This was very informative! I love my Catholic faith I feel the sacraments of the Catholic Church is what gives me life in Jesus Christ. Holy Communion is the Body of Jesus under the form of bread, received as food. With His Body,He gives also His soul, His divinity , His merits, and His grace. Just as our body needs nourishment to live, our souls also need spiritual nourishment.

After I came to Christ I went in search of `the one true church`. A year later I entered the Roman Catholic Church. That was 30 years ago. Alas, this church no longer holds to sacred tradition and has lost its way like the rest!

The problem with false churches and false teachers is that no one can refute their false claims without using God's word...which they say is not their final and ultimate authority. The CC guided by the Holy Spirit, discerned over the next 300 plus years which writings were inspired for inclusion in the bible that she codified in 382. The CC regards scripture as divinely inspired but not as the final authority, the way that Protestantism does. Instead, the Magisterium, as the unifying authoritative interpreter combines Sacred Tradition & Sacred Tradition to arrive at a balanced & reliable outcome.

I grew up Catholic from a long generation of Catholics deeply involved in liturgical ministries. My family still is to this day, active in service both in and outside of the church. I was educated in Catholic school and immersed in all Catholic teachings. Everything I knew about the Catholic faith came crumbling down when for the first time about five years ago, the words of God in the Bible were opened up for me and I began to understand clearly the teachings of Christ. One by one, a lot of the Catholic doctrines did not stand the test of Christ’s doctrines and the ones that I practiced the most, were exposed to be doctrines of men as I continued to research and grow more in scriptural knowledge. I’m not trying to discredit the Catholic Church. I learned enough to know that if Christ was faithful to warn the Churches in Apokalypsis that were mistaken and dissonant in the faith, I’m faithful also that with warning, the Catholic Church may one day rectify its false teachings. The church did not at anytime diminish and I wasn’t referring to the Apostolic claimants-Catholic, Orthodox because the church Christ built was neither Catholic, nor Orthodox nor Protestant. The church is not a physical house built by men for God does not dwell in temples made by men-Acts 17:24. The church is the body of believers (regardless of denomination) whose head is Christ. If you want to be sure you’re in the right one, examine the head. Every teaching and commandment of Christ whether taught by him or given through the spirit by his apostles can be found in the Bible, and anything other than what was given then would most likely be a doctrine of man and would neither benefit the body nor the spirit. My Catholic brethren in the belief of Christ our lord. Ask yourselves this. If Peter was truly the founder of the church, why was the church not found in Jerusalem? The apostles agreed that Cephas (Peter) was made the apostle to the Jews and Paul to the gentiles-Galatians 2:8. What would you call the churches that Paul founded in Antioch, Thessalonica, Corinth, Ephesus? They weren’t founded by Peter. In fact, Paul himself opposed Peter for he was mistaken in the truth as was recorded in the book of Galatians-a church which was also founded by Paul. Our God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth-John 4:24. If then, we as Christians were born of the spirit freed from the confines of the old law through faith in the son of God whose grace saved us from a certain death, what have become of that faith if we are observing practices, even “special days, months year” etc in our churches-Galatians 4:10 that do nothing for the spirit? The body and blood of Christ is clearly explained by him: it is not physical. It’s not in the host nor in the wine. What you must take in is his word which is in the very same body that is given up on the cross and his blood which is his covenant of forgiveness poured out for those that believe in him. Both of those are spiritual in nature. Christ clarified it in John 6:63 explaining in detail how both the body and blood are spirit given to profit the spirit. For he who is born of the spirit is spirit-John 3:6, and need food that is meant for the spirit. There is an actual breaking of physical bread and drinking of physical wine in like manner as the Passover meal that Christ ate with his apostles recorded in the first letter to the Corinthians in chapter 11 when Paul admonished the church for incorrectly observing the Lord’s supper. You might discover that it was an actual supper not a practice interjected in church masses. My hope is for one day all of the churches in Christ would be one in the doctrines and commandments that Christ taught or at least most of them as I recognize that it will be scripturally impossible for it has already been prophesied that not all who call Christ lord will be saved.

