i saw Dodson's keeping the can as a trophy. as it single handedly led to the downfall of InGen for the most part. without him hiring Nedry...it caused a chain reaction. without Nedry the park wouldve opened like plan. who knows events that happened in JW (indominous couldve been made when JP realized they need new dinos and Henry wu there) wouodve happened but a lot sooner...volcano would still erupt when it did.
Or maybe the events never happened. We can't know how much the timeline would change. It is uncertain how the butterfly effect work and how powerful it is
Jurassic World Dominion has done a fantastic job of connecting the franchise together no matter what some critic says. They referenced Isla Sorna several times and showed what happened to some of the dinosaurs that were there. Great movie and is on my top five favorite ever. Edit: Oh my god I can not believe SWRVE LIKED MY COMMENT I AM GOING INSANE IVE BEEN FOLLOWING HIM FOR A REALLY LONG TIME
What if there was some sort of tracker in the can? Some sort of tracking device maybe... or maybe even a tracking device on Nedry... though that feels a little more far fetched to me. No matter how they find the can, I’m excited for it!
I was wondering how he eventually retrieved it! I’m so looking forward to season 5 of Camp Cretaceous and have been watching through them all again and enjoying it even more!
why does no one bring up the fact that Dodgson asked the Dilophosaurs "whats your story?" before they murdered him. Alluding that he knew that those dilophosaurs probably also killed Nedry.
If i got a knickle for every time the barbasol can got lost cause a dilophosaurus attacked someone then i would have two knickles, wich isn't a lot bit is word it happened twice
The telltale game also has the bad ending where Nima saves the can and gets eaten by Rexy. Possibly she dropped it while getting killed and that’s how Dodgson got it.
I was surprised to see that Barbolsol Can here in the movie. A nice little nod to Jurassic Park and in my opinion. It symbolizes and leads to a ironic fate on what happened to Dodgson later on in JW: Dominion.
if he got the can, then he's probably the only person who knows what happened to Nedry as everyone else (in the film) kept saying in Jurassic Park there were 2 known casualties, because nobody knew what happened to Nedry and assumed he escaped the barbisol can wasn't too far from his truck, and thus his body so supposedly if it was still there then Dodgson is the only person to know what happened to Nedry
@@landonsrt9587 yea, fair point but at that point did they KNOW/REALIZE it was Nedry, or was his body just bones and scarps of fabric and they didn't recognize him, is what I wanna know!!
Someone from biosyn might have been waiting for nedry at docks and out of desperation went into park to find nedry who was eventually found killed and barbasol can was retreived
Fun fact. In the scene where Dodgson grabs the can, you can see the sickle claw from the Indoraptor on the shelf. How do i know its the Indoraptor? Well name one other raptor that has been all black, even its claws
I still think Brooklyn will have something to do with it. Like, maybe she found the can and somehow got ahold of Dodgson and she's actually his granddaughter. I mean, her last name could be Dodgson 🤷♀️
On one hand it would be way too big of a coincidence for TWO of our protagonists being related to rich CEO's of rival dinosaur cloning companies, but on the other hand it would explain how Brooklyn has the skills and money to afford creating the videos that she does. She could buy all the materials, hire help/teachers, and perhaps have some technical know-how from being raised by someone like Dodgson. I kind of like this concept, but I think it would go beyond most people's suspension of disbelief.
@@Jothomas214 that makes NO SENSE. Of COURSE Ludlow was Tim and Lex's uncle... his relationship to Hammond is 100% why he had the job that he did and was in his position.
Very sad that they used the wrong type of can! This one has a rounded top of the body, the original can was straight all the way up. Small, but its a well known detail among collectors of the classic Barbasol can replicas.
6:50 theory time, what if Dodgson and Biosyn were the ones who encouraged Dr. Henry Wu into creating generically modified dinosaur hybrids, and present them as new assets to the public in order to bring down the rival company's park from the inside
^ that. And that Wu was also asked by Masrani to create something new, something "cooler". It was said in the first Jurassic World. Then that military dude made some kind of deal to Wu, probably shortly before or after Masrani's death, due to the fight between Masrani and Wu, then he died, then gotten a new deal from Lockwood's assistant, or whoever that guy was, then most likely that Wu decided to apply to BioSyn, or BioSyn reached out to Wu, and then that's how he winded up there. Wu was just passionate about cloning Dino's and creating hybrids, and since Hammond died, and he felt like he was no longer appreciated by InGen due to Masrani (well, most likely InGen also was no more after JW had total chaos from the Indominous), he has no more ties to InGen, and so, BioSyn it is.
