What's funny about this acident is that Tagbilaran airport, which is near by Cebu, never had an aircraft over run despite being much shorter and being surrounded by neighborhoods. I'm also from there so when I heard about this accident I was actually surprised.

The airport was closed and other flights was diverted but after the hard 1st landing I watched, ig is round 2 of runway closure

I have now been on cebu for a longer period of time by now. In the last months we have experienced a lot of different of natures powers. One day we recieved 52mm of rain in the middle of the day. The other day we had a hurricane. And we have experienced multiple hurricanes or storms if you will. I’m telling you the conditions does not live up to how its simulated there and are hard to understand unless you’ve been in it wich i won’ recommend. The a330 was quite an experience to see and a bit horrific. I’m glad nothing ended worse than it did considering how the weather was that day.

Is nobody gonna talk about the fact that Swiss used a 330-900 instead of the real life 330-300

This overrun happened in Mactan Cebu Int'l Airport and it happened because of the strong weather.

I am one of the contributors for the development of this scenery (RPVM) Unfortunately sir Turtletank and our team, PFSDG (PHILIPPINE FREEWARE SCENERY DEVELOPERS GROUP) was forced to delete the korean air 631 from the scenery update due to some backlash. But someone re uploaded it and we chose to not take it down.

The plane crash was caused by the hurricane paeng (nalgae) it was very rainy and it was also very stormy, which caused it to mess the the planes controls and miscommunicate with the atc, though the plane went around the airport for 2 times, it crashed and the airport had to be shut down.( Simple explanation: crash was caused from the storm which caused it to mess with the planes controls and miscom with the atc. Wind caused plane to go around 2 times, on third attempt it crashed.

The A330 which swiss001 was using was the A330-900Neo but the crash that happened was with the A330-300 so that's why the stopping power was more than the crash.

this is just crazy I live in Cebu and the runway is closed cuz of the incident and my dads friend got stuck on the airport waiting for his flight, this incident is scary and really dangerous I wonder how the Korean passengers go back to there country with out getting scared, and me and my family saw the Korean air with its broken nose this is a first time for me witnessing a plane overrunning a run way

Korean Air flight 631 Overran I think because of brake failure and I also heard that they had to go around like 4 times

I wsa planespotting there at the time, Yes the plane landed very hard, and made a touch and go, BUT it wasnt that foggy at all, well mostly visible still but the flood is really deadly and tall, Like imagine a 4ft pool, that tall, we had to wait to go home and i couldnt even see a thing after the crash. The planes JJA2406 ( Jeju air) Approach 04, which was fine, I took a last pic of the last arrival before the accident.KAL631 which did a bad go around. Well its really deady for a flood, and going home theres some issues going home bc of the weather.

Korean Air flight 631 was a flight from Seoul to Cebu that overshot the runway while landing. HL7525 was a A330 that was delivered to Korean Air. They were carrying 162 passengers and 11 crew members. Already going around 2 times while on approach to Runway 22. They entered a holding pattern eventually before landing. Eventually coming to a stop at the end of the runway. There were no injuries reported. The airplane was damaged beyond repair and was written off. The crash was investigated by Philippines Civil Aviation. As well as wind shear causing the airplane to slam on the runway and failed to stop. With a warning light in the cockpit. They declared a emergency after the warning and prepared for the landing. With a lot of turbulence on approach. Hopes on improvement on the future. Good job Swiss001 btw.

High probability accident due to pilot error.(command judgement/decision). 2 Go arounds prior and other aircrafts did divert (i.e. to RPMD) due to very unsuitable weather (windshear, crosswind, heavy rain, wet RW) applicable for a sure safe landing condtion.

Too much butter lack of friction. Landing numbers are predicated on brake usage and no reverse Swiss. So no way can the reverse and spoilers alone stop the aircraft.
