How do we form sets of different elements? How do those collections contribute to meaning? In this week's episode, we talk about set theory: the basics of how it works, how it connects to adjectives, and how it informs the way we build up larger meanings from individual words.
This is Topic #55!

Hey, I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a collaboration of some sort at some point. I've been a huge fan of your work ever since I met you at VidCon, and you seem like you'd be really cool people to work with. You have a lot more subscribers than me so I don't know if it'd be worth your time, but I do have a fair amount of expertise in music, including theory, composition, and arranging, and I suspect there's some interesting overlap between our fields. You mentioned a while back that there were a lot of similarities in how we process language and music, maybe that'd be a good topic?

+12tone I think this is an interesting idea, but we'd have to talk a bit more about how best to handle it! Perhaps you can send us over an email and we can talk about ideas for things we could try? ^_^

Will do! I'm researching some possible avenues right now, I'll try to send something over by tonight.

Hey, I just wanted to check in and see if you got my email. I sent it a week ago and haven't heard back yet so I wanted to make sure it hadn't gotten lost. There's no rush, especially with the holidays coming up, I just wanted to make sure you weren't waiting on me. I can send it again if you'd like. (-:

+12tone Yep, we got it! Last week was just really busy, with filming a number of episodes and the P4A and everything. I'm talking about it with the team now, and we'll see what we can do. So we can email you back soon! ^_^

somewhat like the Basque noun phrase, which can include number and adjectives, and is marked with a suffix, or the verb phrase, being participle and auxiliary verb including all relevant pronouns.

Yay Math! I had a teach who claimed that adjectives limit nouns.

Is there a reason why your voice is much higher than most males? Or is it just genetic? (:

Nicholas Weston I think it's just a way to express himself. I used to use a much higher voice on parts of certain sentences. It might have something to do with the fact that my native language is Romanian. I've heard that certain languages use pitch more than others to convey meaning. I don't know if it's the case for Romanian or is he is a native English speaker though.
