We were in Hawaii April/May cruised from Honolulu to Vancouver, 3 nights pre cruise, Hawaii was amazing, vibrant colours, friendly people & the show HA Breath of life at the Polynesian centre was thee most wonderful show we’ve ever experienced, Tony you should definitely go!
SF to Alaska and back: it's convenient and relaxing for those of us who live in the SF Bay Area. Keep in mind it's a bunch of sea days before you get to your first port, so have a plan for what you're going to do before you get to Ketchikan. I liked it enough to do it twice (so far). For cruises out of San Pedro, CA you're primarily looking at Princess.

Tony and Don, ONLY Carnival sails out of Long Beach; the port in San Pedro, World Cruise Canter, is the primary port used by all others: Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, etc. A few years ago, Carnival purchased the old dome which once housed the “Spruce Goose”, and converted it into a cruise terminal which services short 3 and 4 day cruises to Mexico and Catalina Island.
Thinking about the price increases, I'm with Don in that I've wanted to go on a couple different cruises this year and next and ended up not doing it because the value isn't there for me anymore. I got into cruising post-pandemic when it was one of the best vacation deals around. Cruising can still sometimes be a pretty good value for people who live near enough to a port to grab last-minute deals but it may be years before I'm on a cruise ship again if prices don't settle.
Tony you can find tripleta in Tampa or when you visit Orlando they are many Puertorrican food truck, Kissimmee have the world of food truck with many Puertorrican and Spanish food selections
