To sum up KKR's season, the best thing they did was to get Gambhir back on board. He made two inspired moves- brought Sunil Naraine back to the opener's slot and paired him up with an unfancied Phil Salt and then inducted Starc into the bowling attack and stuck with him despite his poor initial form. The Indian pacers stepped up and the spinners -Chakravarthy and Narine - did the job expected of them . Dre Russ provided the icing on the cake - remaining injury free through the season and chipping in with bat , ball and in the field. This freed up players like Venky and Shreyas Iyer to play their own game resulting in the kind of all round performances that other IPL teams can only dream of .

Its true though what they say... batters win you matches, bowlers win you tournaments. Look at the state sheet, all 5 of KKR's bowlers in the top 20 wicket takers list.

Chakravarthy is 100% their MVP after Narine. The wickets he took and when he took them, it was insane. Everytime you thought someone was going to go a gear higher, boom, Chakravarthy took a wicket.

I think completely just bashing and not even acknowledging Narine's batting is not fair....he defo isn't a batsman and is lucky at times, but He has played some very good strokes and look at the majority of his boundaries....in previous seasons it is true, he was just hitting it anywhere...but saying he had just a lucky run of games is kinda disrespectful 🤝

I feel like for the T20 world cup, a match analysis would really do wonders quite like this one (but ofc it wont be this intensive as thsi was the final) , but it would be great to go through the teams overall and not just one player in general and see how it progresses. Great work.

I feel that if you throw this KKR team in this years T20 worldcup they might just go on to win the worldcup as well with that crazy balance in the squad.

Did stark got a chance to bat in the entire tournament?? Can't remember!!😅😅

The biggest issue for us in years gone by was our powerplay batting and our middle over run rate. Both were extremely slow and ineffective. Many a game we would struggle to hit 40+ in the powerplay, usually Russel and Rinku would bail us out by scoring 50 in the death. Narine and Salt changed that, we now had a pair that could regularly get 10 an over in the first 6-8 overs. As well as this our bowling outside of our spinners improved. With Narine at his best the opposition essentially play a 16 over game. This year Harshit and the others especially Russel gave us a major wicket taking threat through the middle overs to break up partnerships. Whilst Starc was expensive first half of the season, he was incredible as a front line bowler in the big games. Couple that with Rana hitting good areas with the ball and Russel turning up big time and now that's one of the world's strongest bowling lineups. Chakravarthy performed well and all we needed was Arora to play a clean game which at times he did so our whole bowling department improved. Credit to GG to bring the joy back to the city of joy. Narine's success with the bat is not all down to luck. If you go through an entire tournament with those kinds of scores, you're influencing luck to go your way. I feel he's very smart, knows when to take high-risk options, inside the power play, and designates parts of the ground where he's less likely to get out.

As good as Pat was during the entire season, I think he made a tactical error by electing to bat first on a track that suits the KKR even more than their home ground. Having a target in mind would have allowed them to choose the right impact sub as well as calculate individual innings with a bit more clarity

It might not be the best idea for a video, but I would certainly appreciate a detailed analysis of KL Rahul's decline. Specifically, what led to it? One aspect I can highlight about his strike rate is that after his first season with Punjab, he noticed that the team would collapse once he got out. This led him to adopt a slower playing style, aiming to finish each game himself, which impacted his mentality and he just doesn't score as quick as he can, not to mention this season he scored less run as well compared to what he used to score earlier.
