The poison had a buff that reduces damage taken and a debuff that destroys muscles permanently. Since he can detoxify negative effect, he only got the buff
Yeah they mention it heals him but it doesn't. The potions he took healed him a bit (3x potions at 100hp each), but the venom that he drank had a -20% PERMANENT damage reduction. As mentioned, the detox buff removed the negative side effect of the poison so he only got the positive buff out of it. Big brain plays. They actually changed it a bit from the manwha because there he drinks it back in his room after he realizes the beer isn't working so he already has the reduction going into the fight but this adds more drama so not a bad change
Important to point out that the buff is -20% Physical damages only since it hardens his skin like that of the Kasaka’s scale. If that Cerberus was spitting fire or something other than biting him, the buff would do nothing for him. Not to mention on top of this, his Willpopwer buff gives him a flat -50% damage reduction which encompasses all types of damages. He is now practically his own tank I would say. And also another lucky brush against death.
So a lot of people don't understand or are confused to how Jinwoo was able to (barely) defeat Cerberus. One thing is that Cerberus is NOT a boss, just a gatekeeper for the Demon's Castle door. Jinwoo was able to stack a lot of stats together. We don't see a HP bar for the dungeon boss/other creatures so we can't exactly gauge how much damage Jinwoo is causing to these beasts. - his Venom Dagger weapon - has +25 attack, paralysis and drain (-1% health per second) - Title: Wolf Assassin - which gave him +40% damage to beasts - did 'Full Recovery' - which probably healed him 70-80% + healed his arm back - passive ability: Willpower - when his HP is low about 30%, he gets -50% less damage (only flashed on screen for 1 second, most likely missed by many) - bought healing potions - which only heals +100 HP per bottle (he got 3, which is +300HP) - Venom Poison (from the snake fight in ep 4) - which gave him -20% physical damage. [his immune to poison which negated the -35% strength] Jinwoo was only able to cause some damage to Cerberus after Cerberus' 'Rage' ability ended. So by the end Jinwoo was tanking Cerberus' attacks [-50% from Willpower + -20% from Venom Poison] at least -70% less damage. They off-screened Jinwoo killing two heads, so it might have looked unnatural to see him defeat Cerberus by killing one head at the end.
from being on low life he had "willpower" pop up which lowered incoming dmg and then the poison he drank also gave a -20% dmg taken and his "detox" got rid of the negative and the 300 life he got from the potions kept him just above deaths door / edit: also normal dailies when he was in hospital gave 3 points and the double daily gives 10 so is a massive boost to stat growth
I've never seen a reaction of clapping for a microphone in my life. It was such a cute and lovely reaction. It's a great animation and I look forward to your next video. I hope you have a wonderful day.
I was trying to decide if I preferred them making Cerberus stronger compared to the Manhwa, visually the fight was better but he wasn’t too easy in the Manhwa but no way near as hard in the animated version which did seem strange to how fast he went down whereas in the Manhwa, I didn’t think much when he was taken down as he didn’t seem as an impossible hurdle.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t remember him drinking the poison during the fight. And instead remembering it as he drank it at home either before or after while testing his healing blessing
@@Bigvig_of_bogvog yes u remembered correctly, after testing with the beer he drinks it in his room. The little changes I'm fine with and the fight was entertaining just felt with how much harder they made it went down a bit too fast, felt it should of taken more which is not something I felt when reading
your right he didnt, they adapted it for him to drink it during the fight in the anime while in the manhwa he drank it at home, which tbh could add to why it looked easier for him to beat in the manhwa than the anime.@@Bigvig_of_bogvog
4:08 well being a guildmaster is not easy. the minimum requirement it to defeat the 20 c rank gates which includes defeating the dungon boss moreover , the most important thing is money. there might be many people who completed the first requirement but the amount of money is again a big thing.
