I was LOVING the shane dawson "documentaries" until jake paul happened, and it was very clear we were being sold a story. The editing and music was KEY to making their point, and not really their unsubstantiated facts. You are so right. And thank you for calling out that, even though shane repeats it endlessly, he is definitely not poor.

Great video. You put in a really elloquent way, what I've felt for a long time. Some documentaries are so shamelessly manipulative with the music, sound FX, weird camera work, or visual FX - That they're obviously garbage. But there are some that are more insidious, and we should never forget that the context is always important. Thank you also for touching on the pop psychology part of many documentaries, and on its use on misdirecting, and excusing terrible behaviour. This is so damaging to people with mental illnesses, and to survivors of abuse - as it warps the public understanding, throws them under the bus, and further stigmatizes their situations.

Mj's fame and money only made him a massive target and he has been treated more horribly by the US media than anyone else. The idea tha the could get away with anything when he was one of the most scrutinized man on Earth and investigated more than a serial killer for decades is beyond absurd. Also, contrary to what Safechuck's mother said THEY approached MJ not the other way around. And the Robsons approached him not the other way around. They sought friendship with MJ not the other way around. Then they exploited him and complained when he didn't pay more attention to them.

I stoped trusting ducumentaries when I found out the mermaids the new evidence from animal planet was fake, I used to had so much trust in those shows but since then I always put on dout what I have in front of me.
