I installed an android tablet & rockford 3sixty.3 with amps, speakers & sub. The bluetooth connection has always been dodgy for me so i connect it to the rockford with an aux cord running behind the dash. Also installed a USB charger behind the dash which turns on from the rockfords remote out via relay along with the amplifiers. The rockford turns on via the high level speaker input from stock integrated headunit. Also have the rockfords remote tun on lead wired to a switch so i can manually turn on the tablet & amps which all run off my isolated second battery so i can play music as long as i want & still start the car. I use the app "Tasker" which triggers when receiving power to automate music play/pause, apps, OBDII connection, GPS etc.
from what I have read, you can with the adapters they are showing in the video but you lose some functionality such as steering wheel controls and the volume button, they are saying it is cheaper and easier to use a basic stereo unit with the iPad in front
this is for the last question. Probably not really what the guy wanted but it's pretty clean if done with some imagination. There are Y-adapters which will lead audio from the main connector to an aux and usb charging goes trough the same usb cable. Just add another socket for charging behind the dash and it will look pretty clean. I did this in 2012 when I used the iPad 2 in the car for music and navigation. Also the app 'EqU' is great for music playback because of the eq options. Hope this helps!
I like the idea of doing a hidden processor. No one wants to go back to touching the stock controls on the dash especially if they already have controls on the steering wheel. I would also consider a 3d printed dash replacement as I agree on fiberglass is difficult and for something that a customer will see everyday, it's not the most worthwhile way to customize a dash.
Linda Salais if you want to use a backup camera on your iPad you’ll need a 903W TRA it’s pretty cool adapter that will send a wireless signal to your device .
Quick question I'm putting together a new audio system in a 2007 Ford Mustang GT ,0 guaue 2 American bass XFL1244 1000w rms 2000wrms, powered by a Hifonics BRX2416.1D amp 2400W x 1 @ 1 ohm do you think that would be a LOUD system?
where i live all the radio stations are either country or like 2000's hiphop.. and also my car stereo sucks at picking up fm so im just 100% bluetooth connected to my phone
Question? I just purchased a kenwood dnx5190 I plugged in my ipod touch 5th generation to the usb cord. The radio reads everything but no sound comes out. Have you came across this issue and if so what can I do to correct it? Thank you
Today I had 2 12 inch Polk db subwoofers and a polk amp installed. I believe the Polk amp is 500watts watts and the subs are 250 and they installed a bass volume knob by my knee and I just barely turn it up and the bass is fucking crazy crazy thunderous bass with rap and then with rock and roll I have to turn that bass knob almost all the way up. Do I just need to take it back and have them adjust the gain? Too much bass when playing rap not enough when playing rock. And also is it better to play Bluetooth or plug in my note 3 directly to my stock USB port? Maybe I should take it back and get 10 inch subwoofers. I don't know.
Hey guys, I have a 96 Cobra, I removed the Mach 460 and was hardwiring the car just for speakers to a double din, I would rather use a iPad, I would I wire this up?
There are some iOS adapters for cars that also let you keep your steering wheel controls. The company names are not as well known but they are out there. For using an iPhone or a iPad in your car.
I bought a Sony Car Stereo 50W peak power x 4 channels dont what model number but im connecting it to a JVC - DRVN 6-1/2" 2-Way Coaxial Speakers Model Number: CSV628. Im going to put it in my house but how can i power the stereo
Android tablets support OTG. If the Challenger customer wanted to go that route they would be set. With OTG, you basically CAN separate the power from the data transfer by "splitting" the USB cord. But apple is superior so they also have a work around, right??
I use the Pure i20 plus the Rockford 360.3 running fiber optic channels including an Apple TV for the rear seat entertainment. My dock was made from scratch (I would consider getting Soundman's kit for saving time). I still have my factory radio as well to keep all of my vehicle info, trip mileage, oil changes and various other setting including my rear seat entertainment in my 2007 Chevy Malibu Maxxc SS. @DJMoPhiya on Instagram if you are interested in seeing my set up. @DJMoPhiya
