It feels like DU is the final draft of SU. If they could they'd probably restart the game and implement DU instead or delete SU because now it kind of serves very little purpose other than first time rewards and a springboard to gold and gears and swarm. But even those function differently. DU feels like you actually get a bunch of crazy roguelike builds with far more gameplay rewards involved which interlink into each other more. SU ended up feeling bland when you just force yourself into the same "pick everything from the right path you're on" gameplan. Equations breed experimentation and reward you for variety. And you don't have to even think about being optimal enough just to farm a few planars, cuz you use that save AFTER for farming. The entire system is perfect now.

Yeah, I feel that too. It is the finalized version, but still has it's own flaws in this rework. I wish we had the Ornament Extrapolation from the beginning, but I am glad we have it now. Sim Universe now will be left to gather dust now tho ;-; I adore the fact DU feels like a roguelike. I am a huge sucker for that genre of games and I have probably spent more time than I'd like to admit in games like Hades, The Binding of Isaac and Slay the Spire, so certain elements people find annoying, like not being able to immediately reroll for better Blessings don't bother me as much. When I play it I have the mentality of the game dictates what I will build, and I need to go with what I am given rather than force something. And Usually regular Sim Universe feels like you gotta force a build as you say As you say, the system if perfect now, for some of us. I am just extremely happy by this addition despite some minors flaws, but over all, Hoyoverse Cooked here

@@ManCarSua Yeah i think people are being introduced to an actual roguelike and getting upset that they can just get unlucky and lose or not have as great of a build. People tend to want to use one specific team rather than matching team with the build. But that's exactly why you can swap to ANY CHARACTER whenever you want. When that luck hits though holy shit are you doing WAY more than you can ever dream of doing in SU or even GnG/Swarm. People are also for some reason comparing this to GnG/Swarm, but it isn't supposed to be an evolution from that. It's supposed to be the upgrade from regular simulated universe. And some people upset with how DU functions is exactly why they didn't just kill off SU. Though yeah for me, SU is dead now. This is way more fun and functional. ESPECIALLY since i can just do it ONCE for the weekly instead of twice. SU was starting to force me to use Acheron just to get by the sludge of monotonous SU grind.

Being able to play Firefly in su with dedicated break blessings is enough of an upgrade for me

Yessss, the new Destruction Break Blessings are so good. Also I just feel like it is amazingly thematically. Having Destruction be amazing Shield/Weakness Bar Destoyers and getting bonus for doing so

For Every Quality of Life Changes they are slowly making the game less Time wasting, The game Can get Grindy but you sure wont waste 1 hour Farming an item you want. which is a HUGE PLUS for me, Most Companies wants you to make the game longer in game for hours and Hours making you Burned Out Faster. this game also has the problem of Burned Out but its mostly because you have nothing to do. (finished doing Dailies/Events/Etc) the Thing that i hate about Divergent Universe is that it basically made Simulated Universe Worthless, the only reason you would Visit Herta's Office is to Play Swarm Disaster or Gold gears, and if you already gotten Either Path (Propogation/Eurodition) theres basically no Reason to Go there aside for Challenge Purposes also The Game Mode Highly Promotes Break Effect teams, which basically only Firefly team can do consistently, which is not a Cheap/easy team to make (you NEED to built Imaginary MC and pair it with her otherwise she is worthless).

Yeah, all the quality of life changes have been amazing and I adore the fact they make it easier on us to not have to be glued to the game 24/7 and we can just login quickly, especially for phone users whose phones may over heat if they are in there TOO long. Sometimes Divergent Universe can be rough with Break being most broken while other paths are good, but not as massively op. Also Weighted Curios to me seem to be more important than anything too. It does suck Regular Simulated Universe has been essentially tossed to the side. I hope they give us a new Expansion Module like Gold and Gears and such in the future again though

@@ManCarSua They probably will add another expansion module for SU, my guess around 2.6 or 2.7. Also I don't know about you, but even tho I'm not that deep in Star Rail lore, I really like the index in SU where we can see illustrations of Aeons. I hope they can make illustration for DU lore, like Borisin & Wingweavers from Xianzhou for example.

It's awesome for farming but I sadly can't say I'm having fun with it. I think I just prefer choosing my blessings for my team instead of choosing my team for my blessings. I also don't want Firefly so the new break focus is completly useless for me. I'll keep trying to clear Threshold 6 until I get my Synchronicity Level maxed out (currently at 40 so 20 more to go), but I don't think I'll do runs for fun like with GnG or Swarm Disaster. The inability to ban paths or pick between bosses is kind of killing the fun for me. As it stands it keeps happening that I get blessings and equations for a playstlye I don't enjoy, switch to characters for that playstyle and then get a Boss that I can't break with the characters I have. This is the first game mode I just kind of dislike. I'll be happy when I can go back to ignoring it. Sorry for the rant.

