Here's a bit of my back story and how I got to this point in the instrument development.
It's a bit of a crazy idea, launching an instrument company in one's late night hours, but here's where I am, and I hope you'll join me on creating a company designed to celebrate the joy and ease of music!

This is a really nice build. I picked up a Seagull Merlin a few years back and have loved it. It’s a “similar” in that it’s half of a dulcimer in shape and handling of a guitar. Though mine is nicer than my cheapest ukulele (super thin back), it is nowhere near the construction quality of my nicest uke or cheaper Johnson mandolin. The design and composition shown in this video looks like the type of instrument I would love to show off while playing. Such a beautiful piece! 🥰🎸

Thanks so so very much, it means a lot when someone with this level of instrument experience has kind words. And these are the prototypes. Multiple intonation and playability improvements on the production models in the shop right now!!! 🥳

I have one of the first 10-12 Dulcimers made by Homer Ledford! It was before he started numbering them.

That is amazing. If you feel comfortable doing so, please send me some pics! (hey@heyinglewood.com) I'm told there's a little museum up there in KY to him. I want to go. :)

Also @robertcrawford3798 if it’s not a family heirloom/hand me down, keep me in mind, should you opt to part ways with that piece of history.

Thanks so much! It's getting better every round. I am so stoked to play the one that's on the bench, hopefully by EOMay, and that's the production model!

The early one looks like a cigar box guitar.

I still need to get one of those. They seem like a wild west for stringed instruments... true? Or are they more defined as "this is what a CBG is." ?

@@HeyInglewood Id like to try one, but i think the box would need bracing. Good vid.

My instrument would need bracing, you mean, or the cigar box? I’ve run the specs (and trust Nick (luthier)) that were good with bracing as is (minimal). The string tension is low, the neck is reinforced, etc.

@@HeyInglewood The cigar box one. Yours look fantastic.
