What great content! ECU tuning is a subject that has always held a very high interest for me. It is truly amazing to see how far things have come since I was involved in that stuff in the late 90's/early 00's.
Glad you like it! We will try and do more especially as we go in depth to the strategies behind it! Sometimes I think I’m getting too geeky to make it entertaining for viewers!
Came across this channel with the Guy Martin episode. Slowly working my way through the rest as this guy's knowledge is incredible! Great channel for any petrol head 👍
I have a stock Huracan sto I use for track days. What happens to the standard screen displays? Do they stay the same? My main interest is Trofeo/Track mode traction control retune - to allow more yaw/oversteer under acceleration and braking. I imagine with the number of Huracan's out there more and more will get into the hands of people who want to track and time attack an otherwise oem car. Now, I just see a lot of people interested in high horsepower boost applications.
Interesting video. Took me a moment to realise 'aim' is the same as target in what I'm used to. What's the main difference between syvecs and motec? You kinda brushed past it. Very very interested to see the stock ECU and engine on the dyno compared to the motec! I have other questions but I'll probably send an email if that's OK?
It would be interesting to see a Syvecs vs Motec comparison on these platforms from your perspective, given they are different at the core (injection time vs VE based).
Just stumbled upon your channel. Thank you for putting out amazing pieces of information and knowledge. Where most tuners keeps things a secret you put it al out there.
Good video Ricky. Even though most of it went over my head, lol, I was able to grasp the improvements Motec have made with the M1 series over previous versions.
I remember Sheepy changed from Syvecs to Motec a while back. He side he was having issues with faulty hardware out if the box and it being a nightmare to get replacements for customers cars quickly.
We use Syvecs as well and it’s great, I think the “failures” comment is a laid of crap as Syvecs is on some of fastest cars in the world. Sheepey has Tony at T1 doing his tuning and he is a MoTeC man so more likely that but who knows! Everything but the truth on the internet! 😂😂
@@REPerformanceUK definitely a lot more to most things that meets the eye that’s for sure! That’s what I like about the tuning scene, the truth usually comes out in the end.
@@REPerformanceUK ahhhh ok so Motec just copied this for ease of installation then. Understood.. thanks and keep up the videos…. I’m enjoying the knowledge you provide
Hey I have an r8 v10 base I should be receiving my Motecs soon You mentioned a topic I was curious about. So I have to select what car I have but can I essentially have the r8 v10 + tube on my non +? Would that change my cars display and drive modes etc sort of like updating it from an electronics standpoint to then being like a v10+ in terms of power and settings etc ?
Yes, the driving modes can be linked to different maps within the ecu. As you have a non plus you won’t have the performance mode button or the exhaust mode button but we use them as well. Then you can tune the MoTeC to do whatever you want. Are you based in UK?
I agree. It’s definitely a nightmare but having an adapter harness or four would be absolutely mental. This seems like the “easy” way of doing it aside from doing a full re-wire of the car. And then you would still need to figure out how to make the body control modules work with it.
This isn’t complicated, the adaptor boards do the hard work with simple patch looms to join them so the harness load is much lower than a rewire etc. it’s a really neat solution, but it’s not for beginners!
