As a black woman, yes color is a thing. I’ve heard men who won’t don’t women who or dark skinned or light skinned and vice versa. I’ve heard women that specifically want either a dark or light skinned man. Me personally, as a brown woman I refuse to date a light skinned man, I just don’t find the skin color to be as sexy as a very dark man. I mean black men have been doing it for years too…this isn’t new. I guess it’s just more common to hear “I don’t want dark” than “I don’t want light”.