Personally, I'd love for the Congo easter egg to come back into it...there was a TV reference to Book Dogson's backstory there (If I remember right, it was the Rabies stunt)
I'd just assume Biosyn get involved in Mantah Corp's stuff. Maybe they buy them out and that's how they get the technology, like the chips and all that.
Treverrow likes Easter eggs more than properly written out story there’s so much potential in the Jurassic universe just play the tatem game there’s so much unanswered questions and time passed but we got voiceovers and travelling around the world with dinosaurs the movie (JWD) we don’t need this as a final movie treverrows fan films weren’t good too many plotholes still
I was wondering how he got the can when I saw the movie. When I was trying to piece together how that makes sense or how he could've gotten it, the first thing I suddenly remembered was that old video game I played on my Xbox360 years ago called "Jurassic Park: The Game!" I didn't play a whole lot of it, but I do remember 1 scene where the Barbosol can was found by some people sent to retrieve it after Dennis died (from what I remember at least)
I thought CC was a spin off of Jurassic World (2015) An interesting thing is that, chronologically, Jurassic World dominion is a spin off of Camp Cretaceous, there are already elements of the series in the film. Of course, obviously not really that, but within the chronology of the franchise, JWD is basically a spin off of CC.
its so shit that he found the barbasol can in one of the camp cretaceous episodes it would have been way cooler if it was when back in the day in 1994 or 95 he went to isla nublar to recover the embryos with a team of biosyn soldiers or something not just randomly find it in the middle of nowhere in a place that doesn't even look like the place where nedry lost it i hope they retcon this
We all need prequels for jurassic park tv show! You know about how john hammond made new park. Lewis dodgeson made by bioysn. Or something like that! That would be awesome! Forget jurassic world!
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous season 5, episode 6, "Out of the Pack," offers the explanation for Dodgson having the fateful Barbasol can. The director of BioSyn personally came to Isla Nublar to see a demonstration of Mantah Corp's dinosaur control technology. Dodgson joins Mr. Kon, Kenji, Dr. Mae Turner (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), and their mercenaries on a trek across Isla Nublar, and Lewis just happens to find the Barbasol can buried in the dirt. Recognizing it immediately, Dodgson says, "I haven't seen you in 25 years" and he takes the can, which still contains the long-dead dinosaur embryos, with him. In truth, the moment is utterly contrived since Dodgson randomly stumbles onto the Barbasol can, which was somehow in shallow dirt on the path he was walking on. It's a clumsy but straightforward explanation for how and why Dodgson has the Barbasol can in Jurassic World Dominion.
I'm 40 yrs old, I've seen all 6 in theaters, and I've read the Michael Chrighton(sp) books a few times, but even from a young age (14) I always thought it would have been awesome if the Barbasol can chryo feature failed, and/or the embryo vials got damaged somehow and mixed together, and the Barbasol can somehow would act like an egg for the whatever embryo forming inside. That woulda been awesome for sure, but yeah, lol, the imagination of me, from 30ish years ago
Thankfully, this was the FIRST thing I thought of *(because of Camp Cretaceous)* after walking out the theater. This is the only positive thing, that I have to say. Sorry.
Samuel Jackson is really the villain in my mind lol. Think about it.....his arm lost in jp1. Is the same arm anakin cut off in RotS. Yet in both cases his body is nowhere to be found. In king Kong he gets stomped lol. But his body is missing??? My theory is he survived and helped create the device. Used to release king Ghidorah.
Hear me out. I highly doubt the can in season 5 trailer is the same from 1993, and I also highly doubt the one from the season 5 trailer is the same can in dominion. Probably three different set of embryos. The can from the season 5 trailer was probably used to create the new dinos in the biosyn sanctuary (hopefully will be revealed in season 5), and the can from dominion is a new set that Dodgeson got and could've used for making more dinos and then lost it(cuz killed by dilos) which can totally expand the future of this franchise. Maybe Ramsay retreives the can and does smtn with it. Idk. We'll see ;)
Isnt it funny, how Both nedry and dodgson got killed by a dilophosaurus? And Both in a similar way aswell, Both had the Barbasol can when trying to get away, Both of their vehicles got stuck, and they Both got killed by a dilophosaurus in their vehicle
Idk I might be making no sense but I am taking a theory from another comment that biosyn got the can in the world era. So I will add onto that, when we see nedry being attacked by the dilophosaur the camera pans over to the barbosol can being buried in mud. When they found nedrys body they never thought to look for the barbosol can maybe, and then when masrani global and InGen abandoned Isla Nublar, biosyn probably went to nublar under detection and searched throughout the original park since maybe they had a map from the old park. Basically what swrve said but explained a little broken apart
There's no way the embryo's would have been viable by the time the can was found. The refridgerant in it would have timed out; killing the embryos inside the canister. The can was always a red herring in the franchise (it even shows up on the Jurassic Park River Ride at Universal Studios). The real driving force to create the dinos was Dr. Wu.
