opposite force led by Eddy, who met Jin and Lars at the rebel hangar. They are at war, for sure. The question is : What are they fighting for ? The evil side is commanded by Nina so Reina is most likely the headspot of this force. Reina is most certainly involved in Heihachi's return... so, I guess the Rebels think : 'Whatever Reina's plan is, we must stop her.' ... or maybe they don't even know Reina is behind all of this. She was on Rebels side during the war against the G-Corp.
Shang Tsung's case is different from Bison and Heihachi. We all saw these two die and were brought back as DLC. Now if it were Kronika on the other hand...
He's strong enough to defeat Kazuya, but the devil gene is just beyond any human ability, and we've seen Kazuya survive the same fate so its safe to assume Heihachi can as well.
@@Invicible94It wasn't 20 years, Idk how people missed that T4 Kazuya intro where it literally states he was revived a few days later after the end of T2's tournament 😂
I also think some body borrow (M.bision/Vega shit) is gonna happen...but Bieng tekken some wierd anime like idea will happen...plus i think story will available only after the 4th player is shown and ready
The shadows make him look younger, but he seems greyer in the DLC panel. This being said though, he still looks ~10/20 years younger. Maybe, that's part of the ritual ?
I don't think the section at the end of the trailer is immediately after his death at the hands of Kazuya. Heihachi has the Tekken Monk Gi on at the end. I have no clue how he's back, but it seems to me like he's returned to a volcano to give a final test to his newly honed body or something, proving to himself he can't be beaten by the power of nature anymore.
He's either cloned, resurrected via demonic bs, is a cyborg/robot, or just built different idfk at this point, for all we know it could be like a Bio Broly situation lmao
LAST CHARACTER IN THIS SEASON SOMETHING CROSS OVER? OR JUST FOCUS ON TEKKEN CHARACTERS JUST LIKE WHAT THE CREATOR SAID, BUT WE THOUGHT HEIHACHI WAS DEAD ACCORDTING TO HARADA, THEN WHAT HAPPEN? SURPRISE? CHANGE OF MIND? HOW HEIHACHI STILL ALIVE? I THINK SOMEONE IS SAVING HIM OR HE JUST SURVIVE ON HIS OWN, IT SO UNKNOWN, THIS MEANS THAT THE BATTLE OF TRUE DEVIL KAZUYA AND GOUKI THE SHIN AKUMA IS STILL UNKNONW, KAZUMI DEBT TO GOUKI STILL UNKNOWN, OTHER FANS EXPECT BASELINE STORY ABOUT HOW KAZUYA AND GOUKI WILL BATTLE IN THE NEXT TEKKEN :)