That is perfectly reasonable, also please don't feel bad or feel like you need to apologize for the ranting. I love hearing people's different takes and I like that we can talk about these things, discussion is healthy for the game in all honesty. This game mode does feel more whale friendly than F2P friendly in regards to threshold 4 and onwards and that can be devastating. I know I have only beat Threshold 6 with more AoE oriented builds and some preservation/rememberance to keep me safe. And like two 3 star expanded equations, otherwise I get turbo rolled. Not being able to ban paths does make things A LOT harder than it has to be, and they kinda stuck themselves to not be able to ban them due to how equations work. If anything, they should increase the number of rewards so bad rolls into bad blessings don't feel as bad. So I do wish they gave us more power in that regard. They definitely need to refine a good amount for it, heck they literally had to remove Aventurine because it locked the players into the fight because the Quantum Curio and I think some Blessings killed the dices and removed them from battle, making a field where you cannot attack anything. So I hope hoyo improves it and makes it enjoyable for other paths too

Same, I enjoy the paths & blessings of the previous SU modes more than this mode's equations. It's a good idea, I'm just not a fan of the execution. Also, idk if it's just me, but I keep getting pretty much the same handful of equations every run. Maybe the pool is just very limited?

Wait you are so right. I forgot Ruan Mei literally gives ALL blessings of a path. I have yet to encounter that Ruan Mei event again in Divergent Universe. I want to see more of Boundaries

So apparently the Mara Struck General can just target an ally, so I was unlucky enough for him to Select Robin, therefore EVERYONE was just taunted into attacking her. Ah yes the blessings of dealing with RNG

I'm going to be honest. Other then having the hability to instantly farm the ornaments, I feel like this game mode is a massive step back, this is the first time I'm really disappointed with the HSR team, I would even call this game mode hot garbage. Let me explain > This game mode has only one viable way to play it, the amount of damage reduction and hp bonus the enemies get in higher protocol difficulties makes it nearly impossible to play it in anything other then a break focused team. They have sacrificed every single other style of playing for the sake of selling Firefly/Ruan Mei and the new Superbreak mechanic, and I'm not happy with it. I understand that there needs to be incentive to pull for the newer units, but this is going too far, They did this before with DHIL and Swarm Disaster, but it was manageable, you could play other characters, you didn't have to force pick Propagation to win. Apoc Shadow is fine too, but Divergent Universe is unplayable. I value variety, I have built a lot of characters since the start of the game, a lot of really well built characters, but I don't get to use them here. It's night and day, using my E with my firefly on a destruction run nets me anywhere from 3~5mil damage every time. Running Acheron on a build focused on crit and normal dmg (Hunt, Erudition, Elation etc) will make her ulti hit somewhere along 700~1.1mil due to damage reduction. Almost all of the weighed curios only work on something break related, and they are nasty, some of them are beyond broken. I had a run the other day where I was playing a Seele hypercarry team and it was at that point that I realized that this was unplayable, I had 30 blessings, 4 Equations expanded and I was focusing on doing crit damage, at the second boss I got 1star from the minigame after the boss (no damage), the room after I picked normal battle and I died to mobs after fighting them for like 10 minutes. It's incredibly frustrating playing this game mode with a normal team (be it Follow up, Hypercarry, Dot, even Acheron to some extent).

lol what? It definitely dependa on rng, even with super break, you get your ass handed to you. You have to be verg very careful with what you choose in DU. You also have to be very lucky. In most cases, I've had to double sustain to power thru. My mkst successful teams to consistently make it thru are DoTs with double sustain or FUA team (aventurine, ratio, topaz and robin/loucha/lynx) And lastly, if you're tying to auto play thru it, you better be overpowered. Because otherwise the AI for auto fucks up a lot on elite battles. Theh begin adding mobs/mechanics that make the AI either take forever or just wastes time by atking mobs that trap you in an endless cycle.

Im kinda disagree here, this is my take if you don't like it that's fine. When you said only can play break team i highly disagree with that but i can agree that every play styles you choose DOT, FUA, SUSTAIN, ETC. This mode punished you really hard if you don't have X char for instance: you want to play Shield a.k.a Persevation the problem with this tho is the Persevation + Rememberence equation here how it work in short when it take a turn consume shield is possessed to turned it to sharable shield(sharable shield reset everytime it take a turn), do little damage, and chance to freeze. So what's the problem here? The problem is you can use Gepard, or March in this instance because they regenerate shield by small amount to allies. This will cause small amount of sharable shield that will make you vulnerable to attack. The only way to use this equation is by using MC Persevation (not very effective) or Aventurine.