It was only soft canon basically a different timeline. That's why the events of the game were completely ignored by the movies & Isla Nublar was never bombed by the military.
@@rexfan1002 It's not 100% ignored. The island's volcano, Mt. Sibo, comes from the game. And there's enough left unexplored with Operation Clean Up to allow the game to remain mostly intact.
Did anyone else notice in Dominion when Dodson dies he too, drops the can?... Meaning there's potential someone else in the future could find it. For, whatever reason.
It's possible but still, the two people who knew about the importance of the can, Nedry and Dogson, are both dead, so if anyone else just happens to find the can, they'll probably assume it's just random trash and leave it there. XD
i noticed that the barbasol can wasnt period accurate. it had an accurate label and cap, but the can had the little curved ridge near the top where the can meets the edge of the aluminum, like modern shaving cream and soda cans. the one from the original movie used a 1990's can, which didnt have the curve. the original can design seen in the film also had a more bulbous and short white semi-circle below the top, under the cap. they must have used a modern day can and slapped the label on it. which means it breaks the continuity as it should be the same can, meaning a huge tied up loose end becomes a movie mistake creating a theoretical plothole.
I gotta say, the stuff with the Barbasol Can disappointed me - but considering Seasons 4 and 5 of Camp Cretaceous and not to mention Dominion itself, what else is new? But I legit thought that Dodgson would have _presence_ as the final antagonist of the series, and possibly, _be the character he was supposed to be_ from the books. I thought him getting the Barbosol Can would be a lot more complicated than it ended up being; because realistically, he wouldn't find it, _unless he was looking for it._ But in the show...he just finds it in the middle of a dirt-path. And it's just _there._ They literally only did it just for the sake of doing it, and had no real reverence for what that can represented. The only thing I get from this, is that it potentially resolves something. See - there's no way that Kenji and his Dad's team were leading them near the Dilophosaurus area where Nedry initially lost the canister. So the idea of Dodgson finding it in the middle of the road isn't possible. And that's where Jurassic Park: The Game (by Telltale) comes in. I don't care if fans don't consider it canon anymore; even Colin Trevorrow claims the game is _soft-canon_ to the JW movies - meaning that events _did happen,_ but largely don't impact the story nor happen exactly the way the game depicts. That game was made to explain the fate of the canister. So how does it do? Well, the game ends with the survivors escaping and the canister being crushed under Rexy's foot...but that's if you get the _good ending._ There's also a bad-ending where Nima doesn't survive. In that ending Nima goes to save the canister instead of rescuing Jess - and she gets _eaten_ by the Rex for her troubles. She had the canister on her while she was swallowed. The canister is going to survive it's journey through the Rex and come-out the other end. And this could potentially happen _anywhere on the island_ after that point... Meaning that it's highly likely that the Bad-Ending of Jurassic Park: The Game is the _Canon-Ending,_ to explain how the canister got there. Nima got eaten, and Rexy passed the canister out with whatever else she had eaten. Over time, the droppings would decompose, and eventually, the canister would get buried in the dirt. That's the canon that I choose to believe. I still don't like how Dodgson just _stumbles across it though._
It's Dodson not Dodgson XD And Rap for the boys Don't go into the long grass Raptors will slaughter Dat A$$ Life closing quick with every gash Cut qick with every slash Bones broke like a bat to glass To heads running for a clash Raptors run speed thinking they flash Better take a drink from Dat flask your life's about to flash He's gonna be back packing yo A$$
Camp Cretaceous already completely half asses explanations with no or lazy answers. So I’m going to keep my expectations rock bottom. Though even that didn’t help dominion
But Swrve shouldn't another important question be what is going to happen to the barbasol can in future universe movies and tv shows since it was just left lying in the tunnel?
My theory, manta corp found the can in 1993, or someone else can get me started Manta Corp. Dodson went in as an investor, found the can, and took it home.
