How did you find me? And when? Was it Flylady babysteps, hygge, iceswimming, Dressing Your Truth...or something else?! LOL Thank you for your continued support and to all those who have commented and subscribed over the years!

The algorithm suggested you when I was researching decluttering. It’s been years now. I cannot adequately express how much you have impacted my life. -The long gray winters of Michigan were really difficult for me but you reminded me to make my own sunshine. -I have worked alongside you on the different zones and on the weekly home blessings -I have adopted the 2 minute hot spot Flylady suggestion based on your example -the 15 minute timer and I are now BFFs -I have allowed myself the pamper sessions that I used to think were not allowed unless everything else was done -I have taught your methods and mindsets to my 23yo daughter so she has an excellent foundation as she starts off with her new apartment -my home is finally tidy and decluttered to the point that i can frequently sit with a cup of coffee or tea and read about subjects i’ve always been interested in but didn’t allow myself to spend the time researching -it helped me seeing that you, too, had moments and days when the winter was hard on you and the routines pull you through difficult times. -I found DYT through your work and have embraced my clue bombed T1 nature. My husband and children have all been clue bombed and it has been so helpful. I am a better person because you came into my life. Thank you and please keep doing your work the way you do with no fancy equipment and tedious editing. You are real and the world needs you just as you are. I know i do.

I found you in late 2018 or early 2019 when I desperately needed a kind hand to show me how to get my home in order. I was completely overwhelmed. I love that you’re a genuinely lovely person. You don’t use harsh words or negative energies. You are my friend and close to my heart even though you’re in Denmark and I am in Washington State. Thank you for taking us on your adventures. 4 years ago, and by complete accident- Over 10 Ways We Really Hygee Here in Denmark. You had your crisp haircut, wearing camel color knit, sitting in your wing back chair. Next thing I knew I watched all your content. Was really inspired to tackle letting things go, and practice daily routines. Really appreciated your simplistic frankness. Somehow it cut through the chatter of everyone else. I was always impatient with Fly Lady content from others. Sorry if it's weird, but your charming Scottish accent kept my attention while, at the same time, calmed me. Thanks for being the company in the room cheering me to get the thing done. You turned me on to the Dressing Your Truth system and it has transformed my life. Part of my morning routine is watching one of your videos while I put on my makeup. Hi Diane, In the fall of 2018, I broke my foot and couldn't go to work. I spent more time on the internet that month because I couldn't get to the library for my usual books to read. I had googled Hygge for some cozy ideas and your name came up. I have been hooked ever since. My house is much more organized, decluttered and clean (the best that a mobility challenged soul can do at least). Your 15 minute suggestion on the hour when feeling poorly has worked a miracle for the house and the garden and my self esteem and spirit. Most of the holiday crafts and recipes have been tried at least once. Thank you for your cheerful inspiration. It has saved me from going down a dark spiral path .Regular routines at 15 minutes at a time. Who knew so much could be accomplished.

It was Autumn of 2017, I found you when I searched RU-vid for anything "Hygge" and you popped up. Of course, the algorithms started feeding me more of your content and I quickly became intrigued with winterbathing and of course Flylady. Up to that point in my life, I knew it was important for me to have an empty sink when I got up in the morning, but I never shined it and I certainly did not have routines or worked in zones, etc. It was October 16, 2017 when I posted my first shiny sink on Instagram and I have never looked back. Diane, thanks to you I was (and still am) able to manage my full-time job while keeping a tidy home. I never realized how much my mental health would benefit from a tidy home and routines. Without you knowing, you helped me navigate my last few years with my mum who was experiencing dementia and deteriorating health. My husband now sets his clothes out in the morning for his evening shift and bless him, he tries to shine the sink 🙂 You are always a bright spot in my day. You introduced me to so many other beautiful people through our beloved Instagram community. I could go on and on but it boils down to this. My life has been exponentially better since finding you. I'm more confident, organized, and just plain happier. Even though I still wear black occasionally, I will always be your T1 sister (as if you couldn't tell by the length of this comment!) 🥰

I was in a course called “Take Your House Back” that was collaboration by the Minimal Mom, ClutterBug, and A Slob Comes Clean. A lot of the ladies in the group recommended your videos for routines to help with the maintenance of decluttering and organizing. Along those lines, I wanted fewer clothes, so I tried out Dressing Your Truth, and I’m OBSESSED! I originally mistyped myself as a Type 3, and was upset to hear that I was actually Type 1. But then I realized that you and I are both 1/4, and how amazing is it to be the same type as someone I so admire! 💗

I've lived in Scotland for 8 years and I've got the biggest soft spot for the lovely, cosy , Scottish accent. You could read the back of a packet and I'd still listen to it.

