How do Ratchet Belts work

Me too! I had purchased a zitahli ratchet belt online,and the instructions inside the box were SO bad,that I felt I had been in a distorted, mirrorverse version of Alice in Wonderland! Or in the Twilight Zone. And what would've been a day,a week,a MONTH,had cleared it up in a matter of seconds!! On one of the zitahli video available on RU-vid, it's not clear on how to do that. Can't pull on the belt,buckle and it loosens it up. You'd have to simply go on the end where's it's not where the material catches on to make it adjustable. No. It goes on the end where it's not dog-eared. And then,there you go. Just like the Dickies brand. The one I had bought on clearance at Macy's. It doesn't work that way on this brand of this ratchet belt. Not the zitahli brand. And the way you do that is backward. But it still works the same way. It's where the adjustments would be. Where you'd need the scissors to have the proper size to fit snugly to your waist. In case it breaks off,for whatever reason,all hope is not lost. You STILL have plenty of material - with using scissors - on hand, to simply cut it off. And voilá. Instant remedy. Whenever I eat,my belly expands. And so does the stress of the latch on this brand of the ratchet belt. 😃

Hi Ginny, ask a family member for help. Or wrap it in a safe cloth and gently press it closed with pliers. Only use the pliers if you are sure it won't be damaged.

Yes,to my knowledge,MOST belts are. But they're SO confusing. Not with this useful, informative video. Videos like this weren't easily available back then in the years past,where you'd had to keep the box,where you would buy it at Walmart. And whenever you pull on the handle,it loosen it up. I don't know with the Dickies brand,of the ratchet belt,but it worked. For a while anyway. Until one day at home,or when I was at Dairy Queen, while eating out at a fast food place,it had latched right on. If only I had somehow shimmy the jeans off and then pull up the release latch,where you pull it up ; and not down,you probably could. Instead I stupidly pulled up the latch to loosen it,,,,and it broke. And I couldn't loosen it. I could make it tighter,but no matter what I did,it just wouldn't loosen up. When I got home,I had to sadly use the scissors to finally put an end to its misery. With the zitahli ratchet belt, it's difficult to even understand the instructions inside the damn box! It's horrible. I didn't want to deal with that,so I had watched this video. On how anyone first install just about any ratchet belt. Thanks, whoever you are. It saved me the aggravation of me having to communicate with Amazon online, having to send it back,if I didn't have anyone to help me do that. And simply send it back.
