A loan extension agreement allows the maturity date or the date that the loan was scheduled to be paid in full, to be extended on a current loan.
Loan extensions usually happen when the borrower goes through a difficulty that leaves them unable to pay for a loan for an amount of time. This could be a job loss, a medical emergency, or any other circumstances.
