Nolan Ryan. He is considered the greatest pitcher of all time and he has changed a lot throughout his career mechanically. It would be interesting to see how you break down how he throws mid 90s for his size for how long his career was.

Thank you for the tutorial. I'm 67 years old, legally blind left-handed pitcher. I throw a 44 to 88 pitch open into a net in my backyard.. I appreciate this excellent advice.

@17:14 (golf coach here) he’s creating the opposing force for the remaining uncoil and release to accelerate against. One of the first pitchers that has caught my eye in a long time.

It's obvious that a lot of the velocity is coming from his blocking timed perfectly with his torso rotation. His timing of everything from his foot to his fingertips is so tight that it's like a whip.

I was arguing about drift 20 years ago when I was pitching. Back then coaches would always say you should be completely balanced over the rubber when you are lifting your front leg. Not only did it feel wrong, it never made sense from a physics standpoint

@treadathletics Any tips on how to go from front leg extension to rotation? I'm looking at the position Miller is in at ~2:30, and I just don't understand how he is getting the leverage to make such a tight rotation in such a short period of time. If you pause where he gets his leg fully extended, and then look at the next few frames, he's rotated his belt buckle and got his left arm across his left leg really quickly ,,,He's getting all of his weight to his left side in like a tenth of a second. If I put myself in that position, I can't see how I'd generate that torque. Any insights into what is going on mechanically?

We discuss that move in most of our breakdowns if you check out some others as well. But here are some resources for training that transfer of energy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o3SqB6symC0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D2iBFwUSphg.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IpMhApgnqBo.html

how do I know my movement bias' as you mention? in my "coil", I am definitely a guy whos shin is more vertical inot stride, but how do I know if that's right for me or if it's just a forced result of improper coaching

Wonder how fast the ball is crossing home plate using radar MLB used to measure speed for 40 years from 1975 - 2015 until MLB and statcast decided to boost speed for the fans up 4-6 mph by reading at release before gravity, spin, altitude, environmental conditions and distance kicks in and affects the top speed ? 🤔

I don't like lifting my leg the More your leg stay s lower to the ground u get more Ballance and accuracy...
@user-dk1zr4vo3y
@user-dk1zr4vo3y Месяц назад
thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard, having a high leg kick can improve rythm and timing while giving you room to drop down and produce force from the ground up. A high leg kick can also be an indication that a player is moving atheletically.

sebastien definitely knows what hes talking about, I'll probably listen to you and not the guy who throws 104
@bugsbunny9334
@bugsbunny9334 Месяц назад
Throwing overhead when your arm slot can be biologically different is a sure way to murder your shoulder. I am speaking from experience, after a pitching clinic incorrectly coached my into raiding my arm over my shoulder and misaligning my arm, shoulder, and torso. Resulted in a rotated tear which effectively ended my baseball career.

He’s maximizing his genetics with training. So mostly hard work. Genetics would be a 24 year old, not playing high school or college and then getting signed at an open tryout throwing 100 with little to no training.
@edwardhanlon5493
@edwardhanlon5493 Месяц назад
@@lancastergerard thousands and thousands of guys work hard. And will never come close to throwing 104. Because their genetics won't allow them to.

when he getting old his velo will decrease so fast, because he is not pitching like chapman who utilize the whole body and also lower half this Miller is best example of using hte arm swing to reach that high 90s this guy will never be a hof what a waste of talent
@paulberliner8357
@paulberliner8357 5 дней назад
Dude. This video is so long and you dont focus on what makes Mason different. Its the LOCKING of the left leg upon delivery. NO ONE DOES THAT. He may be onto something, Mason is. I realize that the natural motion is for that lef to almost lock but not completely. By completely locking that leg at the knee, He is cantilevering himself. Focus more on that leg, that's his secret!