Hi Diane! My son went to Copenhagen for a few weeks in 2019 to complete an independent study project for his Master’s degree. He didn’t know a single soul there, and I was worried about him, but all his experiences in Denmark were wonderful and positive and he fell in love with the city and the people. When his project was complete, my husband and I flew to Copenhagen to meet up with him and we traveled through Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. When we arrived home in Minnesota, USA, I knew my son missed Copenhagen and longed to go back. I tried to find ways to lift his spirits. That is when I found your channel. I shared your videos with him when you were out and about in Nyhavn, Tivoli, and at your daughter’s graduation (we had climbed to the top of the Church of Our Savior). I bought an aebleskiver pan and we used your DDDFIL’s recipe so they would be authentically Danish. I asked him if he could translate the songs you and V and H sing. Thank you for being my “Danish friend.” You always put a smile on my face and have inspired me to improve my home care routines (and use a timer!).

Hi, Diane! I found you years ago as I was making the transition to retirement and trying to make sense of the Fly Lady system. Your videos have truly been life changing. My home is orderly and calm, and I have daily routines that keep things moving smoothly. As you were listing some of your catch phrases, I realized how often I use some of them. My favorite is "one foot in front of the other" which I use on tough days. Thank you for all your inspiration!

After an ADHD diagnosis, I was seeking organization hacks and cleaning tips. I hyper-focused on it for a month back in January and your FlyLady videos helped me establish habits. The ADHD makes consistency difficult but the structure of the system allows me to be persistent and resume when I can. Being kind to myself, using a timer and taking baby steps has helped so much. When I retired I had a mission to get my house in order and came across the FlyLady website and bought her books. During lockdown I was shielding and started watching RU-vid which is where I found your videos. I do enjoy them, especially as a fellow Scot, from Alloa though I live in Glasgow. Through you I’ve become interested in Dressing Your Truth, but can’t buy the material as, due to Brexit, they don’t ship to the UK. Grrr. Your work is amazing. Thank you.

I found Diane approximately 2 years ago. I read the original fly lady book. You are an inspiration and a huge help in my journey. Progress over perfection. I thought of you a few months ago when you suggested one sets your clothes out before bed. This is a fantastic idea and very useful. We had a fire in our neighbour very sadly. Won’t get into details but power was turned off and I had to get dressed quickly and actually house another neighbour. So glad to have the spare room tidy as well. Diane, i’ve been watching you for 3 years, as I was picking tips in cleaning and you showed up, from youtube. I got totally hooked and you have made a huge difference in my house cleaning routine. The major diference is that I always go to sleep with a clean sink, I make my bed, do a load of laudry every day and swish swach my 3 bathroms everyday. I just can’t dress head to shoes. I just cant do it. I am always in flip flops, no socks even in winter. Portugal has great weather and clothes were never my friend… in full clothes and shoes Only Outside

But I finally came to a time for real change and I found Joshua Becker and Minimalism and then needed some pioneers like you to show me HOW! I heard about FlyLady on another utube channel a month ago. So I search and there you are! Bright fresh and Rah-Rah-Rah! In the era of Minimalist, less is more no color, I felt lost, I had started thinking I had to just get rid of everything, with a broken heart. This year, I woke up with an empty nest, and felt overwhelmed and no idea where to start. With tons of videos from a millennial perspective, I began to feel like. Where do I fit in? Do I fit in? What about my stuff? I love that you and I are the same age/stage in life. You’re not suggesting that I get rid of the things that are precious, but to get out a special tea cup and use it. Make my space mine and special. Break out the old jewelry and honor the memories and use it. Truly refresh the life out the tiny treasures, giving strength to pare down, declutter the things that are really clutter. You have given me a new routine, a way to get my feet back under me. A new focus, that it’s time for me, and what’s important to me. (And that’s ok!). While I’m keeping the things that are precious, it’s making it easier to let go of the things that can go. Thank you. I have watched so many of your videos, past and present. Keep being a positive force and warrior on clutter. The clutter monster didn’t expect a bone china tea cup being used in defiance at the beginning of the day! How can the monster win? Not when the sweetest sip of the day is taken from a delightful place, starting each day celebrating it as a special occasion.

