I love my Jazzmaster, although I have owned and loved Teles and Strats as well. To be honest, the "magic" of the Jazzmaster shines when both pickups are active. This shootout goes to the Tele for me.

I was contemplating getting a Jazzmaster instead of a Telecaster just to be different. But yeah, this reminded me why I wanted to get a Tele in the first place. They (Strat & Tele) are famous for a reason

Pretty much sums up why I’m a Tele + Mustang kinda guy. Nothing beats a Tele bridge pup for solos and nothing beats a ‘Stang as an overdriven rhythm machine.

Had the following in the past: •Fender Lead III •Squire Strat •Epiphone Les Paul Currently own a Mexican Fender Tele. which I love of course. Seriously thinking of the Mustang as an additional item. Really fuzzy w overdrive, in a cool way.

I own several Fenders and there are a few more I will add to the stable in due time. For me it's goes like this #1 Tele #2 Strat, #3 Jazzmaster, #4 Jaguar and I just picked up a Squier Jagmaster that is being modded as we speak, could not pass up on it for USD $125 with a gig back, love offset guitars. Oddly enough I play all these guitars through Marshall and Vox amps, Thanks for the clip !!

Judging by the sound Mustang is my favorite. By look jazzmaster is my favorite. By sensible choice stratocaster is my favorite. But I still must get that Jazzmaster someday...

Jazzmaster. King of surf and made well for reverb tone

I've never played or really even heard a mustang, but I think it had the tighest and most badass overdrive sound of the four. The clean sound wasn't the best though.

I got my first Tele a week ago. What I was expecting was the typical high-end twang, and I definitely got that, but you also get a LOT of low-end. I'd consider the Tele to have the most scooped bridge of all fenders.

Strat. I had teles for years and people seem to swear by them. Finally got a Strat. Madre a few mods. Out in a bridge pickup. Same The Edge uses more output lies trebly. Also had the tone knob nodded so it works on the bridge which was essential. After that I sold my tele. Really just was so much better. I’m not a SRV or Mayer type player either. Would love to have a jazzmaster too though.

Jazzmaster was a bit flat/out of tune, which probably didn't help it in the comparison.

Personally I think the tele stands out over everything else between clean and overdrive. And in honest opinion I don’t completely like or hate the P90’s, but it makes a lot of sense why people like Taylor York do the humbucker and P90 combo on stuff like a jazzmaster. It seems to mix well and bring out something special where it’s a little bit more than one humbucker but it’s not to overpowering like if you used two humbucker s at once. I think the 2 that sounded the best were the Strat and the Tele but If I had to pick only 1, I would pick the Strat just because in my opinion they are the most versatile guitar that fender makes and have way more customization and I have one already which is pretty neat

I like the mustang.. it sounded best overdriven and on clean setting it was the only one that sounded really clean.. The telecaster sounded good to but I really dont like the look or feel of teles. The stratocaster sounded to soft and the jazzmaster sounded a bit out of tune for a second each time hit the strings..

Wow, didn't expect the strat neck to sound so drastically different. I'm glad this video fully reinforced me in my choice to go with a Stang. It just sounds a tad hairier and grungy, I love it.

Wow mustang sounds great overdriven. But not good at all when clean. I think that tele and jazz are the best in this demo. Tele to be honest kills it. Is this an ash tele? Seems to sound really really hot in every setting

Why do the Mustang cleans sound so different from the other three? Not complaining, actually liked the tone of the bridge and neck pickups the most. Sounds similar to when I tried playing somebody else's cheapish Gretch. The overdriven part also sounded the most articulate compared to the others for some reason.

I like them all tbh, but out of interest what model of mustang do you have? The neck and pegs look incredible!!

To me overdriven neck pickup single note lines sound way different form a strat than from a tele. I can tell is not the case with chords. Can you do a single note line vid now :-) ? When Telecaster's sound is so unique that only one guitar can copy its sound. Pre-Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 1 sounds like a telecaster.

👨‍🔬🎸 I have Fender Japan Telecaster and Fender US Mustang. The Mustang sound weaker (less mid, somme focus low end, bright and metallic, think of the particularly of a Vox AC and Matchless amp) because of the shorter scale neck. That's obvious when you had bowth in hand. Mustang can't fit easy in a full mix when they are not the lead part. With the Fender Vintera Mustang Pickups, you have more mid. That enhanced the "Bite" of the short scale neck. This is why that Mustang sound the best in my opinion went it comes to overdrive for chords. (Still a bit weak in the low mid for a fat lead) For less punk rock and more soft Blues Rock up to AC DC, Telecaster with TV Jones Filtertron pickup in the neck and a punchy bridge Telecaster pickup is by far the best in my taste. More nuances, dynamic, fuller tone but still focus in the mix, nothing muddy but more low mid. Sorry for my bad English and shoot out to that USEFULL video! 🙏

Tele sounds best on my opinion, but now I want a mustang 😂The jazzmaster and mustang could benefit from a pickup change I guess. I recommend mojo pickups from uk which I have in my JM.

Tele and Mustang sound best IMO.

IMO the Tele is the clear winner, clean or dirty, in this video or others, in my hands or in someone else's. Tele, Strat, JM, then Mustang. Leo should have quit while he was ahead. That said, the gap between the Tele and the Strat is negligible. The others, not so negligible. I know, I know, the Telecaster is just a country guitar!

Is it the Mexican tele or the American one?
