I am clearing some of those flat areas of the map and planting grass and trees. The grass can be made to silage/hay for the sheep needed for the cloth for the yacht and extra income while waiting for the trees to grow
FYI I believe each ship produced nets 1.2 or 1.5million dollars, on top of what you earn for supplying it with the products to build 1, and I also believe it takes 2yrs to complete if solely focused on it... so 2yrs of work for million dollar plus profit, just gotta make it through those 2 yrs, and you can produce as many boats as you desire, the lake ends up with many boats sailing around pretty neat...
Also if you would like VF you could make a small bunk out of concrete barriers just to have a solid wall to make your stacks of logs nice and neat, just cut them close to the wall then use skid loader to push bump and align them neatly for better pick up with log forks, if you do two sides it makes it really easy to use that type of log fork because you have solid back to just ram forks in grab lift go...
Using the mulcher on the stones is not entirely unrealistic. FAE make Forestry tillers for tractors that grind stumps and others that can crush stones as well, they look very similar in appearance.
I was also very pleased to hear your excitement when the mulcher for stones worked for you, glad to help where and when I can brother, again as always love the content and would definitely love to see you do a survival series on silverrun sometime in the near future, I would definitely buy another bit of land now though, or save up for the actual planter, keep selling prefabs, and metal, and maybe have enough within the current or next game year to purchase both...
You don't necessarily need sheep, unless you really wanna build cat trees with the pet accessories production. I downloaded the open air garden by omatana. I put down two of those and set them to grow cotton. The cotton is set to distributing to the spinnery I built, and that's how I get endless amounts of fabric. Btw you can't use cotton for the cat trees, it HAS to be wool.
Hey VF, don't forget to refil your furnace for more metal to sell. The metal seems tobe the most profitable of all productions on this map. Use it before they patch it ;) What are your plans after you finished the roller coaster? Are you planing on staying, doing some logging and building boats for a while? If you plan to continue the forestry fridays, which i hope you will, you could even do a logging start from scratch. Buy land on a different map, plant trees and farm those.
Turns it into a feller which is as the name explains just cuts and fells timber. I think a dedicated feller is the green tracked machine that has a price tag of 750k.
Luckily, Giants gave us enough equipment to perform several different types of logging. Choice cut or clear cut, big landing versus small landing, antique versus modern are just some of the choices a person has to make. Hopefully, Giants will make a logging map DLC for Year 2 Season Pass.
That's damn near impossible to do because the trees swing and turn a bit while cutting, but there is a lizard trailer I believe that can be a tipper or logger and the only difference is either it has a tail gate or not, but still has solid side walls so the trees can rub inside but not poke through it works decent enough but position of harvester to trailer and trailer to tree are crucial, if the tree is to far pitched it will push over trailer or harvester...
Just my opinion but you should be better off focusing on gettin wood to the sawmill and metal. Those produce every product that you need for all the materials for all the construction projects, and if you don’t need the materials, they make for some good money
No they are static growth only planted trees grow all placed trees stay the same, even if you add in trees from construction tab they will never grow, tested this myself I planted a bunch of spruce, and next to them placed various trees from construction menu, after 2yrs my spruce were fully grown but none of the placed trees changed aside from seasonal colors, I fast forwarded time by another 2yrs and still no change in placed trees, so yeah better to plant trees and highly suggest lodgepole pines, easily harvestable and grow fairly quick, fully grown 36.3m tall which gives you the most uniformed cuts, 3-12m, 4-9m, or 6-6m logs, absolutely love that giants gave us the perfect trees for harvesting...
Driver53 put up a video testing the liters you get from each tree type. Interesting to watch even while I feel the testing method could be improved. He also uses mod ot pick up logs from the ground that looks interesting. I link the vid a bit lower to not spoil too much. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uuRCObezUrc.html