I have been following you right from the beginning. My husband is Danish, first Canadian born in his family. Love how you have evolved over the years, you always keep it so enjoyable. Love the pom poms too. We live in Canada in a 5th wheel, so downsizing and keeping the home uncluttered and clean is a major priority. You have also helped with depression when I am not working. I watch your videos to get uplifted and ready to take on the day to keep things in order and clean even when I am down. I found your channel in de beginning of 2018 when I was searching for a good example of the Flylady system. You showed me how easy it can be to just do it! And that the routines make it easy to stay on top of things without the feeling of having to everything at ones. That overwhelming tasks are just little pieces that are tackled in zone- cleaning... not all at the same time. Same as a LOL every day! There is never an end to laundry, so a load every day... So helpfull! Things you say I really like as well: "I'm right behind youuu!!" "Going through the room clockwise." "You don't have to buy anything." (Like you knew me..)

I think RU-vid recommended your videos after watching other videos about minimalism, decluttering and cleaning. I started with the 31 baby steps and stayed also for the Danish content. I like that it is hygge on your channel, motivational with small steps (clean one drawer, be active for 15 minutes) and love the little insight in your Danish life. I found you on You tube, and you were one of my first contacts on it. It was before Covid, but I'm not sure what year exactly. Your channel feels like I am visiting over the kitchen table with a good friend! I love that you don't talk so fast to get more in, don't edit to 'perfection', and are yourself!! at all times. No fancy lighting (your lighting is every bit as good as the 'fancy' stuff) and your home is real and makes me want to visit! Through you I found secret slob, who lives in the same province (BC, Canada) where I live. It might have been a Flylady connection, but not sure. Heard of and started following Dressing Your Truth with Carol from your videos. I really enjoy your videos and your bubbly personality adds the perfect amount of sparkle to my day! Truly appreciate everything you share with us, your friendships, daily routines, challenges, travels, hygge - everything!! Biggest takeaways have been reminders "to keep it simple sweetie", using a timer, decluttering as I work through zones and dish towels as souvenirs. I was new to RU-vid, 1/220. Fly Lady subtitle, then Denmark then winter bathing. We had just returned from a long holiday cruise when the pandemic changed our lives. You have become the most wonderful weekly/daily part of interesting Internet communications. Side note my parents gifted me a beautiful Royal Copenhagen breakfast set for 6, inc. many pieces especially a teapot and coffee pot, covered sugar and creamer sitting on a darling tray. It has been on display in every dining room I have had. My husband will occasionally borrow my timer and do a 15 min. Declutter. Finally I love to read and look forward to your latest books- and have found new authors too. You literally have such positive effects on viewers around the world. 💙💙

I found you beginning of October 2017! My best friend told me she was starting this thing called flylady, she didn't know much but sent me a RU-vid video (not yours) and I found myself watching one of my first RU-vid videos ever! But I didn't get as much from that video as I wanted... this flylady thing might be an answer to me.... so I got my courage up and saw I could search for more (remember I was brand new to RU-vid), and your 31 babysteps was in the search and you reminded me of my dearly departed Momma who I missed desperately (she was also a type 1 in DYT, I think that energy of yours is what reminded me of her). I may not do Flylady home maintenance the best, but it was the first step of changing my life away from grief. And you cheered me on, the words thank you and grateful are just not enough but it's what I have to work with. Thank you!

Hello Diane. I found you via a RU-vid search over 4 years ago when I couldn't take the jumble of a messy home, with my then messy teens any longer. I had previously tried the flylady system but could never quite get it to work for me. I though I had to follow it all perfectly and of course that ended up being an epic fail. When I started following your channel, the penny finally dropped when you showed how the system could be adapted to suit our individual circumstances. For the past 8 months I have been caring for my DM 💕 while she bravely lived out her final months with secondary breast cancer. Sadly, she passed away this week and is finally at peace. Without the help of your videos I don't know how I would have coped with keeping on top of everything at home plus caring for my wonderful mum. Thank you for all that you do. It's lovely to hear a voice from home and with the added bonus of being able to see the beautiful country you have called home for so many years 😊💕

