Swapping "desire" (attachment) for "intention" (non-attachment) is liberating.

I think what he is saying is just be aware of everything including your desires. When this awareness arises you will lose some desires and you will see what causes desires. You will see what you were once blind to before eg. thoughts, emotions, desires, ect...

Speaking for my own self, I think we must learn to judge and prioritize our desires wisely so that impulses doesn't don't run amuck out of control. LOL. I've had to make myself a rule. No matter how much I extremely desire a "thing," I must sleep on the subject over night. The next morning I might think myself an idiot for even "desiring" that thing because of the cost or lack of room for it or etc many reasons. Or I may think it a wonderful thing and go get it. I just now noticed that there are many pages of videos on the subject of manifesting your desires quickly. That knowledge when not accompanied with great wisdom and some training, is extremely dangerous. I'm reminded of the sourceror's apprentice. :) I'm also reminded of Jesus and His desires while in the wilderness 40 days.

The word Jain literally means One who has conquered desires.. Are the So called jains really so.. Better if they watch this.. Reasonable desires are a necessity to lead a good life.. Otherwise better to go and die

“Until you control your desires and anger, your attachments and hatred you will not be spiritually fulfilled.” Your life will be an utter waste this is according to the Gita. I was so confused about desires. How does one control them when all we want to do is grow and become our greatest self. Even to be spiritually enlightened requires desire. Why do they say this? I wish I understood more.
