Furthermore... as long as the car is stable on the road then I consider that a good handling car. Oh and comfort is also important too but I like a bit of firmness to it.
@Richard Favreau why??? Other than being smart with cash. Why would you pick a cheap pure plastic car that's thinly insulated, screams bare basics interior and trim.
@Richard Favreau might be an age thing. Carolla the newer one does look like a baby Avalon. But again my friend works at yota, and I've checked them out. Very popular and freaking bullet proof. But feel way too small still and lack of power. My camry xle has the same of these features as shown on this car review, and I think that's about as small as I'd go, even with the anemic 4 cyl
Many of us know the father(mom)/son(daughter) bond can be close. I'm loving the Roman-Tommy team. There's no better at TFL. Someone needs to make a 6.2" Roman figure to represent whatever!
+30 points for lots of hard/real buttons/controls in the interior. -10 points for the "Frankenstein Knobs" around the instrument cluster. -50 points for no touch-screen interface.
I AM SORRY. LOOK AT THE SCREEN. READ THE SCREEN. DON'T BLAME THE CAR. READ THE SCREEN. It says, very clearly, "Find a nearby." Why, oh why, oh why, oh why, must YOU always IGNORE the instructions that EVERY car gives you? You need to press the "talk" button, wait for the beep, then say "Find Snarf's." THAT IS ALL YOU NEED TO DO. Just read the instructions it gives you. The CAR doesn't fail -- YOU fail. I'm generally very happy with your videos, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, could you PLEASE read the instructions -- just once -- instead of blaming the car?
When you´re young and ask yourself: "What am I going to look like in the future". Tnx guys, great as always. Please make it mandatory to measure dB at 60, I´m all in for comfort.
Hello , gentlemen , thank you for the video , and keeping it real , ljust lie a normal guy would go test drive. I'd appreciate if you guys please review the Lexus LS hybrid. I'm stuck between the ES or LS hybrid. Great videos , lots of priceless dad and son memories. Thank you and hola from Miami , FL gentlemen. 🌴
Snow already?! I'm in Canada, yet it hit 29C (84F) yesterday, with the humidex making it feel 34C (91F). I won't be ditching shorts for at least another month. Anyway, as always that was a great and informative vid. And Roman must have had a Snickers bar before filming as he wasn't as wound up as he was in yesterday's vid.
I have hybrid 2017. Love it amazing car. Drives like or even better than E class Mercedes. Only difference mine give 1000km for a full tank 65 liters and reliable car vs totally opposite Mercedes.
Very underrated car, in my opinion It isn't the most exciting one, but damn is it comfortable, reliable, spacious, easy to use, safe, and it isn't overpriced unlike german competitors. And of course, lexus reliability which can allow you to have it for a longer period of time, and helps with resale value And the v6 in non hybrid one, is so fcking smooth:)
Great review as usual guys!!! That acceleration run was golden!!! Three dudes, a mile above sea level and it still pulled hard!!! Side note, I wish Lexus will give this new ES some good attention to help fill the gap left by the GS (R.I.P.)
Pray to Allah for that. Know God, who is worthy of worship and to ask help. Anybody who associate partners to God is very dangerous. Watch Ahmed Deedat debate
I find it so ironic that Japan...Lexus can do it better than ANY German car maker....Germans build expensive unreliable junk. MB and BMW should be ashamed.
Get a used one. They ride really nice and smooth. Very reliable and low maintenance. About to get a 2015 ES 250 in the coming days. People will always point out the performance numbers, spec sheets and space of camrys and avalons are very similar if not outright the same as the lexus. However, the camry does NOT ride the same as the Lexus, nor is the transmission the same; camrys tend to use cvts as opposed to lexus using traditional automatic gearboxes
@Richard Favreau I actually forgot that newer camrys reverted back to traditional automatics. Some older ones do use cvts though. Also, I forgot to mention that it's the es series that continues to use traditional automatics, not all lexus models.
What I don’t like about the ES is that you can’t get heated rear seats, 4 way lumbar for the passenger or folding rear seats, three things that the Avalon hybrid even offers But what’s more unforgivable is that the Es AWD is using the same power train as the Camry AWD, Avalon awd, and the rav4 xle AWD: 2.5L I4
200k people dead but Mr. First Worlder is complaining about rear seat heaters (that would get used once every 3 years, if that) and 4 way lumbar on a passenger seat. Sure the Avalon has them - it also has an even more ridiculous grille than this, and an absolutely hideous deal-breaking interior with floating ipad in the middle. Good luck with that.
