In this lesson we're going to be examining how Stalin was able to rise to power. We're going to look in a little more detail at the ideological divisions within the Communist party and how Stalin was able to come out on top as the new leader following the death of Lenin.

This is a great video, really helps my study, thank you very much for making and uploading this video. Can you make an evaluation of the significance of competing visions in the USSR during the power struggle following Lenin's death? Thank you really much again.

@@DTF1406 yeah and even before that in 1929 Stalin had him removed from the Politburo due to ideological debates over the Ural Siberian method and the launch of the 1st five year plan

Essentially, after the Central Opposition were ejected Stalin did a 180 and began supporting Rapid Industrialization, which caught the ire of Bukharin and Rykov. However, Stalin had been spending all of the time removing the like of Trotsky, Zinoviev, and Kamanev and their supporters by replacing the now empty positions with men loyal to him. When Bukharin challenged Stalin, he failed to get much support from the leadership of the Communist Party as Stalin had boiled the frog and froze him out. He used Bukharin's attempts to criticize and unseat him to actually eject Bukharin from the Politburo under the accusations of factionalisim and capitalist tendencies. In 1930, Stalin used his massive party support to remove Rykov from power, and Stalin's voice was the preeminent master of the Communist Party from then on.

The facts being presented seem either not well researched or overly simplified. Also you have to either do more editing or practice speaking clearly and without repeating things as much.

@@LearningAcademy1 Within this video you lay out basic knowledge but isn’t in depth enough to answer a general 25 marker we would get given. For example… “to what extent were stalin positions in the party main reason why Stalin emerged as the leader of the USSE” Your video wouldn’t offer us a sufficient amount of information to answer of such question.

Yes it would. And yes it could. Good answers aren't necessarily about the amount of knowledge you use, but about the ways you are able to analyse that knowledge to form balanced arguments. Could there be more info? Yes. But these are revision lessons with the intent of allowing you to brush up your knowledge
