I listen a lot to Jonathan Pageau I love the discussions that he has with many people. He is a deep, amazing, brilliant thinker. He makes icons, and he knows an awful lot. I think this video kind of reminds me of that type of interaction. I see on Jonathan‘s videos. I like these discussions. They’re really really good. So thanks for this and I’ll listen to more of yours when you have more of this type of stuff on it it’s great - Why don’t you have Jonathan talking to this gentleman and have that going on as well? Because you don’t have to always just be a Catholic right? He’s amazing and he’s orthodox but he’s awesome. How about we get together with everybody who are great amazing thinkers, and talk! Even Jordan Peterson gets in on it. He learns from you guys because he listens and he asks questions… maybe you’ve done this. I don’t know but it’s a good idea in my opinion because I listen to them a lot and I’m a cradle Catholic. Thank you!!

2. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, for a saved person.

I knew the school was Quaker... George Fox, founder. 2 branches of Quaker: traditional meeting house-tends to be liberal, less Christ centered more Holy Spirit and the more evangelical Quaker, looks like a typical evangelical.

So, anyway you look at it, God has broad shoulders. Btw saved for what?

Saved for life in union with God. Saved for the fullness of life. Saved to see God face to face in love. Saved to experience the fullness of joy. They discussed it near the beginning of the talk, divinization, to be brought into the life of God. This does not mean that we become in ourselves divine, but that we share in God’s life.

1. The devil is NOT in hell currently, nor was he during the resurrection. He is loose and is king of this world, by God’s permissive will. I’m not sure how much more tooth-sucking left coast uptalk I can take but I’ll try, go on.

I mean, the devil is a fallen angel and therefore not physical. So he really isn't in any one place at any given time. We know of course he can't be in heaven, but I think it's safe to say he's both in hell and out and about in the world. It's also important to say that he's been defeated and that he can only act within God's will.

3. Ugh. Purgatory. You all just looooove every book except the Bible.

Where in the bible does it say that nothing can be believed if it is not written explicitly in the bible?

Depends on what bible you are talking about. If you are talking about the Christian infallible bible; then there is plenty of scriptural proof for purgatory. If, however, you are talking about protestant 'holy books' which were invented in the 1600's and beyond, and chopped and changed things fro the True Bible to suit their opinions; then perhaps not.

There are passages in the New Testament that point to a process of purification after death, which is all Purgatory is. Matthew 12:32; I Cor 3, 11-15; Plus we are aware of the Apostolic practices of praying for the dead, we see archaeological evidence in the catacombs of Rome and on certain grave stones (this was prior to the 4th Century, when the Canon of the Bible was put together). To avoid Purgatory is relatively easy. All you need do is the Will of God (which Catholics call being in a state of grace).
