To be honest, Thomas & the Magic Railroad is my favorite T&F movie. It’s the very first movie of T&F as we all know, many of the characters are pretty interesting. I love a lot of the scenes and locations in both the Island of Sodor and the Real World, especially those that were filmed at the Strasburg Railroad in Strasburg, Pennsylvania for their Norfolk & Western 475 (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in June 1906). I have got to see that beautiful steam locomotive there before with what I mainly remember of was back in September 5th 2021 along with a visiting steam locomotive, which is their famous Norfolk & Western 611 (Built by the N&W’s Roanoke Shops in 1950). It’s also not the only train to appear in Thomas & the Magic Railroad, as two Amtrak Trains make cameos in one scene, along with Amtrak P42DC No. 111.
I wish George the steamroller was in the movie research says he was gonna appear in Thomas and the Magic Railroad going to be a part of Diesel 10's crew but his model wasn't shipped to Canada for filming and his role didn't pass the storyboard stage I wish the same thing for Edward
Yeah that would’ve been nice. The end of Bye George even hinted revenge. It seems like George would’ve had a redemption arc or having even evil has standards. Yes Edward being in it would’ve been nice as well.
@@Koopalingfan Yeah, the reason why Edward didn't appear in the movie is because there wasn't any screen time or opportunity to utilize him in a way that added any real value to the film And maybe because his model wasn't finished in time for him to be in the movie
@@Koopalingfan Plot twist Pt boomer was actually supposed to be the main villain but because he acted too scary for young children they used Diesel 10 but in my opinion this villainous diesel with a claw is more scarier than that villainous human being that's a rival of Burnett Stone

Dispight all the criticism magic railroad gets some of us can agree that it was a visually pleasing movie that had the spirit of sodor at the very least regardless of the magic elements downplaying the people who didn’t approve of which
In 2015 sam Wilkinson wanted to bring boco back to cgi but it didn't happen, there was a rumor saying andrew Brenner also wanted to bring boco back to cgi but mattel denied it
Personally i think it would've been cool if these characters were in the movie some of them could've even protected Thomas from Desiel 10 during the chase.

Toad was offered a role as a piece of rolling stock and he was going to accept, but Oliver rejected the film and Toad couldn’t handle the concept of being in a movie Oliver didn’t like.
Well the reason why cranky was put there at knapford station there as a cameo it’s because they couldn’t flim the hole scene at Brendam docks so they cut out the scene when go to Brendam docks there engine pas in the opening of the flim plus that’s my theory why cranky was at knapford I hope you like my theory of mine
And to think that they didn't even have background cameos because of the issue of only moving some things from the United Kingdom to Canada, a strange decision.
To be fair, with this many characters, and an already inflated over complicated plot, it was best most stayed out of it. Besides, they still have a railway to run.
If you ask me, this is how I'd rewrite the film. We get introduced to the title card as usual, but instead of Alec Baldwin's narration, we hear a grand whistle and mighty chuffing noises in the background. The music builds up as the Island of Sodor is introduced. From here, we see the main characters in action doing their main duties, but instead of showing just the countryside and Knapford, we see a variety of sets like the coastal run, the mountainous region of the Skarloey railway, the harbor, etc. That immediately gives you an idea of how big and massive the railway is. While Sir Topham Hatt is away on important business, he invites his trusty assistant Mr. Conductor and his cousin Jr. to look after things. Thomas is late coming at the station and Gordon is there to reprimand him. Just then D10 comes flying out of nowhere, taking the audience off guard. It's later explained that he's a new diesel purchased from the mainland to help at the smelters. The engines obviously take a dislike to his presence and choose to stay away. Meanwhile, we get introduced to Burnett Stone, a former railway worker who's hiding a dark secret. We don't know what it is but it's clear it's something big. Back on Sodor, times are tough. The railway hasn't been performing well and passenger numbers are low. The engines are worried they'll be sold off or possibly scrapped. Then Thomas accidentally finds an abandoned part of Sodor. News spreads and interest grows quickly. It's soon announced that this abandoned town will be restored to attract tourists. This would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Jack and the Pack. On the other side lies an engine rusty and decrepit. Her name is Lady and she is an old Victorian engine in hiding from D10. The original film never fully explained why D10 hates her so I added in a backstory. Many years ago, Lady was the pride of the line, running passenger trains on the mainland. Then D10 is introduced. He looks completely different with a new paint job and no claw attached. He was once an express diesel capable of reaching top speeds. Then one fateful day, the two crash and get horrifically injured. D10 is rebuilt into his current self by PT Boomer, a disgruntled rival of Sir Topham Hatt. Lady on the other hand isn't as fortunate. Knowing that D10 will hunt her down, she is snuck onto the Island of Sodor where Burnett Stone keeps her safe in the mountains. Now for the main climax, you could have D10 and his minions Splatter and Dodge find Lady and essentially kidnap her to the scrap yard. The other engines find out and they rush to her aid. James and Percy distract the diesels while Toby traps them underneath the shed. D10 is furious and gives chase while Thomas pulls Lady out. This would give Thomas a better role in the spotlight. They barely make it to the old viaduct where it's crumbling. Thomas and Lady make it just in time before it collapses, and then D10 falls off. In the end, Lady is given a proper restoration and is brought back to the mainland in a museum. Burnett Stone now works there keeping her company. In the credits, the old town is finished and the engines do a celebratory run, Thomas being in the front. The ending song He's a Really Useful Engine plays as Thomas zooms past the camera. That is my official rewrite of the movie. It might not be perfect but it's a lot better than what the original presented. It expands the worldbuilding of Sodor while eliminating much of the problems from the original. No gold dust, Shining Time Station nonsense. Just our pals on Sodor living it up on the big screen. If anything I would just rewrite TATMR and have it just focus on the trains and Mr. Conductor and PT Boomer and Junior. Also I would to see some more diesel characters too like Bear and Derek and Daisy and Diesel and Arry and Bert and D199 and D261 and D40125 and the Mainland Diesels from the RWS and the Class 28 and 08 from the RWS version of Escape. All of the diesels except the good ones would side with Diesel 10 and be his minions, especially the Ironworks twins and D261 and D199 and the Class 52 from the RWS.
