I use to see the musicians and singer practicing in the yard in the burning sun. When I saw the great Roland Alponso selling chewing gum and nicks knacks at a restaurant in Bklyn it brought tears to me eyes. Unfortunately there is a million of these stories of how they have these great men and women. Junior Byles eating out of garbage, (SMH). Ernest Wilson begging for food. Recently, i was playing a few oldies on RU-vid. One of the songs that i came across was the Jay's rendition. I always love that song , a very underrated selection.
He got robbed surely and so is so many artist from back then.he deserve his share before he goes.that song he sang I love it.who ever has so called rights to that song need to pay him 😢

Key name many left out in there comments shows either a lack of knowledge of Jamaica and it music and political landscape. True many artists predominantly black all be go down the trail of the shady record producers. There's a lot of attorneys willing to take on those clients because the payouts are decent.
The thumbnail is a bit of a reach as in the figure mentioned. The music industry has always been riddled with businessmen, pirates & gangsters who are there to lubricate the machinery of the apparatus. They have to get back their investment & a profit the less people at the dinner table there’s less people to share to. What makes you think that everybody has access to things like you ???? , When those guys were starting out in the late 60"s an 70"s Jamaica was in turmoil . Political violence was running rife throughout Jamaica . These class of people were coming from nothing to try and make something of themselves .