I think Lewis Dodgson went to Isla noblar after nedry failed to show up at the dock mine you Lewis Dodgson gave nedy three quarters of a million dollars in advance surly biosyn would have an insurance policy Incase Dennis failed biosyn probably put as tracker on the can Lewis Dodgson probably received the can either a week or the day after the events of Jurassic park when there was no one in the island
anyone know the definition of Canon this is the definition a general law, rule, principle, or criterion by which something is judged that could mean the comic book Batman vs predator is Canon
@@joaquinbarboza3223 I doubt it would be of much use after all that time. Things in that state tend to degrade quite rapidly once exposed. He'd likely have better samples from other clandestine actions.
@@ExtremeMadnessX amber creates a fossil. They aren't actually using DNA from that time frame. They are making genetically engineered theme park monsters. Made of dna from frogs. They just resequenced them to be similar to what they found from fossil records of dna in the movie. It wasn't actually living dna. This stuff didn't have time or the environment to fossilize. It would simply have degraded. Leaving very little to read.
My theory is mantah corp is a sub division of biosyn and Dodgson went to Jurassic world shortly after the kids get to mantah corp island now there was no humans alive on nublar
I think the Utah Raptor claw is an Easter egg to the raptor claw that was shown in the first movie when we hear how the raptors hunt and kill their prey.
Can you explain how the Giga and the other lil' dino were in Biosyn and how they could make pure dinosaurs without filling the holes with other genes ? Thank you
It's actually mentioned in the new Biosyn campaign in JWE2. Basically the amber in the mines contains pure dinosaur DNA. Even more so the deeper they go down. Which is why the Therizinosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, & Pyroraptor have feathers.
I really enjoyed dominion but can see why people didnt like it (was different then any other JP....felt like a spy thriller with dinosaurs) but was dispointed no easter eggs to camp cretacious. Though I figured walking in (and out) that we did have them but wont realize till season 5. Yes...them controling the dinosaurs was both in the movie and season 4. But I was disapointed Mamoudou Athie's character wasnt playing Darius' brother or no easter egg revealing Bumpy....or even a slight mention of an incidient involving a camp or mention of Manticorp (unless we learn in reality they are Bysosyn) i hate to say due to CC not being mentioned (even though events and features coincide) in fk or dominion. They could easily sweep it under the rug and say it isnt canon.
There is an Easter egg to Camp Cretaceous. The implants that tell the Dinosaurs to go to a specific place? That's just a modification of the Camp Cretaceous implants from season 4.
If this hasn’t been discussed yet, I have one theory, but it’s disgusting: Think back regarding the events in the game, when Nima was sent to retrieve the can by BioSyn, who was also accompanied by the park’s veterinarian and his daughter. During a fight with the T-Rex, Nima had to choose between saving the daughter, or the can. Because of the fact that the save the daughter ending would’ve had the can crushed, it’s sad to say that Nima actually went after the can, because if she didn’t, Lewis would never have retrieved it. As she grabbed the can, the T-Rex grabbed and devoured Nima whole. Moreover, the catch being, what if the T-Rex ate the can with Nima? IMO, the only possible way that the can would’ve been found in the forest, and not at the docks was the fact that after the fight, the T-Rex “crapped” the can out at that spot, where it also contained Nima and Yoder’s digested remains in the excrement. A couple of decades have passed, and during the events of Camp Cretaceous Season 5, Lewis stumbled across the can in the Dilophosaurus nesting grounds buried under sediment. If my theory is correct, Lewis carried an actual “can of crap” with him to BioSyn! Feel free to prove my theory wrong if there is any other logical explanation.
Man, this is disappointing. Why couldn't they make more movies that explain this stuff? Create a new dino thriller about a team retrieving the can on Nublar. I couldn't care less about what goes on in Camp Cretaceous.
did you ever consider it's not Lewis Dodgson during the events of the original Jurassic Park the incident took place in 1992 the man would be very old and would not be capable of going to a place infested with dinosaur the man is practically in a simmer frame and there's no chance it's cannon because that island was destroyed by volcano Jurassic world fallen Kingdom but then again what is Canon because the books are completely different to the movies and by the way the books are written long before the first Jurassic Park movie so that will make the books Canon not the movies
SPOILER ALERT* Yes Lewis Dodgson Is in S5 And he found it. And Mr. Kon (mantah corp leader) Didn't know what it was... And maybe where he found it is where Dennis Nedry Died.