Jinho is saying Aniki. The subtitles are translating as "Boss," but it is actually "Elder Brother," and it's used as a way of showing respect in Japan. In the original Korean, it was Hyung and for the same reason. Its localized to "Boss" for english speakers because its closer to what they mean since when we call people "Big Bro," it doesn't always carry the respect it does for them. It's also less cluncky.
No, Cerberus was immune to the Paralysis, and Drain. After he stabs Cerberus in the eye, the same red alert screen that warns Menacing Glare didn't work shows up twice, once for the Paralyss, and once for the Drain. In the LN, the fight wasn't as hard as it shows in the anime. It was still a very difficult fight, but nothing like this episode.
@@TelsMavistonYou can see that after its rage effect was over it started to bleed alot from it's eye. The rage effect made it immune at first to paralysis and drain but afterwards it was vulnerable to it. So Jinwoo concentrated his attacks on that eye until he was able to pierce it and kill it.
I'm not certain, but I think he had a 70% damage reduction at the end which effectively tripled his remaining HP. He gets 50% from Willpower (17:26 on crunchyroll) when he gets below 30% HP and then he added another 20% from the Kasaka venom--which is now permanent.
mo fo literally had a 70% damage reduction in the last bit im sure during that bit Cerberus was also under the debuff of 50% but that one idk so much. that shows you how dead he should have been.
Just like how goblins are E-rank, and there are also goblins in D and C-Rank gates. You can expect High C-Rank and A-Ranks in a S-Rank dungeon at the beginning. The gate keeper was only the very tip of the iceberg. 0.01% of whats actually inside the castle/tower.
you mentioned how the item from the blessed loot box didnt look blessed, and that's because of how those two loot boxes work (blessed and cursed). The blessed box gives you something you want, while the cursed box gives you something you need. the want in this instance is the key that ended up in him being able to craft the elixir, which he wanted to cure his mom
I think in the novel they explain the differences between blessed and cursed lootboxes. The blessed lootboxes gives you something that you want. The cursed lootboxes give you something that you need. In this case he wants to cure his mother so when he used the blessed lootbox he got a key to a dungeon that will drop items to cure his mother.
The measuring device seemed to measure mp, which Jinwoo also has in his stat menu (and was 10 there too when he started) so they can probably measure him.
Remember when they tested his mana it read 10 and the fitst time we see his status window at level 1 all of his base stats were at 10 so the device accurately read his mana stats
One thing to note that although it is set up like a game, we still got to rememebr that this enemies are actual living things. unlike games, we dont have to whittle down HP to kill an enemy, repeated attacks to a beings head would kill a living thing, its just whether you a quick enough or strong enough to hit that weak spot
*_A few things you may have missed_* 1) Cerberus is not a boss he is just the gatekeeper basically a random mob and he is classed low A rank. Side Note; I know it's confusing but the rank of the dungeon does not correlate to the mobs and bosses in the dungeon. The rank of the dungeon is determined by the total amount of mana creatures and bosses inside it emit collectively (they mentioned this a few episodes ago). So you can have an A-rank dungeon that has hundreds of c rank mobs and one high B or A-rank boss OR you can have a few low B rank mobs and one High A rank boss in both cases it will probably still be classed as an A rank dungeon. Also Ranks in his instance / personal dungeons are usually harder than stuff in the real world. Take it on a case-by-case basis As you get higher the gaps between ranks are insane. This is why they showed you Cha Hae last episode, people who have high potential in Hunters guild placed in a team to do an A-rank dungeon that couldn't touch an A-rank boss and Cha an S-rank one-shot it. Even within S rank, you have massive gaps of power as big as from c to A ( there is more to this but that's spoiler territory) 2) When he is below 30 % health he gets the Willpower buff that makes him take 50% LESS damage. In total with the Kasaka venom and will power he was tanking 70% less damage while his hp was below 30. 3)The poison potion he took made him take 20% LESS physical damage at the cost of 35% strength but because he has immunity to poisons from Kandairu's blessing it negated the negative effect of that potion because it is classed as a poison. Also, he has stupid amounts of strength so he can afford to lose it but it doesn't matter his passive negated the poison effect 4) When Berserk/ rage mode ended for Cerberus Jinwoo cut the throat of 2 of the heads. the delayed damage from the berserk took effect when the buff dropped that's why one of the eyes exploded. He had to stab the 3rd one in the eye repeatedly to get the kill Something else to note Jinho did not threaten Jinwoo in the manhwa and novel he basically promised to never reveal his secret even if Jinwoo won't help him. I don't know why they did it that way in the anime. Jinho is a good boy.