If you could use the gospel to test the spirit of truth in what I have written for all the readers to see, correct me using the written word of God so that we could all profit. Isn’t it written that it is profitable for teaching, refuting and correcting us believers in our path to righteousness-Timothy 3:16? And aren’t we taught to teach and admonish one another in the word of Christ-Colossians 3:16? So pls correct my misinterpretations if you know so. I’m fully aware that I do not know everything and even when I do, my heart is always eager to hear the word of God because very truly it is written that those that think they know it all, don’t know much-1 Corinthians 8:2. And those that seek the truth and are mistaken, God will bring to understanding-Isaiah 29:24? We have no disagreement that Christ built the church. He said it himself in Matthew 16:18. And I’m careful to heed Peter’s advice in 2 Peter 3:2 to always be mindful of Christ’s words so that I’m aware of his truth. I suppose it’s clear we both have differing ideas of what that church actually is. The question is directed to the Catholic doctrine that Peter established the church in Rome, being he was taught to be the first pope which you surely were familiar with while there are no solid proof of such in the gospels or even in his own epistles. As a matter of fact, in his first epistle he was addressing the Jews on how they should carry their conversations with the gentiles-1 Peter 2:12 and in his second epistle he cited the epistles of Paul given to the churches outside of Jerusalem for they were mostly started by Paul, which brings up the question if Peter was the one who started the church in Rome. I write all these to you as my brother please do not be offended. It isn’t my intention to offend. My intention is to raise these question to urge everyone to seek the answers themselves in the Bible. It’s my belief not scripture that the gospels were written near the end of the apostles lives because they were meant for the future generations, our generation to help us in testing the spirit for we were foretold to be very careful because many will be led astray.

Was Peter ever in Rome? Many non-Catholics say “no” in an attempt to undermine Catholic claims for the papacy. But what does scripture say? First, let’s recall that these same people often claim that Rome is the whore of Babylon seen in Revelation 17. Babylon is a code word for Rome, and it is used that way multiple times in works like the Sibylline Oracles (5:159f), the Apocalypse of Baruch (2:1), and 4 Esdras (3:1). So how does this help establish Peter’s presence in Rome? Because Peter himself wrote: “She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you her greetings, and so does my son Mark.” (1 Peter 5:13) So, we have to ask: why was a code word used? At the time, Herod had just killed James, and it was almost certain that he would have killed Peter, also. Peter's death must have been imminent, because God intervened by sending an angel to help Peter escape. Further, Eusebius Pamphilius noted that “It is said that Peter’s first epistle, in which he makes mention of Mark, was composed at Rome itself; and that he himself indicates this, referring to the city figuratively as Babylon.” (Eusebius, The Chronicle, AD 303) Since Peter's life was in danger due to Herod's desire to arrest and kill him, neither Peter nor Paul would have specified Peter's exact whereabouts in any written communications that could have been confiscated from any courier by Roman soldiers. This explains the use of the word "Babylon' and the silence about Peter's location in the rest of the book of Acts.
The early Christian churches were people who would meet in houses of other believers.They we're not big elaborate buildings or temples. As a matter of fact Jesus prophesied the destruction of the Jewish temple. Jesus also said you will worship in spirit and truth and not in buildings made by man. Hello I’m nondenominational and I have been studying the church fathers and history but I still have a few hurdles and challenges before I can convert one thing that burdens me is why the catholic church today allows nude art such as the sisteen chapel and david statue and the one Jesus statue by michelangelo when the council of trent prohibited it why is there a change when former popes condemned it ? My conscience tells me it’s blasphemy and immorally unacceptable because a child wouldn’t even be permitted to see it when it comes to things like the eucharist apostolic succession other doctrines I’m becoming very receptive but this is one of those hurdles because it feels as if the catholic church changed and morality changed over time also the view on the death penalty can morality change? I really need answers because there is definitely beauty within the catholic church but I see inconsistencies right now I strongly believe naked art is always wrong and it seems michelangelo not only was a rebel but wanting to bring back pre christian pagan art so what place does it have in the church so is it possible for a catholic to be catholic but still strongly oppose michelangelo I understand art itself is not wrong nor is depicting the son but depicting God the Father because he is unseen and definitely nude art I can’t get on board with I really need a clear thoughtful response please

I’ll be honest, the question about the nudity in the art of Michelangelo (and his contemporaries) has never really crossed my mind as a bad thing. I have always seen nudity, in sculptures and paintings, as the original intended beauty that God created in us. I am very sensitive to nudity and lude dress in TV shows and movies. But I think the intention of the creator of these things are vastly different. One is to glorify God through the beauty of the human person and the other is to objectify the person as a tool for lust. In regard to the Church changing their morality, there is a major distinction to made between a change in doctrine and a change in the way we understand how to apply it practically. The death penalty, for example, wasn’t a change in the Church’s understanding the of morality of it, but instead a change in how we see it being used in todays modern society. It’s hard to get into this much detail here but I’d suggest searching Catholic Answers website (Catholic.com). Keep searching for the truth and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you where you need to be. Where I live, in Belgium, Europe, we do not have so much rivalry between different denominations. Looking for another church than the Catholic Church is difficult and only in greater cities available. So I must say I am glad that I am catholic since my childhood, growing in faith and love for our catholic church during every stage of life till today. Without my faith I might have become desperate in the more difficult periods of my life, but as I grow a bit older, I am so glad that my faith gives me purpose and meaning during every single moment of the day. Christ is alive in the Eucharist and He is waiting for me and for all of us to share in His blessings upon us. Thank you for your clear explanation in this video.