Hello Diane! I found your channel back in 2018. I used to watch a channel called How Jen Does It and was introduced to the FlyLady system. You popped up on my RU-vid feed one day and I’ve been a faithful follower ever since, and I’m a subscriber. I’m a British lady, but I live in super hot and sunny Arizona USA. I have never commented before, as I’m a quiet person but I do hit the like button. It seemed an appropriate time to come forward and say a BIG HUGE thank you for posting (mostly) daily videos when the pandemic first started. I followed Flylady 20+ years ago when my children were young then sadly let that routine slip away after a major car accident that left me bed bound. In the past 5 years or so I’ve tried to get back to making it part of my daily routine (with varying levels of success) and love that your videos help to motivate and inspire me. I found your videos roughly 4 years ago (the Flylady Babysteps), while looking for an adult to help adult me through adulthood (I'm middle-aged). I fell off the Flylady wagon a couple years ago (depressing life events have that affect I guess), and just thought of you today for some reason, so I typed in your channel into the search bar and here I am. Probably since 2016. I remember when you were doing podcasts or something like that. I could only hear you. Fly lady was my main interest back in the day. I just think your channel is relaxing with no violence, anger, etc on other videos. I remember when you stopped showing yourself cleaning your kitchen windows due to “interesting “ comments. I found out about you from my good friend, Karen.We talk about organizing our houses and ways to keep up with housework, etc.. She found you on Facebook about a year ago during the Pandemic lockdown. I found you through viewing Steph's Secret Slob videos about a year ago. I discovered we are close in age and you're Scottish (as my ancestors are way way back - I live in the American South) and the more I watched your videos the more I found that I loved - like your cozy hygge videos and your cooking and Danish holiday videos and your travel videos and bike riding; also, I was absolutely fascinated by your winter bathing! I've been going through a major, painful life upheaval in the last 4 years and sometimes putting one foot in front of the other has been hard but your positive attitude and cheery personality and helpful tips have definitely helped me more than you could ever know! SO glad to have found you and love your new look! I used to think my life needed minimalism to simplify and make my days less stressful. However, I found routines/changing habits to be much more effective than decluttering. I quite enjoy your hygge content especially through the winter months when everything is so gray AND ABSOLUTELY love your emphasis on sustainably reusing/rehoming items rather than just throwing things away. I don't even know how did I find you. It was maybe around June, this year, and one of your videos came up in my YT feed: it was exactly what I needed. Brightness, vibrant energy, colorful personality, positivity and hygge all around. What I do know for sure is that I immediately became a subscriber, and since then I have watched any new video as soon as you release it! I implemented more and more routines into my days, I discovered the FLY method and whenever I need a boost of energy and happiness to set right the day, I go to your channel in the morning while having my cup of coffee. It was about 3 years I think, that RU-vid suggested your videos in my feed. It was a real eyeopening moment for me, I don't need to clean the hole house in one go! Never heard of Flylady before. Hello wonderful Diane! I found you in January of 2017. I started the year with the goal to declutter/purge our house so that when our DDs graduated college, we would be ready to downsize. I searched: decluttering, capsule wardrobe and Fly Lady came up. I looked at her program and I thought it was a good fit so I looked for RU-vid videos for Fly Lady to help explain it in a way I could understand :) You were Fly Lady Diane then and you had started the year off with the 31 Baby Steps! You were so kind answering all my questions to help me make sense of it all! It was great timing. I then looked back at your previous videos-I believe there was an Advent series in December 2016? You introduced me to Hygge- I introduced my DDs to it and we talk about it all the time- It's part of our vocabulary :) I've benefitted from your private sessions as I work on a ministry and 5K in memory of my daughter, Rachel. But she was a little bit boring and I thought, there must be someone else and so I found you. And stayed at your side since then! I love all your videos. Hi Diane, Found you while living in NJ about 2017 and it's was a game changer for me. My home was 2700 sq ft and I was just recovering from cancer. So finding a system to keep the home organized and clean was a plus. I have since moved to a smaller home, 1800 sq ft, and donated more than half of my stuff. And I still enjoy watching your upbeat videos. HeeHee....whenever I get into the community pool and the water feels cool, I think of you ice swimming. "Cool" water in N. Carolina is nothing like floating ice. Anyway, best of luck and many thanks. And, yes, it was a little shocking when you changed your style.