"how did he do it?" wolf assassin buff potions 1 full recovery akasa´s poison (20% dmg reduction) 50% dmg reduction from his unique skill "willpower", which activates once he is down to 50% HP add all of that to a butt load of willpower and a shit ton of luck
Jinwoo previously cleared c rank dungeon on its own and an c rank commarade which means he is higher C or low B and now he meets Cerberus with red name which indicates its lower higher A or lower s.so conclusion the items (used to craft elixir of life) drop by monsters in s rank instant dungeon is mainly s rank bosses.(dont forget the title wolf slayer buff).
Cerberus is not S rank Dungeon is S rank (Castle) Cerberus is castle's guardian and cerberus' rank is low/mid A rank. Jinwoo is probably low/mid B rank. With this fight You can see the power difference between A rank and B rank. S rank is another level
His buddy calling him "boss" isn't a perfect translation. He is calling him "big bro" in a slang way that ppl use to call someone that is above them. Like a cooler way to call a male senpai.
For everyone who's wondering why Jin-woo drank the Kasaka's Venom Gland. Where clearly stated that the Venom's Potion's effect are Hardened Skin where he received 20% PHYSICAL DAMAGE REDUCTION , BUT he will receive Weakened Muscles where his Strength are greatly affected by negating 35 points from his current stats. It's like a double edge sword. So Jin-Woo didn't like the effect from this Item considering his current level and Stats by the time he acquired it so he temporarily store this to his inventory. However he recently discovered that he have his PASSIVE titled Secret Quest: Courage Of The Weak. There are two Buff Effects from this passive. First are the Temporary Effect; where his ANY DISMEMBERED body parts are RESTORED. The Second one are very OP and IT IS PERMANENT, meaning this is always on effect any time. Longevity; where all DISEASES, POISONS, and STATUS EFFECTS ( like Stuns, Slow, etc. you can think of any abnormal effects ) are HEALED or completely DISABLED; AND, SLEEPING will explosively increase his REGENERATION abilities ( include all his Healing capabilities like Healing Potions, his first reward from his Daily Quest; Full Recovery, etc. ). So he Gambles it by drinking the Venom Gland and fortunately his PASSIVE negate the abnormal effect where he can lose 35 Strength where it's really a great loss to him and he only got the BUFF that he will recieve 20% PHYSICAL DAMAGE REDUCTION. During this Fight where his HP are critically low, this is now where his other PASSIVE SKILL, the WILLPOWER on play. When Jin-Woo reaches 30% HP or LESS, he will receive 50% PHYSICAL DAMAGE REDUCTION. It's a great help to him considering Cerberus are using Skill that enhances his abilities by 100% for 3 minutes and mostly its Physical Damage. So Jin-woo need some protection to avoid being one shoted by Cerberus. Now his two Passive are on effect. He is currently on whopping receiving 70% PHYSICAL DAMAGE REDUCTION. The only reason why did he drink the Venom Potion, not because he can heal by it or Cerberus can be poison by Jin-Woo's Blood or whatever, but because he have no other choice but to increase his resistance to Physical Damages. PS: The reason why Jin-Woo hid the Teleportation Stone in his pocket instead to his Inventory because of this;( Decription from Manhwa ) Item: Heartstone (Teleportation Stone) Type: Consumable A quest-exclusive item. If you break the Heartstone, you will instantly leave the Dungeon. CONNOT BE STORED.