The Church with those images in the Background on the wall is definitely not Christ's Church. Read Exodus 20:4."KJV" for full details. The right church is in Revelation chapter 1 it has Seven names, and was founded in the province of Asia. The names of the right church are named in Rev1:11 and the geography is in the province of Asia Rev1:4 The Catholic Church isn't one among the Seven names.

Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?
I'd change your name. You're not an idiot. I know Jesus loves you and He would never call you that. I love you and God loves you, be blessed. He really didn't found it. Peter James and John were the model for Jews who believed in Jesus. But many Jews would not recieve Jesus. Creating an uneasy situation. Then, Paul is called by Jesus to go to the gentiles creating more uneasiness among the Jews. By now Jesus has been gone awhile. The gentiles had no history with God. The Jews mostly did not recieve Jesus but had a 4,000 year history with with God. Sadly, this would lead to a "divorce" between Christians and Jews, making it hard to discern who founded Christianity.
this assumes that "The Church" is limited to a denomination. Matthew 16:15-18 confirms that his Church is the collection of all those who genuinely confess that Jesus is the Christ and The Son of the living God. And to claim that Jesus' true presence would be missing in our gatherings without your eucharist would be a denial of Matthew 18:20. So long as believers gather together to commemorate his victory, he is there with us.

Scripture only has one correct interpretation, set in place by the one who inspired it. It's the responsibility of the believer to study and understand that revelation. And the degree that we get it wrong is the degree that we fall short of that responsibility. But the question regarding your church is "what is the believer to do when an alleged authority contradicts God's word?" Do we disregard what Scripture says, or do we challenge them to prove that they have the authority that they claim to have?

I don't want to deny a legitimate tradition of Christ, and you brought up 2 Thessalonians 2:15. Could you name a few of the traditions that Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy taught to the Thessalonians that doesn't also appear in the Bible? Whilst I follow your arguments and logic, I think that the right question is "are you in a community of Jesus lovers?". I'm not sure Jesus is primarily concerned with institutions and power structures , at best it's a secondary issue, he wants obedient loving followers that are willing to share the good news with others and live lives of integrity. I think the point I was trying to make is that Jesus does care which Church we are part of. He created an everlasting institution when He left His apostles. He founded one Church. He appointed his Apostles priests in the manner that Aaron appointed his sons priests. He laid out what the perfect Sacrifice is and that Sacrifice should be his flesh and blood. If you do not eat of his flesh and drink of his blood you will have no life in you.

@mitchellosmer1293 I can answer your first question straight away, but I will need time if I'm going to go through all your comment. I believe that the Law of Moses, meant for Israelites, was not abrogated, like it is stated that Jesus said in the Gospel according to Matthew and like it is stated near the end of the Acts of the Apostles, 'see there are many Jewish believers who are zealous for the Law (of Moses). So, Israelites/Jews are duty bound to acknowledge the Law of Moses but not for their salvation. Gentiles, in contrast, were never under the Law of Moses. The question in Acts 15 is not, 'shall we abolish the Law?' That's not the question. The question is, 'do Gentiles need to acknowledge/follow the Law of Moses?' And Peter's opinion, according to the Acts of the Apostles is, no. Not because Peter says so, but because Peter saw Gentiles recieve the Holy Spirit even before they got circumcised or followed the Law of Moses. That was evidence for Peter, that God had already elected those Gentiles. In reality, not a lot changed. The Law of Moses isn't for Gentiles (like what was the case prior to Jesus' incarnation) and remains not for Gentiles. In contrast, the Law of Moses remains something for Israel/Jews just like it always was since Moses. Nothing was abrogated or appended to the Law of Moses. But it wasn't supposed to get placed on Gentiles, which is something the Catholic Church decided to do anyway.
It always bothered me that other religions are named after the guy that started it. Why do we care what Calvin taught, he's not Jesus. People hold Luther in high esteem but he's not Jesus. Do we worship Jesus or a person who started a denomination? God bless you❤❤

The Protestants are proponents of Sola Scriptura. Sola Fide. To them they are saved by faith, and not by Law and works. At the same time they insist the Catholics to obey the Law. The ten commandments are part of the Law and the Law refers to works or actions. Certain actions has tobe done. Certain actions should not be done. So actions includes not doing also. So insisting Catholics to observe the Law, which the Protestants reject as unnecessary for salvation, to say the least, is inconsistent.

