I think this was a solid story Haze, though I always thought they missed an opportunity to connect the grandparents to the miraculous. I'm not saying they should be previous holders, but they could've met Master Fu under a disguise of "The Master" years beforehand. The Master would've tested Marinette's grandparents and many others over the years, trying to find potential new holders. They would've all been rejected as The Master goes into hiding with no hope, unaware that he left them with deep resentment. The unchosen members would create a group that would search for more Miraculous, having an unquenchable thirst for the magic artifacts. This leads to the separation of Marinette's grandparents, with the grandfather wanting a normal life and the grandmother still pursuing the magic artifacts which is why she leaves so often. Tom would develop a distant relationship to his mother, while his father would remain bitter. Tom would eventually start trying to be like his mother and adding new ingredients in an attempt to get his mother's attention. It could've been so good and added more drama into the show.

It is kinda curious what we do and do not know about Sabine's back story. I still find it inexplicable even shameful that Marinette didn't know her Mother's Birthname. Unless he's only recently started visiting Sabine's sister in England then surely she calls her by her Birthname I can see what they want to give them naturalised names.. but sometimes not doing something is odder than doing it. Like how NO ONE EVER MENTIONS that so many characters on the show are part Italian. Or how no one on the show jokes about their being 2 Andre's even when they are in the same room in Partycrasher. Or that Nathalie has nothing to say about Adrien buying all that Cheese. Did Marinette ever actually feed the Kwami (other than that one time she failed as Tikki is now greedy & a teachers pet for some reason). Does Pollen like Chloe more or less than Zoe ? Or that they have an Invisible Chef (remember Adrien has mention them before) yet they had to get the hotel to cater for them in the ep Gabriel Agreste. There is many things I could say about plot and continuity issues with Felix and Kagami too.

I wonder if you will make a Miraculous Mystery of Sabine's past as Ladybug as you said your episodes are full of sarcasm.