So I’ve just finished a review on the Lexus ES300h, not to mention I drive one for a daily. But here in Australia the Sports Luxury (our top of the range) - you get heated rear seats with reclining function.
It is true. I had one of these for a day while our SC430 went in for airbag recall. Quiet, comfortable, good power. Just as important, everything in the interior was just top quality. I learned how to use the track pad in 10 minutes.
Very nice presentation. You both guys are an excellent workteam. I felt as a part of your family. The info is very useful and the video truly represents a guideline for decision making on buying a car. Congratulations! and regards from Mexico.
I do not understand h8w cars are marketed in the USA We have trim levels Es 300h Es 300h F sport Es 300h Takumi So you want a fully loaded car you by the Takumi trim level If you where to buy and es then spec it up,you end up paying $20000 more than the top spec car. The when you come to trade in, your car is valued as a base spec car as we do not count option in our used car prices, so the car is valued on the base spec price as is your insurance so you loose all tgst money you soent out Where is you purchased a es Takumi the car us valued at that price. There no point in buy a base car and adding choosing from the option list.
best comment ever... starts out clear and legible ... by the end your just mashing the keyboard! hahaha omg thats so funny... ill bet you cant respond after smashing the keyboard into a wall after hitting save
Here in Australia there are the 3 models : ES300h Luxury - 68k ES300h F-Sport - 78k ES300h Sports Luxury - 84k But wheat they’ve done is instead of giving you options to buy they call it an enhancement pack and give you a bunch of stuff. So then you can get: ES300h Luxury Enhancement Pack - 78k ES300h F-Sport Enhancement Pack - $82k As well It makes it very confusing cos the luxury with EP comes with almost all the features the sports luxury gets but is only 5k cheaper but technically is still a base model....
Its a shame they make a great car so ugly on the outside and the dash looks to busy with all the angels. The two way knobs where used by General motors back in the 90s . Is amazing that all the stuff that is "new " was criticized back in the day when the American manufacturers used it wood trim, chrome, being soft and comfortable .
I would lease it. Snow in September in Colorado. SMH. Meanwhile some states are literally on fire. Not uncommon for your state as well. Congrats on the better weather. :) A digital Rolodex # changer? lol Fads coming full circle. ;) Quieter for your in ride experience than it sounded in the vid. Strange.
Tommy, you got excellent style friend, love your hoodie. Now onto the Lexus ES, I'm going to put myself on front street here and say I always associate an ES with those 50 and up. It's a Toyota Camry in an expensive but comfortable suit.
I was out in Boulder visiting my sister when that snow rolled in. We, instead of doing what you two crazy guys did, stayed inside, drank wine, ate pasta and chicken and watched the snow fall. That does sound like a sweet Lexus if you want a comfortable, quiet ride in the lap of luxury.
Lexus surpasses all the competition in every imaginable aspect. Why would anyone even consider anything else is beyond me. The Japanese know how to make cars.
For a luxury brand this is a big miss as is the LS500h. At least this Camry/Avalon version ranks higher than a 52 out 100 in Consumer Reports rankings of the LS500.
California also. Fires everywhere. Especially thankful for all the environmental agencies that don't allow us to put in fire breaks here or allow overburden clearing so the fires can burn 1000's of acres instead of hundreds. So dumb.
Richard Favreau 31 is old? You’ve cut me deep Richard 🤣. I understand I’ve been blessed and have had a good like so far. BUT I’m not Frank Sinatra old. He did die in ‘98 and boy would I have LOVED to see him live. I’m sure I’m in the minority of 31 year olds who listen to old blue eyes for fun.
Car navigation and car commands are awful. Doesn’t work it’s inefficient and Lexus is really bad at it, of course it’s a Toyota backend which is even worst
$50k + for a 4 cyl luxe sedan (hybrid or not) does not even subliminally communicate value. As sedans continue to decline in popularity, it may be a much better value prop to look at an off lease CPO model.
@@PeterXChhanX just checked used prices for the 2019 models and they hold their value pretty well. Was hoping they would be pretty cheap since sedans are so unpopular nowadays
