At the Euro's when one of his players scored and he started dancing on the studio table with all the BBC pundits. CLASS! Gotta love Slavin, hope he gets back into this league or on the TV with the pundits. UK misses you, we need that energy back.
Hamiz Bashir he's too good for Sky. He needs 5mins plus to make his great points. Sky wants guys who can make 4-7 soundbites in their halftime talk slot. A bit more time pre and post match but they're competing for headlines not methodically breaking the issues down. This format is excellent for him and us tho.
Great guy and incredibly passionate about the game! Wish it worked out West Ham, was an absolute joy to have a man who loved the club as much as the fans, wish him all the best in the future
That's a very interesting interview and insightful point of views on what's happening with players and managers between matches! Give Slaven a job Sky!
I'm a big fan of how Slaven sets his team up especially when they played bigger teams. medium block and compact, loved his tactic of overloading the left side of the pitch with Lanzini, Payet, and cresswell for build up on those games it was very effective. feel sorry for Slaven things went south.
A solution to minimize the players power is when it comes to wages. It also improves performance. All clubs should give their players a set wage (not a high one). After that they get bonuses based on how they perform.
Slaven Bilić was the player who wouldn't let you pass him, when he gives you a look you poop your pants, he was a hard cire. That's what every Croatian fan knows about him👍
Love Bilic, fantastic manager, good pundit; honest as the day is long. Ducks nothing speaks much sense with passion and insight. Look forward to seeing him back in the game
Have to say, when he did punditry during either last WC or Euro Championship, Slaven was superb! He should really be signed up as main half time pundit for Sky.
Slaven is the best guest MNF had so far..he provided so many insights of the game and management..hire him for permanent if possible..he can become top pundit like GNeville with his huge experience
Lesson learned from this video. Never let an individual agent have more than one player at your club. The more players they have the more effect they will have on your club. The more knowledge they will have about your club and therefore more control they have over your club.
Board needs to show ambition for a player to stay. Then the manager needs to appeal to the players' demands in approaches. Kroos would never want to play in a Conte or Simeone system for example. That's really all there is to it and of course wages. Not sure why money is a primary factor for players though. Greedy players aren't exactly the best in this game anyway imo.
"Not sure why money is a primary factor for players though." They're people. What's the primary reason people wake up in the morning and drag themselves to work everyday? "Greedy players aren't exactly the best in this game anyway." Who are the best players in this game, Suraj? What do they have in common?
Edwin Luciano, Well I mean your average guy working 30,000k a year isn't the same as 100,000 a week. Greed is am understatement if you abandon your club/manager just for money. Note the word primary. I don't see Hazard, Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Modric, Kroos, Lewa, etc, as greedy, and leaving clubs for solely money. It's usually to win trophies which is understandable.
I usually disagree wholeheartedly with your comments Suraj. Usually because it is trolling Arsenal lol. But I have too agree with you about Greed. It is obscene to me that these guys earn so much when there are kids starving Worldwide. My wages are a meagre 10k a year but I am always happy. It is scientifically proven that helping people makes you happier. I trully believe money is the most addictive substance in the whole world. When Sevilla won Europa League back to back I won 14 grand in bets. I staked almost the whole lot again the next season and lost it ironically when sevilla 3-peated..... It was then that I converted too Nyabinghi Rastafari after hearing the gospel of the most high and honourable of Jahs Prophets Robert Nesta Marley. I have now found love and happiness with less concern for wealth and status.
Olayinka Amara you cant you have to abide by their contract. The player can always say he’s injured or feeling sick and there’s no way to disprove that.
You don't think Slavin told Dimitri Payet that he was under contract? What eventually happened? Did West Ham keep Payet or did he go where he wanted to go in the end?
+Edwin Luciano That's because it ended up being the best option for both sides. Payet wanted to leave, and him being distracted and not performing at 100% as well as the speculation that caused issues for the other players meant that it was better for West Ham to let him go. But if they really wanted to keep him, they could have for the duration of his contract. That doesn't mean he would have played well for the team (or even played at all), but he would have remained at the club. Another thing that clubs can do to keep a player under control is simply bench him for half a season. That might not have worked in Payet's specific case, but if, for example, a player wants to move to a bigger club, it could be great. After all, most big clubs would probably be less inclined to sign a player who hasn't played for half a year (or even a full year). That player might also stop getting called up to his national team for the same reason. The player would then essentially have to play well for his club because it would be the only way to get other clubs interested in signing him again. And if the player continues to refuse of fulfill his contractual obligation to his club, that might completely ruin his career (which he obviously wouldn't want).
Checking social media in half-time and players looking at themselves in the mirror during half-tme. ARE YOU NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT THE GAME AND TACTICS DURING HALF-TIME??????