@@TheCatholicIdiot For now, I will just address Matthew 16:18: The translators from Aramaic to Greek would have had a conversation with the apostles for clarification. This is why the Greek clears it up for us, that some want to ignore. Also, even if we do not go by this, in John 1:40-42, Jesus did not mention there, upon this rock, He will build His church. This suggests the church is not built on Peter (flesh and blood), but on Christ (Spirit, "Father, into your hands I commit My Spirit"), whom the Father revealed to Peter in Matthew 16:17. It is the Spirit of Christ that overcame hades (2nd half of Matthew 16:18), Revelation 1:18. Peter never overcame Hades. Both Peter and Paul stated Jesus was the chief cornerstone for a reason, the cornerstone is what a building is built off of. The church is built on the Spirit, not flesh and blood. Jesus said flesh and blood profits nothing, it is the spirit that quickens. Peter did not overcome hades, nor is anyone born of Peters spirit. Peter was simply born of God at the time of their conversation in Matthew 16, 1 John 5:1. So were the rest of the apostles, except Judas of course (Matthew 18:18). I don't mean this with any disrespect, but this interpretation of Matthew 16:18 is simply a shallow interpretation, that is only skin deep.
@@soteriology400 In Mt 16:18, Jesus clearly labels Himself as the Builder. But what about the very next verse? In Mt 16:19, Jesus made Peter the leader of the Church on earth by giving him the keys symbolizing the office of steward - just like Joseph in Egypt (cf. Gen 41:41) and Eliakim (cf.Isaiah 22:20-22). Jesus even quoted the passage from Isaiah as He did so. And since Jesus is an eternal king, the office of His steward must continue, also. The successors of Peter, the popes of the Catholic Church, have held those keys ever since.

The text says nothing about succession, nor infallibility, head of church etc. We see in Matthew 18:18 the disciples also were binding and loosing. If anything, Genesis 41:41 and Isaiah 22:20-24 were foreshadows of Jesus. All authority was given to Jesus, not Peter. You become a member of the ONE Church that Jesus "Founded" when you repent of your sin, and call out to be saved through FAITH in the SIN OFFERING of Jesus in the cross. The question of which "Visible church" to become part of is different. NONE OF THEM are the "One Church" which is a spiritual body comprised of born again people both alive and dead through the ages. Basically any Visible Church that preaches salvation BY FAITH In the SIN OFFERING of Jesus on the cross is on the right track. Any visible church that tries to teach that salvation is by faith plus anything else is a false church.

He did not start any church there. We have no record of him telling the apostles, "Go, start my church in Rome." Indeed, we don't even know who started the first home churches there. To pretend that the Church of Rome was any more started by the "Real Jesus" than many other churches is somewhere between an innocent mistake and deliberate deception. Which is it for you? The true church of Christ became totally corrupted and needed to be restored again just as Peter prophesied in Acts 3:19-21!!! The Catholic church is nothing like the church Christ set up, but the LDS church is restored exactly like Christ originally set up and restored again!!!
Wrong, that would mean Jesus was wrong! It always has and always will prevail by the presence of God and the Apostolic teachings and worship of God period!! Give proof of the corruption but b warned we r smarter then y because Rome is the top example of proof, writings all evidence by which we know and understand but u simple do not have this Romana knowledge. @@MiguelMangada Wrong! Revelation 13 states that the beast made war with the saints and OVERCAME them for 42 prophetic months or 1260 years, see Clarke's Commentary! That is why there needed to be a restitution of ALL things as Peter prophesied in Acts 3:19-21.
Dream on! Jesus founded His One True Church Mt 16 18-19 that became known as Catholic or Universal in 110 which codified your bible in 382. His Church is the fullness of Truth 1 Tim 3:15 & has existed for 2000 yrs, in spite of sinful men, proof of its divine origin No organisation, such as Protestantism can survive without hierarchy & a unifying authoritative interpreter, the fruits being confusion, division & scandal of 000’s of sects, resulting from personal interpretation, which is not of Jesus who willed unity Jn 17 11-21 No Protestant has ever been able to explain why personal interpretation, if guided by the Holy Spirit has resulted in 000’s sects proving that either the Holy Spirit is wrong or more likely, Protestantism! There are none so blind as those with a darkened intellect which the Holy Spirit obviously isn’t enlightening! Consider the damage caused to society by relativism, caused by there being many “truths” of Protestantism which have resulted in contraception, which until 1930, all denominations prohibited until the Anglican broke away in 1930, abortion, IVF, divorce, SSM, LGBGT, transgenderism etc. Protestantism has a lot to answer for!
