How do Haircuts work in Prison (why the Barber matters!) 

Love little stories like this. It's awful that so many had to suffer over the institutional stubborness of the DOC but it was awesome hearing about 'Hair day'.

One of the flaws of the justice system imo is that prison is frequently the only solution they can throw at any given problem presented to the court, as though prison was good at solving anything. I see this reflected in the prison system itself where it feels like most of what they can do is put you in the hole: effectively a smaller individualized prison.

Maybe they should let the inmates wear their hair anyway they want for maybe good behavior. Some of them are never coming out so they probably more likely to act up then someone that's going to be released in a couple years. Now if they could wear their hair anyway they like for good behavior they might do it. Some of those inmates probably always wanted to grow their hair long but were never able to. These could be the first time for some of them.

From what I’ve heard from MANY cats I have as clients that were incarcerated..the barber gets RESPECT and PROTECTION especially if he’s the “Shot Callers” favorite barber!😁..is this true?