Yeah that is fair. It does seem a lot more heavily stacked towards Destruction/Break. But it is a lot more noticeable for higher Threshold levels I feel. It is really rough to run Hunt/Follow up. But Nihility has worked wonders for me, and so has Abundance. Hunt just seems to have gotten the shortest end of the stick on this game mode which is rough

@@MikeJXWT I do agree on that 100% this game mode in high thresholds feels a LOT more RNG dependant and you need the synergies and good Equation to power through. I find the best way to beat it to have been for me Preservation with City Restorer and the Abundance Weighted Curio that gives you shields when healing. I relied more on the build of Blessings, Curios and Buffs than in my actual team

@@hafizrahmansyah1465 Honestly true , same goes for the Weighted Curios, a good bunch do feel very tailored for specific characters, like the Harmony one being perfect for Robin or the Fire one that makes enemies only restore half their shields for Firefly. The Preservation one has got me killed before, so I do not like it as much I feel. Because it gives me anxiety of getting one hit killed. And I love how you put it there honestly. It is perfectly fine if you do not like the game mode

DU Extrapolation game mode is pretty decent but I'm kinda mad how more punishing they are compared to G&G The skills tree are decent but the buff are abysmal, like 30 extra credits and 1 extra curio, blessing and upgrade points? Why they are so stingy man. And why they're removing all the QoL from the previous expansion, not only the blessing reset but also the disable path option. On top of that they didn't give option to choose bosses or even give minor debuff or weakness for the boss. The extra fight bonus are useless at highest difficulty without the apple because no way you are gonna score more than 1500 on that, and why the beginning blessing sometimes completely different than the first equation you took? And the first difficulty they literally said equation inquisition are more randomized? it is already RnG as it is why they have to make it worse. The only thing they fixed is planar farming, and it is essentially a downgrade in every single category if its compared to both expansion.

I think the differences may be to push players into changing their teams depending on the blessings they get. I have had to change my starter teams multiple times to better make use of my equations and blessings. I wilk agree on the lack of buffs and how little difference they make. I got to level 20 without activating one of them, and when I did I barely noticed them.

@@ThyFloorestFloor That is the problem with equation IMO, you need both the equation and pre-requisite blessings. I can change team based on the equation I got but if I didn't have the blessings to activate it which is also RNG it is useless. Also 3 stars ability dewdrop, dissociation, quake and etc. buff from equation are useless if you didn't get the gold blessings so some purple equation doesn't do anything until the 2nd plane. Yes you can get gold in 1st plane but that is just plain RNG on top of RNG. Still mind boggling to me that completing each gold equation didn't reward you with anything with how annoying to get it sometimes. You just got some text and extra blessings.

Yeah that is perfectly fair honestly, it can be super punishing. Feels a lot more like a roguelike to me, so I am okay with getting destroyed by RNG, after many failed runs in other games. But I can see how it can be super infuriating. Skill tree is awful in some branches, like being able to use items only in threshold 0 too. Extra boss can be rough, but I got used to the mentality of aiming for 4k or getting the heart curio that insta gives you 5k points for the 2nd match. So it gives purpose for it if you aren't turbo op All in all, I don't consider it a downgrade in every way, but it could have been ironed out a little further

@allright29456 Also real quick, as a correction for the blessings being useless. You can actually trigger keyword blessings without the 3 star blessings. So long as you have a keyworded Equation/Blessings, you unlock a "Trait" that is respective to the path in your buffs and it enables you to trigger it regardless. So for example, if you get a blue dissosiation buff for Rememberance it says that if you freeze a target that is not currently frozen, you have a 30% chance to trigger dissosiation So over all Rememberance is just OP as usual I feel and makes characters like March and Gepard be incredibly massive as Dissosiation does 30% of max HP And sorry for late reply, got distracted and hadn't checked comments for a bit ;-;

The biggest problem I have with DU is that if you are not playing a break focus team you are actively handicapping yourself, even e2 acheron felt useless compare to a e0 half built FF just because everything is so center around break, and you have no way to double down into the path that you want to play unlike the former SU further making the RNG hell worse, it's just not a good experience playing DU with anything other than break character and that goes against with everthing that SU was meant to be

Honestly that is entirely reasonable, it is rough they fully focused on Break Teams and gave little love to the other playstyles, mainly hunt seems to be at a HUGE disadvantage. DoTs and Breaks were by far more Stronger for me. Or even just brute force with Destruction via Grit and Abundance to stack up the Equation for the flower were much better than Hunt teams. As well as Preservation with very specific Curios and Equations. I struggle to make Hunt properly work in High Treshold levels Rememberance is always reliable though I feel, but still needs efficient Break of shields
