Eric Snow played in the nba for a long time...nothing but respect for him. Did what i only dreamed of.

Muscle turns to fat quicker than you would think! After my playing days were over after being injured in college I tried to keep in shape but the wear and tear of 15 years of football including 3 years of D-1 ball my body was trash but it got way worse when I had to undergo major back surgery because I had endured so such damage to my spine I was about to lose my ability to walk. Since I've ballooned up 80 or more pounds depending on what day I hit the scales. I can understand Snow because I no longer had a dietitian planning every meal and snacks to maximize my output and now I look at easy quick meals. Depression duing this change is unavoidable and it will only increase poor health decisions. Nobody ever dreams of what they are going to do if they fail to meet their dreams! And the ones that go farther before learning it can't last forever have the farthest to fall and if not supported will hit the hardest! I hope Caleb can get the support he needs to find his new path in life. Mental health is no joke and without support systems even the brightest stars can burn out!

You get older, your body changes, old injuries, stress, financial struggles, divorces….he’s not a stud in his 20s anymore. When I lost my job during the pandemic I put on weight fast it was crazy. Back in the gym and eating better now thank God.

I'm with you/ it seems to happen with a alarming percentage of players retiring letting their body go. We do n eed to watch what we speculate and judging players due to the fact many players tend to have serious health problems that end up causing the weight gain.

It's no secret as to why they get fat. Less exercise, more sleeping/resting, and more feeding your "pie hole" won't make you skinny. Plus lots less "groupy -sex" and age adds on the pounds too.

It’s because NBA players have professional workout facilities and trainers by their side every day during the season and probably all year round. But when they retire, they are on their own, with less money and restrictions. So fast food and buffets are A LOT more sensible financially and accessible.

They all stay in shape...it's just a different shape...

Ex athlete here I was 8 percent body fat till I was 30 now I'm obese

During their Career, they have to Eat Baked Chicken, Baked Fish and steamed veggies, no carbs, no bread, very little Potatoes, pasta with baked chicken on occasion Then Comes Retirement, where they have access to the ENTIRE MENU plus the Money to make it happen A lot athletes develop huge appetites cause they burn so many Calories, and they eat healthy Foods, then after retirement they aren't burning the Calories AND they are no longer on a restricted Pro Athlete Diet, so they end up consuming a lot of bad Restaurant Calories

Same here brother I never got made fun of for being the far kid in school probably because I was really strong but anyways I really cared what people thought now my family is not skinny I’m still not but I started watching what I eated and now I actually have a jaw line😂

I think this guy is like the rest of the world. Most people look at those who are obese and think it simple cones down to eat less and get up and do something. I agree that poor diet and laziness are key components to being overweight. However, there are a lot of other causes. I had a horrible diet (what I ate was the issue not how much) and never worked out other then practice during the years I played ball and my weight showed it. I played basketball weighting 265-295 lbs. at 6’3”. Fifth-teen years after my career ended my weight ballooned to 400 lbs. I changed my bad eating habits to good and exercised regularly. Cardio and weight training. After ten years, 4 surgeries, and countless injuries I weigh 475 lbs. I’m just now finding out the MEDICAL ISSUES behind my weight and what can be done to improve it. And by the way, at almost 50 years of age, I’ve never had high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol or heart problems. All those things that effect many in my family. Even when I had bad eating habits I didn’t have those things. This is my experience with obesity. And for every person like me there is someone because of personal bad choices have problems keeping there weight down. I just wish we could start evaluating everyone’s weight, appearance, health on an individual case-by-case basis and not setting a standard of what’s normal and acceptable and start judging everyone by that one standard.

I am 45 yo and still active in sports. Competitive. Triathlon and Boxing. I hate getting fat.

Easy. When you workout for 20 plus years for a sport and all of a sudden you can't play anymore. The last thing you want to see is a weight room. Just my experience