The Cerberus fight was a bit different than manhwa (anime showed him a bit modest), in manhwa he was a menace in the end. also the system screens in anime are too short to read through. The venom he drank was kasaka’s venom a rare item he got from instance dungeon, this makes his skin tough but his muscles are permanently damaged. But since he has ability to detoxify his body the muscle damage would not happen.
No Spoilers: The Kasaka venom potion (from killing the snake), gave him +20% physical damage reduction, and his detox ability removed the (-25% strength) negative effect. Also if you noticed you could see he had a passive ability: (Willpower: at less than 30% HP he received 50% less damage!). Those 2 defense buffs plus his Wolf assassin damage buff (+40% damage done to animal type beasts) are what made the difference this fight. If i had to guess, that Cerberus was maybe a mid to low A class beast. I don't think it was S class. God damn this anime is a literal game and it's so fucking fun!
At this time jinwoo was a mid B rank and cerberus was low A rank the only reason jinwoo was able to win is because he used a full recovery, 3 healing potions, kasaka's venom gland and he had the title wolf assassin which increases his abilities by 40% against beast types. So only due to all those reasons was jinwoo able to win
Maybe the brother is an S rank and he just doesn't live in Korea, so that's why he wasn't included in the "7 S ranks" Originally, I thought that Cerberus was a trash mob if the S rank dungeon, not the boss. I was like "dude is F*****
System is always baiting him with what he needs so that he will keep working hard. Its definitely upto no good. Very sus Ps- not just bait it uses coercion too 😂
About jin woo already being a S rank is false. Because the Boss of the dungeon is S rank. Not the ceberus. And he was able to beat the ceberus because of his title as well. Which gave him 50 percent damage boost against wolf/dog monsters
20 is not much when youre playing a game that is IRRL you could die on your 2nd/5th/7th raid and never even get to 20 but if you manage to survive 20 then sounds like you know what youre doing to survive so ppl would follow you normally
people really underestimating A rank, that cerberus wasnt even high b rank lmao, u will know this after a couple more eps as SPOILERS: its shows the real power of a high b rank
@@Anne-mn9fs I highly doubt that this obscure comment of mine will garner any attention, but to answer your question, its quite simple. If you pay close attention to this dude's breakdown of each scene, you'll start seeing a pattern. Like, take the moment around 2:04 where he's like, "His whole personality is changing." I checked out a bunch of reaction channels, and they all say the exact same thing ("Sung is changing", "Sung losing humanity", etc) at that exact point in the episode. Coincidence? I think not. Then, at 7:10, he suddenly notices Sukuna's voice actor, out of the blue. Sukuna's VA is a great performer, but his voice doesn't jump out at you to an extent where he'd be instantly recognizable. I mean, if you're genuinely reacting to the episode for the first time, would you really be able to pick up on something so subtle in a split second? Even if you did, would you really care to highlight it the way he did? You would be too invested in what is happening in the episode to connect the dots that quickly. Then I remembered seeing it mentioned on other reaction channels and Reddit threads that the same VA played Sukuna. Funny isn't it? This kinda thing happens on loads of reaction channels these days. Except for a few that drop their vids super fast after an episode, most of them seem to be pre-watched. They pick out key points and observations ahead of time and act like they're noticing them for the first time. Just regular business of milking the content to oblivion for the views. Like, come on, give us the real deal, not some rehearsed script! Sadly, most people are blindly following the hype train to notice these things.
@@zeitgeist2043buddy this reaction video was uploaded on patreon right after the episode aired. Now iif they watched this same episode 2 times within the period of a few hours and also researched random facts like who is sukuna va playing here then they are insane.
@@subhamanand5416 My hypothesis is, even if they are reacting to the episode for the first time, they have definitely sought out these details and potentially a general idea about the episode in advance from other sources like Reddit threads and forum comments. All their other videos follow the same pattern as well. I highly doubt this is a genuinely blind first time reaction, at least from the guy.
